Guider Enrichment 2019 30 sessions to choose from – there’s something for everyone! Accommodation for out-of-town Guiders and childcare areavailable. This event is open to all Guiders and Rangers!

SCHEDULE – FRIDAY EVENINGA few sessions will be available on Friday evening for out-of-town Guiders and those who would like abit of additional crafting and learning:Friday Evening Sessions: 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.1234Glass FusingElisha HardwickIn this hands-on session, you will assemble a glass fused pendant or ornament. You willexperience glass cutting, arranging colours and shapes and will finish with a beautifulfused pendant. Pendants will be available for pickup on Saturday morning (they will befused in a portable kiln and cooled on Friday evening).*Additional fee of 2 payable to the session leader.Glass MosaicCrystal HardwickLearn the fun craft of glass mosaics. You will make an 8x10 glass mosaic from a designof your choice. Learn to use glass cutters and grinders, as well as grouting techniques.*Additional fee of 5 payable to the session leader.Night Owl GamesRose HardieLearn to take control of the night. In this session you will learn fun games and activitiesto play in the dark at camp or at a meeting. This session is suitable all branches.Chainmail Bracelet WorkshopWendy DawsonLearn how to make a basic chainmail bracelet out of jump rings or wire. Please bringneedle nose pliers if you have them. In this session, learn and share camping tricks andtips for your next outdoor adventure.Journey Through London: Traveling with a Girl with a DisabilityAshley HilliardGoing on an international trip can be exciting, scary, fun, and an experience of a lifetime.Going with a child with a disability increases that experience by a 10-fold. In August 2018, agirl and Guider/personal support assistant from Ottawa undertook international travel for thefirst time together and made Girl Guide travel history with 23 others from across Canada. Thehours of prep, days of travel, and months of anticipation finally became a reality. Thispresentation will explore a seasoned disability advocate and support person's experiencetraveling with a girl with a disability, and the process of participating in a nationally sponsoredtrip. The presentation will touch on the programming provide by Pax Lodge and the triumphsand challenges of traveling with a girl with a disability in a large group.Paper Bag ScrapbooksSusan DarcyAn easy, often inexpensive, and beautiful way to save and display your Guiding memories!Teach paper bag scrapbooks to your girls for camp, parties, and other unit events. Bring 10-202x3” and/or 8-12 3x4” photos (available at the Walmart machines under mini prints). If youown them, please bring sharp paper scissors and a paper cutter. Circles,squares, spirals, bricks, or a combination are all possible with the versatile plastic lacing.
