But he was but the forerunner for Jesus, the promised Messiah.Appearances were certainly deceiving! That was the case with Amos, a herdsmanand dresser of sycamore figs when the Lord called him. He did not look like aprophet, but he stood up to Amaziah and Jeroboam in a long line of faithfulprophets. Sometimes Satan uses appearances to deceive us, but the Epistlereminds us that God had predestined us to be with Him forever—even before Hebegan creation! Although others might not recognize it, the Holy Spirit is theguarantee of our inheritance. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord JesusChrist! The Immanuel Lutheran Parent Teacher League (PTL) is honored to host the 7thAnnual Immanuel Lutheran Golf Outing held on the natural, rolling terrain ofIronwood Golf Course in Sussex. We are calling on all Immanuel Brookfield golfers, non-golfers, family and friendsto join us for a beautiful day to raise funds for the school.Golfers - 110 per person (includes lunch, dinner, sides and beer). Judy Knoerr,Sharon Meloy and Jan Weinhold came on board as thefacilitators. During these six years 40 participants havegone thru the program; the opportunity to walk with theseindividuals through their grief journey has been a trueblessing and a joy to leadership; participants have foundhealing and strength from this program. Continuation ofGrief Share is dependent on new, younger leadershipcoming on board as the current facilitators are aging andfinding that they are facing other choices andresponsibilities that need to be given priority. Should newvolunteers step forward, the fall session of Grief Sharewould be a training session for new facilitators; they wouldthen take over the next session in Spring. Judy, Sharonand Jan would be available as resources and to fill in as afacilitator if needed. If you are interested in becoming involved in Grief Share, please contact Heather Vahl in thechurch office, 262-781-7140.Save the date.Outdoor worship service at9:30am on August 22nd.
