Steps to Make andHandle a Motion DiscussingAmendingot gVoting

To Table A MotionIf more information is needed, or there is notenoughg time to discuss and vote on amotion, it may be tabled. A member moves to table the motion. Another member seconds the motion. AA votet isi taken.t k No discussion is taken, but tabling does requirea majority vote to passpass.33

ShShowoff HHandsd This method is recommended for smallg pgroups. Chair asks members who are in favor toraise their right handshands. After the count istaken, those who are opposed are thenasked to raise their right handshands.36

Ri iRisingtot VVotet This method should be used to verify avoice vote and on motions requiringqga2/3 majority vote. Chair asks those in favor of the motionto rise. After counting, these membersare asked to sitsit. The chair then asksthose opposed to rise.37
