Installation: Hard-Wired ConfigurationIMPORTANT: TURN OFF MAIN POWERTO THE INSTALLATION LOCATION ATTHE CIRCUIT BREAKER.Step 1: Prepare proper wiring and wall switch. Turn off the main power before installing the fixture in order to prevent possible electric shock. Locate the circuit breakercontrol for the room where you’ll be working and switch the circuit to off. A whip is required for hardwire installation. In other words, you need access to a power cable that comes from a Junction Boxin the wall. The power cable should be on a switched circuit to allow for control of the mirror lights. These extra wires are prewired together. Ensure that you are using 3 conductor wire (Black Live, White Neutral, Green Ground). Make sure the lengthof the whip is long enough to reach from the power box in the wall to the mirror. If the whip is longer than needed, you maychoose to use a wire cutter to reduce the length.IMPORTANT Mirrors that include Touch Control functionality require the junction box circuit to be a constanthot circuit and not a switched circuit. Mirrors that include an IR Clock should be wired so the clock always remains on, even when themirror lights are off. This requires the junction box circuit to be split with one side constant hot(for the IR clock) and one side that is switched (for the mirror lights). This way, the clock’s backup battery won’t drain when the mirror lights are off. Mirrors that include a Defogger (non-touch controlled) can be wired three different ways: 41.On the same switch as the mirror lights: When the mirror lights turn on, the defoggerturns on. This requires the junction box circuit to be a switched circuit.2.On a separate switch from the mirror lights: One switch will control the mirror lights anda separate switch will control the defogger. This requires the junction box circuit to haveseparate switched circuits, one for the mirror lights and one for the defogger.3.Always on, no switch required: The defogger will remain on, even when the mirror lightsare off. This requires the junction box circuit to be split with one side constant hot (forthe defogger) and one side that is switched (for the mirror lights).Mirrors that include a Night Light (non-touch controlled) can be wired three different ways:1.On the same switch as the mirror lights: When the mirror lights turn on, the night lightturns off. This requires the junction box circuit to be a switched disconnect circuit.2.On a separate switch from the mirror lights: One switch will control the mirror lights anda separate switch will control the night light. This requires the junction box circuit tohave separate switched circuits, one for the mirror lights and one for the night light.3.Always on, no switch required: The night light will remain on, even when the mirror lightsare off. This requires the junction box circuit to be split with one side constant hot (forthe night light) and one side that is switched (for the mirror lights). If your mirror includes dimming capability but does not include the optional Dimmable Touch Button upgrade, verify that yourwall switch supports dimming functionality. The dimmable switch must be 0-10V or Triac based on the configuration of yourpersonalized mirror.

Step 2: Map out the installation area and mount the lighted mirrorhousing to the wall. Locate the keyhole slots on the lighted mirror housing. Thenumber of keyhole slots depends on the mirror size. You mayrefer to the included drawing package for specific dimensionsof your mirror and locations of the keyhole slots. Using a measuring tape and level, determine where you wantto mount the mirror on the wall and mark the keyhole slotswith a pencil on the wall. Ensure the mirror is correctlyvertically positioned. Use a stud finder to determine if the keyhole slots line upwith wall studs. We recommend mounting to wall studs ifpossible. Keyhole slots that line up with a stud require a #10 woodscrew that is at least 2-inches long. Keyhole slots that do not line up with wall studs require theincluded Self-Drilling Drywall Anchors located in the hardwarebox. The drywall should be a minimum ½-inch thick. Using ascrewdriver, insert the supplied E-Z Anchor Toggles into thecorresponding pencil marks on the wall. To set the clamp behind the drywall, place the mountingscrew into the anchor and push or tap firmly untilapproximately 1-inch of the screw is protruding (do notrotate). Mirror WidthX”MirrorHeightY”Sample keyhole slot locations are circled in the image above.Check your shop drawing for exact dimensions for your mirror.Secure the housing to the wall with screws through thekeyhole slots.5

