.3Nomination if Nomination Criteria Met: Provided the requirements set out in clause 3.1 and3.2 are met, the Selectors shall nominate to NZOC for consideration of selection, thoseAthletes it considers meet the Nomination Criteria set out below.3.4Reserve Athletes: The Selectors may nominate Reserve Athletes to the NZOC for anyGymnastics Event.4.Nomination Criteria4.1Nomination Criteria: In considering any Athlete for nomination to the NZOC, the Selectorsshall consider:(a)the Over-Riding Nomination Criteria specified in clause 5.1; and(b)the Specific Nomination Factors specified in clause 5.2; and(c)any Extenuating Circumstances in accordance with clause 6.3.4.2Relevance and Weighting: The Selectors may determine the relevance and weight thatthey wish to place on any Specific Nomination Factor(s) and any ExtenuatingCircumstances(s) as they consider appropriate. No particular Specific Nomination Factorshall be weighed more or less significantly based on the order in which it appears in thisNomination Criteria unless expressly specified otherwise.4.3Permission to Start: At the sole discretion of the NZOC, Nominated Athletes may, onGymnastics New Zealand request to the NZOC, if they are selected to the Games Team bythe NZOC, request permission to start in another Gymnastics Event, provided it will nothave any detrimental effect on the Gymnastics Event they have already been selected for.4.4Own Enquiries: In considering the Specific Nomination Factors, the Selectors may make suchenquiries of the Athlete, or other persons, as they see fit.4.5Conditions: In considering any results and performances of an Athlete at any Key Eventsand Trials, the Selectors may, but do not have to, take into account the conditions in whichthe results and performances were obtained such as, but not limited to, the field ofcompetition.4.6Extenuating Circumstances: In any decision regarding the nomination of Athletes to theGames Team, the Selectors may, in their sole discretion, take into account any ExtenuatingCircumstances in accordance with clause 6 below.5.Over-Riding Nomination Criteria and Specific Nomination Factors5.1Over-Riding Nomination Criteria:(a)In determining whether or not to nominate an Athlete (or group of Athletes) to aGymnastics Event, the Selectors must be satisfied overall that the Athlete (or groupof Athletes):

(i)is or are capable of achieving a top 6 placing at the Games in an IndividualGymnastics Event(s). In order to determine capability in Artistic IndividualGymnastic Event, a top 6 placing will be determined from the results andperformances on one or more apparatus in the Key Events. In order todetermine capability in a Rhythmic Individual Event, a top 6 placing will bedetermined only from the Athlete’s All-Around results and performances inKey Events; or(ii) are capable of achieving a top 3 placing at the Games in a Team GymnasticsEvent; and(iii) has or have a track record of sufficient quality and depth that the NZOCbelieves demonstrates that the Nominated Athlete(s) or group of NominatedAthlete(s) will be competitive at the Games and will perform creditably in thatGymnastics Event.(b)In determining whether or not the Athlete (or group of Athletes) satisfies the OverRiding Nomination Criteria for Gymnastics Events in clause 5.1(a) above, theSelectors shall have regard to any one or more of the following:i.Results and Performances: the results and performances in the GymnasticsEvent at the following Key Events during the Qualification Period: Any World Cup or World Challenge CupTokyo 2020 Olympics - July 20212021 Pacific Rim Championships (Senior)2021 World Championships Artistic2021 World Championships Rhythmic2021 Universiade2021 Oceania ChampionshipsAny other FIG Sanctioned International Event or Tournament (Senior)2021 – New Zealand Nationals (Senior)Athletes must attend a minimum of 3 Key Events during the QualificationPeriod, one of which must be a World Cup or World
