Transportation Guidelines for EarlyReleaseNotes From The Nurse!I’m happy to be back at Greentree to care for your children.I hope they all have a healthy and enjoyable year. If yourchild needs medication during the school day, it needs to bebrought in the original container, whether it’s prescription ornon-prescription. A written note from the parent needs toaccompany the medicine stating the dosage and time ofadministering it, the reason for treatment and the length oftime it’s to be given. If the medicine is to be given for morethan 10 school days during the year, or more than 4 times amonth on an occasional basis, I will need a form filled out bythe physician. These can be picked up at the clinic. Allmedications must be brought in by an adult and picked upby an adult. We will be screening for vision and hearing, thand checking heights and weights for all K, 1, 3 and 5grade students soon. I will contact you if there are anyproblems. If I can assist you in any way for your child’sneeds, please contact me at 281-641-1957. Thanks. JanWillis, RN, NCSNWith the first elementary early release day coming up onAugust 27th, this is a reminder of the bus transportationschedule. All K - 5 classes will attend school from 8:00 - 11:30Kindergarten students will return home on the bus that theyride to school in the morning.Meet the Office Staff! No Peanuts, please!!!No peanut products, please!!! From the PrincipalMeet our Assistant Principal“Big shoes to fill!” That seems to be the consensus of all ofus about following Nancy Pinkerton as principal. Nancy istruly one in a million – with her boundless energy, love ofstudents and devootion to the Greentree family. One personsaid it best “Greentree is Nancy Pinkerton!” I feel so blessedto have had the experience of working with Mrs. Pinkerton –the best there is!!!!Sarah Permenter comes to us from Oak Forest where shewas going to be an administrative intern this comingyear. She helped open Fall Creek as their readingspecialist in 2008, also serving as a member of their RTIteam and piloted the Fountas and Pinnell Leveled LiteracyIntervention System. She has taught 1st, 2nd and 3rdgrades at Willow Creek, and in Bryan and Navasota. Shewas an adjunct faculty member for the Alternative TeacherCertification program at Lone Star Community Collegewhere she taught and mentored new teachers. Iam a wife (my husband John is retired from Shell Oil),mother of four and grandmother of six (soon to be seven).I’ve taught in New Orleans, San Diego and Humble (BearBranch and Shadow Forest). Our family has lived in 7 statesand experienced several different educational systems, ofwhich we feel Humble to be one of the best. I have been theassistant principal at Greentree for the past 4 years. Aninteresting tie to Greentree is that my daughter, CynthiardPearce Kenny, taught 3 grade here for 2 years (99-01).thAs we commemorate Greentree’s 30 year, we want tocelebrate our successes and continue to be the best we canbe. I promise you that all the wonderful things aboutGreentree will continue. Our exemplary staff will go overand beyond to provide the best educational experience foryour child. We will always strive to be GREENTREEGREAT!As you might imagine, retirement for Mrs. Pinkerton after allthese many years has been a difficult process. She did notfeel like a large going away party was best for her. But weall want to acknowledge her contributions and ties to eachof us. So we will be creating a memory book which will giveeach of you the chance to express your appreciation andpersonal best wishes for a job well done. Please send toPam Baker (Pamela.baker@humble.k12.tx.us) an email tobid farewell to Mrs. Pinkerton in your own personal way. Itcould be an experience, a short story, or some otherconnection to her. We will put these expressions in amemory book to be delivered to her home. Please have your responses to Pam no later than October1, 2010. There is no doubt Mrs. Pinkerton will greatlyappreciate your remembrances.
