Safety PrecautionsIndoor/outdoor wiring connections mustbe secured tightly and the cable shouldbe routed properly so that there is noforce pulling the cable from theconnection terminals.Safely dispose off the packing materials.Like screws, nails, batteries, brokenthings etc after installation or svc andthen tear away and thraw away the plasticpackaging bags.Make sure to check that the power cableplug is not dirty, loose or broken andthen only insert the plug completely. Improper or loose connections can causeheat generation or fire. Children may play with them and causeinjury. Dirty, loose or broken power plug cancause electric shock or fire.In outdoor unit the step-up capacitorsupplies high voltage electricity to theelectrical components. Be sure todischarge the capacitor completelybefore conducting the repair work.When installing the unit, use theinstallation kit provided with the product.Be sure to use only those parts whichare listed in the svc parts list. Neverattempt to modify the equipment. An charged capacitor can cause electricalshock. Otherwise the unit may fall and cause severeinjury. The use of inappropriate parts can cause anelectrical shock, excessive heat generation orfire.Do not open the front grille of the productduring operation. (Do not touch theelectrostatic filter, if the unit is so equipped.)If strange sounds, smell or smoke comesfrom product.Immediately turn the breakeroff or disconnect the power supply cable.Do not use the product in a tightly closedspace for a long time. Perform ventilationregularly. Oxygen deficiency could occur and henceharm your health. There is risk of physical injury, electric shock,or product failure. A bad connection may cause water leakage.Always check for gas (refrigerant)leakage after installation or repair ofproduct. Low refrigerant levels may cause failure ofproduct.

Clean the filter every two weeksor more often if necessary. There is risk of personal injury and failure of product. A dirty filter reduces the efficiency.If the refrigerant gas leaks during therepair, do not touch the leakaingrefrigerant gas.Be cautious when unpacking andinstalling the product. Sharp edges could cause injury. The refrigernat gas can cause frostbite (coldburn)Do not mix air or gas other than thespecified refrigerant used in the system .If the refrigerant gas leaks during theinstallation, ventilate the area immediately. If air enters the refrigerant system, anexcessively high pressure results, causingequipment damage or injury. Otherwise it can be harmfull for your health.Replace the all batteries in the remotecontrol with new ones of the same type.Do not mix old and new batteries ordifferent types of batteries.Do not recharge or disassemble thebatteries. Do not dispose off batteries ina fire. There is risk of fire or product failure. They may burn or explode.If the liquid from the batteries gets ontoyour skin or clothes, wash it well withclean water. Do not use the remote if thebatteries have leaked.Do not let the air conditioner run for along time when the humidity is very highand a door or a window is left open. Do not use bleach or abrasives.NOTESupply power must be disconnected before cleaning the indoor unit.Air outlet ventTwo wired remote controller All wired remote controllers are displayed on identical information. Last used wired romote controllers has priority on product's movement.Call the service immediately in the following situations1. Anything abnormal such as burning smell, loud noise etc. happen. Stop the unit and turn the breaker off. Nevertry to repair by yourself or restart the system in such cases.2. Main power cord is too hot or damaged.3. Error code is generated by self diagnosis.4. Water leaks from indoor unit.5. Any switch, breaker (safety, earth) or fuse fails to work properlyUser must carry routine checkup & cleaning to avoid unit’s poor performance.In case of special situation, the job must be carried out by the only service person.20 Concealed Duct Air Conditioner

Maintenance and ServiceOperation Tips!Do not overcool the room.This is not good for the health and wastes electricity.Make sure that the doorsand windows are shut tight.Avoid opening doors and windows as much as possibleto keep the air conditioned air in the room.Keep blinds or curtains closed.Do not let direct sunshine enter the room when the airconditioner is in cooling operation.Ventilate the room occasionally.Since windows are kept closed, it is a good idea to openthem and ventilate the room from time to time.When the air conditioner is not going.When it is not going to be used for a long time.1 Operate the air conditioner on Air circulation mode for 2 to 3 hours. This will dry out the internal parts.2 Turn off the circuit breaker.CAUTION: Turn off the circuit breaker when the air conditioner is not goingto be used for a long time.Dirt may collect and may cause a fire.3. Remove the batteries from the Remote Controller.When the air conditioner is to be used again. Check that the air inlet and outlet of the indoor/outdoor unit are not blocked.Owner's Manual 21

Maintenance and ServiceTroubleshooting Tips! Save time and money!Check the following points before requesting repairs or service. If the malfunction persist, please contact your dealer.CaseExplanationThe air conditioner does notoperate. Have you made a mistake in timer operation? On first starting, the indoor unit operates infifteen seconds. Has the fuse blown or has the circuit breakerbeen tripped? Check that this is not a damp smell exuded by thewalls, carpet, furniture or cloth items in the room. Condensation occurs when the airflow from theair conditioner cools the warm room air. This is the protector of the mechanism. Wait about three minutes and operation will begin. Is the air filter dirty? See air filter cleaning instructions. The room may have been very hot when theroom air conditioner was first turned on. Allowtime for it to cool down. Has the setting temperature been set incorrectly? Are the indoor unit's air inlet or outlet ventsobstructed? For a noise that sounds like water flowing.-This is the sound of freon flowing inside the airconditioner unit. For a noise that sounds like the compressed airreleasing into atmosphere.-This is the sound of the dehumidifying waterbeing processed inside the air conditioning unit. This sound is generated by theexpansion/contraction of the inlet grille, etc. dueto changes of temperature.
