1 General safety informationDo not make any changes or settings that arenot described in this user manual. Physicalinjury or damage to the device or loss of datacan result from improper handling. Take note ofall warning and safety notes indicated.Setting up the deviceThe device is for indoor use only. The deviceshould be placed securely on a stable, flat surface. Position all cables in such a way that noone will stumble on them, thus avoiding possible injuries to persons or damage to the deviceitself.Do not plug in the device in moist rooms. Nevertouch the main cable or the main connectionwith wet hands.Never operate the projector immediately aftermoving it from a cold location to a hot location.When the device is exposed to such a change intemperature, moisture may condense on thecrucial internal parts.The device must have sufficient ventilation andmay not be covered. Do not put your device inclosed cabinets or boxes.Do not place the device on soft surfaces suchas tablecloths or carpets and do not cover theventilation slits. Otherwise the device couldoverheat or catch fire.Protect the device against direct sunlight, heat,intense temperature fluctuations and moisture.Do not place the device in the vicinity of heatersor air conditioners. Observe the information ontemperature and humidity in the technical data(see Technical data, page 33).Do not allow liquids to enter into the device.Turn off the device and disconnect it from themain supply if liquids or foreign substances endup inside the device. Have the device inspectedby a technical service centre.Under the following conditions, a layer of moisture can appear inside the device which canlead to malfunctions: if the device is moved from a cold to awarm area; after a cold room is heated; when this device is placed in a damproom.Proceed as follows to avoid any moisture buildup:1 Seal this device in a plastic bag beforemoving it to another room, in order for it toadapt to room conditions.2 Wait one to two hours before you take thedevice out of the plastic bag.The device should not be used in a very dustyenvironment. Dust particles and other foreignobjects may damage the device.Do not expose the device to extreme vibrations. Itmay damage the internal components.Do not allow children to handle the devicewithout supervision. The packing materialsshould be kept out of the hands of children.RepairsDo not repair the device yourself. Impropermaintenance can result in injuries or damage tothe device. Your device must be repaired by anauthorised service centre.Find details of authorised service centres onthe warranty card.Do not remove the type label from your device;this would void the warranty.Always handle the device with care. Power supply3D glasses useBefore turning on your device, check that theoutlet that you are going to plug it into conforms to the indications shown on the information plate (voltage, current, power network frequency) located on your device. This deviceshall be connected to a single phase powernetwork. The device shall not be installed onbare ground.When using 3D glasses at home, keep in mind:Only use the power cable that is supplied withyour device. Your device is delivered with agrounded power cable. It is imperative to connect a grounded connector to a grounded outlet connected to the building earthing.The socket outlet shall be installed near thedevice and shall be easily accessible.To remove all electrical power from the device,disconnect the power cable from the electricaloutlet. Only in case of danger, the power cableis the disconnect device for this projector.CAUTION!Always use the B button to turn off theprojector. This is essential to allow thenecessary cooling-down time for theUHP lamp!Turn off the device and unplug from the poweroutlet before cleaning the surface. Use a soft,lint-free cloth. Never use liquid, gaseous or easily flammable cleansers (sprays, abrasives, polishes, alcohol). Do not allow any moisture toreach the interior of the device. 3D glasses must be kept out of reach fromsmall children, due to risk of small partsbeing ingested; 3D glasses are not intended for use bychildren under the age of six; children between age six and adulthoodshould not use the glasses for longer thanthe duration of one film; the same time limit is also recommendedfor adults; 3D glasses are intended strictly for watching 3D content only; undertake a thorough and regular cleaning and disinfection in case of eye infection, head-lice infestation, etc. In caseswhere disinfection of the 3D glasses is notpossible, as it may damage the functionality of the 3D glasses, the user must beinformed that use of the 3D glasses is notrecommended until the issues have beenresolved; 3D glasses are to be used together withthe regular eye-wear of the user (eyeglasses or contact lenses).CAUTION!You should stop watching 3D in theevent of the occurrence of eye problems or discomfort, and in the event ofa persistence of any issues, consult adoctor.DANGER!Risk of eye irritation!This device is equipped with a long-lifeUHP lamp, which emit very bright light.Do not look directly into the projectorlens during operation. 3 Initial operationSetting up the deviceBefore installing your device, make sure thatthe projector is turned off and the power cableis unplugged from the power outlet.The size of the screen (b) is comprised between0.1 and 0.42 metres depending on the projection distance (a), as described in the followingtable.CAUTION!Remove protection foil before operating!Do not place any objects in front of thelens!1 Position the device flat on the table with therear side in front of the projection surface.Additionally the image can be optimallyfitted to the projection surface with theadjustment of the feet under the projector.Diagonal size (b)(mm)[inch]Projection distance(a)(mm)1270[50]1083048[120]420Connecting power supplyCAUTION!Always use the B button to turn off theprojector. This is essential to allow thenecessary cooling-down time for theUHP lamp!1 Connect the power cable into the socket onthe rear side of your device (1).2 Plug the power cable to outlet in the wall (2).The device compensates for the distortion fromthe slanted projection (pincushion distortion).Check that the projection surface is appropriated to the projector. The distance between theprojector and the screen determines the actualsize of the image.abba To change the size of the screen, just move theprojector towards or away from the wall.Initial operation11