Installation: Hard-Wired Configuration (continued)Wiring Fixture DisconnectStep 3: Make wiring connections. Séura lighted mirrors are equipped with an easy-to-installwiring fixture disconnect that can be found on the mirrorhousing that is now connected to the wall. Refer to yourincluded drawing package to identify the location of thefixture disconnect.Connect the whip (extra wires that are pre-wired together)from step 1 to the fixture disconnect. The connectionaccepts AWG 16 - 12 solid or stranded (19 strands maximum).Using a wire stripper, strip the insulation on the wires backapproximately 1/2”.On Full Length Lighted Mirrors, we recommend routing thewhip from step 1 through the top hole of the center wiringWiring connections made bythe manufacturerField wire connectorConnections to be made bythe installer in the fieldNeutral (White)Ground (Green)Line Voltage/Hot (Black)flange and then connecting the whip to the wiring fixturedisconnect. This will help keep the whip in place so it doesn’tappear behind the etched mirror glass. Open the fixture disconnect by pushing down on the tab thatconnects the top and bottom pieces. Connect wires into thefixture disconnect using the color code diagram pictured.Reconnect the top and bottom pieces by sliding themtogether. If using a 0-10V dimmable switch, then connect 0-10Vdimming signal directly to the driver dimming control wires. Turn the wall switch to on and verify functionality. If on aconstant hot circuit, power will be delivered immediatelywhen the circuit breaker is turned back on.Wiring For Units With 0-10V Dimming0-10V DimmingControl Wire(Negative)0-10V DimmingControl Wire(Positive)6On Full Length LightedMirrors, route the whipthrough the top hole ofthe center wiring flange.

Step 4: Hang the mirrorIf the mirror has a decorative frame, do not hold the mirrorby the frame. For framed mirrors and large mirrors, werecommend using glass suction cups to lift the mirror. Once the wire connections are made, make sure all wires aretucked into the wire saddles. This will prevent wires fromgetting pinched between the mirror and housing. Hang the mirror onto the housing by positioning the mountingbrackets on the back of the mirror so they rest on top of thebrackets on the housing. Start by holding the mirror slightlyhigher than the housing and slowly lower the mirror until themirror brackets rest on the housing brackets. Ensure the brackets are interlocked and the mirror is secureby making sure the mirror is level and evenly spaced fromthe wall. Gently try to move the mirror glass. If you can pullany of the four corners away from the housing, then it’s notmounted properly. If the glass moves, it’s likely not fullyinterlocked and you need to repeat this step to align themounting brackets.LIGHTED MIRROR HOUSING GLASSSee pages 10-16 for instructions to connect optional upgrades(such as touch buttons, mirror defoggers and more) from thehousing to the mirror.WALLInstalledInterlockingBrackets7

Installation: Plug-In ConfigurationStep 1: Prepare proper wall switch. Ensure a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) outlet is locatednear the mirror so the plug cord can reach the outlet. Werecommending the outlet be located within the middle open areaof the housing for a clean look without a visible cord. A compatibleoutlet should be installed by a licensed electrician according tolocal building codes.Wiring Fixture DisconnectTab to openwiring fixturedisconnectIf your mirror includes dimming capability but does not includethe optional Dimmable Touch Button upgrade, verify that your wallswitch supports dimming functionality. The dimmable switch mustbe 0-10V or Triac based on the configuration of your personalizedmirror. For Full Length Lighted Mirrors Only: Make plug wiring connection. Séura lighted mirrors are equipped with an easy-to-install wiringfixture disconnect that can be found on the mirror housing. Referto your included drawing package to identify the location of thefixture disconnect. Open the fixture disconnect by pushing down on the tab thatconnects the top and bottom pieces. Discard the top piece or keepit if you decide to change to a hardwire configuration in the future. Locate the provided plug that contains a wiring fixture disconnecton one end. If the outlet is located inside of the mirror housing, werecommend routing the wiring fixture disconnect end of theplug cord through the top hole of the center wiring flange. This will keep the cord in place so it doesn’t appear behindthe etched mirror glass. If the outlet is located outside of the mirror housing, route thewiring fixture disconnect end of the plug cord through a holein the bottom of the mirror housing. There is a white plasticcircular piece at the bottom of the mirror housing that needsto be removed to make the hole. Then push the wiring fixturedisconnect end of the cord up through the hole until thestrain relief bushing on the cord blocks the hole completely– it should be a snug fit. This is a UL safety requirement. Theplug end of the cord should be hanging below the mirror soyou can plug it into the wall outlet.Connect the two ends of the wiring fixture disconnect by slidingthem together to complete the wiring. If the outlet is locatedoutside of the mirrorhousing, you must route thewiring fixture disconnect endof the plug cord through thehole in the bottom of themirror housing per UL safetyrequirements.StrainReliefBushingPlug8On Full Length LightedMirrors, if the outlet islocated within the mirrorhousing, we recommendrouting the wiring fixturedisconnect end of the plugthrough the top hole of thecenter wiring flange.

Step 2: Map out the installation area and mount the lighted mirrorhousing to the wall. X”Locate the keyhole slots on the lighted mirror housing. Thenumber of keyhole slots depends on the mirror size.
