Teacher Program GuideMovies and Music!Peacherine Ragtime Society OrchestraProgram Description:In this fun-filled interactive extravaganza, the Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra and directorAndrew Greene take you back in time over 100 years to re-create the first movie-going experience!Using the original period orchestral scores and antique instruments, Mr. Greene and Peacherine bringback to life the syncopated musical styles of over 100 years ago, and students and teachers will beinvited to explore how this music influences how you respond to the movie-going experience. Peacherineopens up students’ minds to see how we respond visually and audibly to sound and encourages them tocreate their own scenes responding to the music performed. We top off the performance with ascreening of a classic silent film starring Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, Laurel andHardy, and the original movie stars of 100 years ago!Contact Young Audiences for more information on this and other programs 410-837-7577 www.yamd.orgYoung Audiences/Arts for Learning2600 N Howard Street, Suite 1300Baltimore, MD 21218