Installing or changing thebatteries of the IR remotecontrolUsing the remote controlThe remote control can be used within an angleof 22.5 degrees and up to 10 meters from thedevice. When using the remote control, thereshould be no obstacles between the remotecontrol and the remote sensor.DANGER!Risk of explosion with incorrect type ofCAUTION!batteries! The improper use of batteries canlead to overheating, explosion, riskof fire and injury. Leaking batteriescan possibly damage the remotecontrol. Never expose the remote controlto direct sunlight. Avoid deforming, dismantling orcharging the batteries. Avoid exposure to open fire andwater. Replace empty batteries immediately. Remove the battery from theremote control if not in use for longperiods of time.Only use the AAA type battery.1 To access the battery, press to unlock thelocking mechanism (1) and slide out thebattery compartment (2).ab2 Insert the new batteries into the battery compartment with the positive and negativepoles as shown. Make sure the polarities ( and -) are aligned correctly.3D glasses (optional)NoticeYou can purchase Screeneo 3D glasseson the Philips website:www.philips.com3 Push the battery compartment back into theremote control until the locking mechanismengages.NoticeNormally the batteries will last foraround one year. If the remote controlstops working, replace the batteries. Ifthe device is not used for a long time,take out the batteries. This will preventleakage and possible damage to theremote control.The 3D glasses are equipped with a battery,which has to be charged before first use. Charging takes several hours and is complete whenthe LED on the glasses is on green. When the LED turns red, do a new charge.1 Take a USB mini cable, connect the USB miniplug to the 3D glasses and the other end ofthe cable to a USB port.The used batteries should be disposedof according to the recycling regulations of your country.12Philips · HDP2510

Activate 3D glasses1 Press the ON / OFF button on the top of theglasses.2 On the remote control, press the 3D key.3 The 3D menu appears, select your choice andpress OK.4 Press the ON/OFF button on the top of theglasses for one and a half seconds. 3x1.5 SECThe LED flashes green three times and thenstays on. Your glasses are ready.Initial operation13

Initial installation1 Turn the device with the rear side towards asuitable projection surface or wall. Note thatthe distance to the projection surface mustbe a minimum of 0.1 meter and a maximum of0.42 meter (see Setting up the device,page 4). Make sure the projector is in a secureposition.3 The first time you turn on the device, youneed to set the following settings.NoticeDuring the first installation, use OK tovalidate your choice and continue tothe next step, and ¿ to return to theprevious step.4 Use ¡/ to select the language and confirm with OK.NoticeThe turning on and off of the projectorrequires some time, as the UHP lampmust reach the operational temperature. Turning off the projector1 To turn off the projector, press the B buttonon the panel control of the device or on theremote control twice.2 A message displays asking if you really wantto turn off the device. Confirm with theB button or stop shutting down with anyother key.Shut down systemFor shutting down the system please clickagain the Power button BOr any other key to stop shutting down thesystemSetting up the languageThe device has already been installed. Connecting to a homecinema amplifier2 After connecting the headphones, increasethe volume to a comfortable level using theVOLUME buttons N/O.Use a S/PDIF optical cable to connect the DIGITAL AUDIO output on the projector to the inputof your home cinema amplifier.For example, to show digital channels in DTS orDOLBY DIGITAL quality sound.Connecting to headphonesDANGER!Danger of hearing damage!Do not use the device over a longertime at high volume – especially whenusing headphones. This could lead tothe risks of hearing damage. Beforeconnecting the headphones, turn downthe volume on the device.1 Connect the headphones to the headphoneslot on the side of the device. Update firmware with USBstorage mediumCAUTION!Never pull out the digital media whilethe device is accessing it. This couldcause data to be damaged or lost.You can find the Screeneo firmware version onthe Philips website: www.philips.comYou must download the file on USB storagemedium in order to update your projector.Turn the device off in order to makesure that the device does not accessthe USB storage medium.NoticeDo not turn off the device during theupdate process!Download from website1 Launch an Internet browser, in the addressbar, type the address: www.philips.com2 Select your country and your language.3 In the search bar, type the device Screeneoand your model HDP2510.4 The Screeneo HDP2510 projector screenappears. In the new screen, research Supportand click on Software & drivers.5 In the Software & drivers screen select yourlanguage and click Download file.NoticeThe file on the website is a zip file. It hasto be unpacked and put on the rootfolder of the USB stick.On the projector1 Check that the device is connected to powersupply.2 Connect the USB storage medium to the projector's USB socket.3 To turn on the projector, press the B buttonon the panel control of the device or on theremote control once.4 Press the OPTION/Ă button and use ¡/ to select System.5 Confirm with OK.6 Use ¡/ to select Firmware update.7 Confirm with OK.A message displays asking if you want toupdate the new firmware. Confirm with OK(YES). If no firmware was found on the USB stick orif no USB stick is plugged in a messageappears.If you do not wish to update the firmware atthis point, you can exit the menu by pressingÀ/Á to select NO and confirming with OKor exit with the BACK/¿ button.8 A message displays informing you that theinstallation process will take some minutesand that the projector will reboot duringinstallation. Confirm with OK.9 The device turns off and on again. After ashort time the Language selection screenappears. The firmware update is now completed.NoticeIf an error occurs during the firmwareupdate process retry the procedure orcontact your dealer.Connect to the playback device19

5 Bluetooth speakerThe projector can be used as Bluetoothspeaker.
