DESIGNED FOR THETOUGHEST JOBS.Cummins designs, develops and supports every component, from the airhandling to the exhaust aftertreatment, to work as a totally integrated system– so we can optimise every function better than other engine manufacturers.Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) is the standard technology on Cummins midrange engines meeting Euro 5 and ADR80/03 emissions regulations. SCR hasbeen used by Cummins in Europe since 2005.This technology doesn’t change the design or operation of the basic engine.Rather, SCR is an exhaust aftertreatment system which converts NOx in theexhaust stream into harmless gases. This means engine combustion can beoptimised for improved fuel economy and reduced heat rejection while allowinghigher ratings.The ISLe5’s SCR system is a fully integrated in-house design, developed byCummins Emissions Solutions. In fact, Cummins is the only diesel enginemanufacturer with in-house integration of the critical subsystems from airhandling to exhaust aftertreatment. The entire Cummins SCR system is centrallycontrolled and monitored from the engine ECM.
