IMPORTANT: Ensure vacuum is in uprightposition. Do not use position “II” when cleaningabove the floor in the upright vac mode as thiswill engage the motorized floor brush. (Fig. 17)3 Rinse the filters thoroughly in lukewarm water untilthe water runs clear.23 old the dust cup over a trash receptacle andHpress the bottom door release button. (Fig. 18)Tap gently to empty contents. Press the door shutagain until it clicks.I f needed, turn the dust cup upside down over thetrash receptacle and press the top door releasebutton. (Fig. 19) Tap gently to remove contents. Use a dry cloth or paper towel to remove debrisstuck to the screen filter inside the dust cup. Pressthe door shut again until it clicks.Remove the dust cup.2 Pull the 2 filters out from the top of the motorbase. (Fig. 20) DO NOT put the filter in the washing machine ordishwasher. NOTE: The material in the filter will discolor overtime. This is NORMAL and will not affect theperformance of the filter.4 Squeeze out excess water and let air-dry for atleast 24 hours before replacing. (Fig. 25)Fig. 23CLEANING THE POST-MOTOR HEPA FILTER1 Remove the filter cover from the front of thevacuum by pulling up on the tab and pulling thecover away from the vacuum. (Fig. 21)a2 Take out the HEPA filter by pulling it straight out.3 Turn the filter over so that the dirty side is onthe bottom and vigorously tap it clean against agarbage can to remove any dust. (Fig. 22)4 Wash the filter under the tap using lukewarmwater with the dirty side face down until the waterruns clear. (Fig. 23) DO NOT put the filter in the washing machine ordishwasher. NOTE: The material in the filter will discolor overtime. This is NORMAL and will not affect theperformance of the filter.5 A llow the filter to air dry for 24 hours. Do not usea hair dryer or other heating methods to dry.6 Once the HEPA filter is dry, replace it back into thevacuum.7 R eplace the cover by inserting the two tabs intothe holes at the top and then swinging the coverdown until it clicks into place.14Fig. 26Fig. 27CLEANING THE TURBO BRUSH (model NV352 only)1 Slide the locking latch (a) forward and gently tiltbrush housing upward to open. EnglishMake sure you are working in a welllit area and use a flashlight to helpsearch for blockages.RotatingBrushFig. 28Fig. 29CLEANING THE MOTORIZED FLOOR BRUSHCHECKING FOR BLOCKAGESWhen your motorized floor brush needs cleaning orlocks onto an object, it automatically shuts down toprevent damage to your lifetime belt. The indicatorlight will illuminate red warning you to turn off thevacuum and clear blockage immediately. The light willreset itself once blockage has been cleared and powerhas been cycled on/off or vacuum has been locked inthe upright position.Blockages may cause your vacuum to overheat andshut down. To prevent this from happening, checkpotential blockage areas after heavy use or if youdetect a loss of suction or poor cleaning performance.1 Detach the motorized floor brush from thedetachable canister. Pre-motor filters require washing every 3 monthsfor optimum performance. The post-motor HEPAfilter needs to be washed every 2 years.2 Inspect the opening underneath and the rotatingbrush. If a build-up of debris is present, remove it.Carefully cut anything wound around the rotatingbrush with scissors. Avoid damaging or cuttingthe bristles. (Fig. 28) 1Dust Cup Dust cup may be full.
