Don’t depend on anyone else for your well-being. A well-developed sense of self-efficacy is the crucial link to a longand meaningful existence. We all need to maintain mastery, autonomy and independence in our daily lives.Self-efficacy refers to an individual's belief in his or her capacity to execute behaviors necessary to produce specific performanceattainments (Bandura, 1977, 1986, 1997). Self-efficacy reflects a person’s belief in the ability to exert control over his or her ownmotivation and behavior. This belief can influence many things in life, including the goals we set for ourselves, and the level ofeffort given toward goal achievement. This applies to our ability to gain control of our health & functional fitness.Believe you can be successful in positively impacting your wellness (all aspects of health and functional fitness) by educatingyourself. Ask the following questions – the answers will lead you to autonomy and independence. Why – what are the specific benefits I (you) need to experience? What – what is required to achieve these benefits? How – how do I (you) achieve these specific benefits? Who – who do I (you) need to communicate and interact with, to learn the “why” and “how”? Where – where do I (you) need to go to achieve these benefits? When – when do I (you) get started, when should I (you) do the things that are required? The main health areas needed to be focused on are physical, mental, and emotional health. Believe that you can gain control ofand improve in each of these 3 areas. Yes, you may need some help from professionals to educate yourself on the why, what, how, who, where and when of each situation – but you CAN do it! You can reach that level of control that will provide you withthe highest possible quality of life.Get started today and then begin to celebrate each of your successes!!!FAC INFORMATIONPilates Mat Demo Class (FREE!) – Tuesday, 8/31 & Thursday, 9/2 4:30 to 5:15 pmPilates mat work focuses on building and maintaining core strength, proper alignment, muscular balance and body-mindconnection.
