Chapparal NewsletterSeptember 1, 2016President’s MessageSeptember is upon us—summerending, kids back in school, coolerweather coming. I sincerely hope youhave enjoyed the last three months. It’s also nice to get back into a routineand begin preparations for the fall. There are a few items that have beenbrought to my attention for us to beaware of to make sure we are goodneighbors: If you are having a large party atyour house that will involve a lot ofcars parking on your street or lots ofnoise, consider giving your neighborsa courtesy call to inform them of yourplans. Be considerate with how yourevent may affect your immediateneighbors. If you have external lighting, especially motion detector lights, make sure that it is shining on yourown property and not affecting yourneighbors. We appreciate the efforts to keeptrash cans out of view as much aspossible. Please also remember to putyour trash out on your garbagecollection day and not many daysbefore. The weeds have not been growing asmuch with all the heat recently, but let’scontinue to keep them manageable, especially keeping the ditches mowed. Remember to put boats, RVs andtrailers into permanent storage awayfrom your property unless you have aplace to store them.We will have two large dumpsters upat the pool again on Saturday,September 17th and Sunday,September 18th. This is a greatopportunity to do some end ofsummer clean up in your yard. It is agood time to get rid of those deadlimbs in trees, or dead bushes andshrubs, or even an old trampoline ifnecessary.1

Chapparal NewsletterSeptember 1, 2016Remember you can put up to ten bundles or bags out on your driveway with yourgarbage each week. Please reserve the dumpsters for larger items. This has been a very busy summer for the Architectural Control Committee. Thanksto so many for submitting your plans prior to starting your work. Please try to givethe ACC committee some time for the approval process. They are very responsiveand cooperative. Also, please note that the ACC address has changed. It is nowchapparalacc@gmail.com instead of a personal email. This is a better address as along term contact for our committee. We are excited to see our entrances coming back! The next step will be thelandscaping. A big thanks to the Chapparal Metro District for sponsoring these. Iknow we will all be relieved when Arapahoe Road is finally completed. It has been ahassle with “no left turns”, but it will be worth it in the end. We will try to keep youupdated with information as we receive it.Some of the street lights in our community are not in good condition. If you haveone close to your home, you can call and report it to IREA at 303-688-3100. They willreplace burned out light bulbs and hopefully straighten ones that are leaning badly. We are pleased to welcome many new families to the neighborhood. We love thiscommunity. Thanks for helping to make it a great place to live!Rolayne Sellers HOA President2
