Thecomplete accessories and their new designs guarantee thecompressor has the best reliability, longest bearing life duringheavy duty running and strict operating conditions.The slide valve for capacity control is located in the compressorchamber. The slide valve is actuated by injection of pressurizedoil into the cylinder from the oil sump as well as bypass ofoil through solenoid valves in each oil lines with pressuredifferential.The screw compressors are equipped with either 3-step/4step capacity control system or continuous (stepless) capacitycontrol system. Both of the capacity control systems consistof a modulation slide valve, piston rod, cylinder, piston andpiston rings. The slide valve and the piston are connected by apiston rod. The principle of operation is using the oil pressureto drive the piston in the cylinder. The lubrication oil flows fromthe oil sump through the oil filter cartridge and capillary thenfills into the cylinder due to the positive oil pressure biggerthan the right side of spring force plus the high pressuregas. The positive pressure differential causes the piston tomove toward the right side in the cylinder. When the slidevalve moves toward the right side, the effective compressionvolume in the compression chamber increases. This means thedisplacement of refrigerant gas also increases, as a result therefrigeration capacity also increases.However, when any of the step solenoid valve (for 4-stepcapacity control system) is opened, the high pressure oil in thecylinder bypasses to the suction port, which causes the pistonand the slide valve to move toward the left side, and thensome of the refrigerant gas bypasses from the compressionchamber back to the suction end. As a result, the refrigerationcapacity decreases because of the reduction of displacementof refrigerant gas flowing in the system. The piston springis used to push the piston back to its original position, i.e.minimum load position in order to reduce the starting currentfor the next starting.Semi-hermetic twin compressorThe semi-hermetic screw compressor is developed especiallyfor applications in air-conditioning and refrigeration. With highoperating load design, each compressor is of high efficiencyand reliability in all operating conditions.
