S8PSS8PS OVERLOAD PROTECTIONThe Power Supply has an overload protection function thatprotects the load and the power supply from possibledamage by overcurrent. When the output current rises abovea set value (105% of the rated output current), the protectionfunction is triggered, decreasing the output voltage. Whenthe output current falls within the rated range, the overloadprotection function is automatically cleared.600-W ModelsOutput voltage (V)50- to 300-W ModelsIntermittentoperationIf an excessive current flows for 5 s or more, the output willbe turned OFF and simultaneously protection-ON alarmindicator will be lit. To reset the S8PS, turn OFF the inputvoltage, leave the S8PS for at least three minutes, and thenapply the input voltage again.Note: Do not continue using the S8PS with the output terminals short-circuited or the overcurrent condition continued, otherwise the internal elements of the S8PSmay be damaged or broken.RatingOutput current (%)The Power Supply has an overvoltage protection functionthat protects the load and the Power Supply from possibledamage by overvoltage. When the output voltage risesabove a set value (120% of the rated output voltage), theprotection function is triggered, shutting OFF the outputvoltage. If this occurs, reset the Power Supply by turning itOFF for 1 minute min. and then turning it ON again.300- and 600-W ModelsOutput voltage (V) OVERVOLTAGE PROTECTIONRatedoutputvoltageIf voltage that is 115% of the rated output voltage or above isoutput, the output voltage will be turned OFF andsimultaneously protection-ON alarm indicator will be lit. S8PSS8PSPrecautions! WARNINGDo not touch the S8PS or heat radiation fin while thepower is being supplied or immediately after the power isturned OFF. Otherwise, a skin burn may result from thehot Switching Power Supply or radiator. GENERATING OUTPUT VOLTAGE ( )An output of can be generated by using two Power Supplies asshown below, because the Power Supply produces a floatingoutput. VLoadINPUT-- V VINPUTLoadWhen mounting the power supply, allow space for adequateair flow around it -- to improve and maintain the reliability ofthe power supply over a long period of time. The power supply is designed to dissipate heat through natural air-flow.Omron recommends mounting the power supply to a metalplate.Forced air-cooling is recommended.InputOnly 300- and 600-W models can be in parallel operationprovided that they are operated under 90% of the ratings. Do notoperate any other models in parallel.Make sure that the thickness and the length of all wiresconnected to the load are the same to ensure that the wires willhave no voltage drop differences. MOUNTING PARALLEL OPERATION-- V VINPUT-- V FAN REPLACEMENTThe service life of the fan is approximately 50,000 hours (at25 C). The service life varies, however, depending on theambient temperature or other surrounding environmentalconditions such as dust. As a preventive maintenance measure, replace the fan within two years if it is used at an ambienttemperature of 40 C.LoadFans are available as replacements. VINPUTModel: S82Y-JFAN-- V SERIES OPERATIONOnly models with power ratings of 100/150 W allow seriesoperation. As shown in the following diagram, the output voltage from eachSwitching Power Supply can be added. Switching power supply technology is ubiquitous! Cheap switching power supplies are used in LED fixtures, electric fences, desktop and laptop computers, tablets, wi-fi routers, DC to AC power inverters cell phone battery chargers, doorbell cameras, radios. In general, if it powers a USB device, chances are, it's a switching power supply.

Switching regulators operate by rapidly switching the pass transistor between two efficient operating states: 1. Cutoff- where there is a high voltage across the pass transistor, but no current flow. 2. Saturation- where there is a high current through the pass transistor, but a very small voltage drop. Characteristics of Switching Power .

that we have finite switches in finite time. In this paper we study continuous switching systems. A continuous switching sys-tem is a switching system with the additional constraint that the switched subsystems agree at the switching time. More specifically, consider Equation (1) and suppose
