Dear Co-laborer in Christ,Greetings! Have you noticed the importance for all of us to reflect on what our Heavenly Father has done in ourlives? Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright. (Psalm 33:1) As I think back, I amso grateful for the Godly heritage that was and is mine. Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: forthey are the rejoicing of my heart. (Psalm 119:111)The PACEs are chock-full of God’s Word and the character traits of Christ. These are found throughout thecurriculum and programs provided by Accelerated Christian Education. It is my earnest prayer that He will useyou daily to help instill the importance of His legacy into the hearts and minds of those He has placed in yourLearning Center. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed towardhis name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. (Hebrews 6:10)Take time to read this Accelerator, searching for insights, ideas, and opportunities that will enhance your students’learning as well as your ministry to them. As you move toward the end of the school year, I pray you may be filledwith the joy of giving your best to each one God has placed in your realm of influence. What an amazing opportunity God has given us to touch the hearts and lives of His children. For the LORD thyGod, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Copy for distribution to parents.aceministries.comThe Importance of Individualization“How do children learn?” The answer to this question canunlock the door to achievement for your child. AcceleratedChristian Education has done considerable research on thetopic of how children learn; and the results, along withother educational surveys, indicate that children: Have varying IQs and learn at different rates. Must learn specific developmental skills. Process information differently at differentdevelopmental levels. Learn best through mastery with repetition andthen review. Vary in their abilities to learn through visual, auditory, and kinesthetic/tactile stimuli.Accelerated Christian Education has developed adistinctive, individualized educational package thataddresses these issues. Consider these five factors that socritically impact your child’s learning.1. Since children have different IQs and learn at differentrates, testing to determine each child’s knowledge andperformance level is critical. Your school, when usingthe Accelerated Christian Education program, providesnot only standardized testing but also the aceconnect Diagnostic Test and educational prescription for your child.2. Testing reveals whether a child has attained certaindevelopmental skills. For instance, skills that areprerequisite to the learning-to-read process includesequencing, recognition of colors and shapes, relationships, coordination, and the ability to process some informationon a subconscious level while processing other informationon a conscious level. These skills are mastered in theKindergarten with Ace and Christi program.3. Children process information differently in varyingstages of physical development. Nearly all children frompreschool to puberty are able to answer the “who, what, when, and where” questions. At puberty, brain chemistrychanges, and most children are able to answer “how andwhy” questions. Accelerated Christian Education’s corecurriculum below seventh level concentrates its presentationon the “who, what, when, and where” questions, but “howand why” questions are heavily addressed at and aboveseventh level. These critical skills of deductive reasoningand logical thinking are necessary for your child’s collegepreparation as well as for his preparation for life.4. The Accelerated Christian Education program ismastery-based. Most children need to have a conceptrepeated several times for mastery. Therefore, vocabularywords are introduced, repeated, and practiced beforebeing tested. Academic concepts are presented in sequenceand mastered with repetition, then review follows.Progress is controlled, and your child moves on only afterdemonstrating understanding and mastery of the material.5. The Accelerated Christian Education program allowsstudents to learn using multiple forms of stimuli. Somechildren like to learn best visually, others auditorily orthrough “hands-on” experience (kinesthetically). Althoughchildren tend to want to learn through one medium—their dominant one—they have the ability and shouldbe encouraged to gain understanding of academicmaterial in different ways. You will notice that your child’sPACEs incorporate color, pictures, diagrams, and otherenhancements to stimulate learning. Students also have theopportunity for individual interaction by reading aloud ordiscussing concepts with a supervisor or a parent to assuremastery. Computer programs, such as Readmaster Plus, areespecially appealing and beneficial to the “hands-on” learner.Children learn on an individual basis, and AcceleratedChristian Education meets your child’s specific educationalneeds. To God be the glory—great things He has done andis doing for our children! Permission is granted by A.C.E. to copy this page.2

Traditional vs. Conventional EducationPeople have different ideas when they hear terms such astraditional one-room schools and conventional education. Most government-run and large Christian schools canbe classified as conventional education, while A.C.E. is asystem that truly follows traditional education methods.A.C.E.’s traditional, nonconventional approach mayseem odd to modern educators, but it possesses a soundeducational basis. The methodology behind A.C.E.’scurriculum not only follows the traditional path but alsoembraces traditional values and Biblical principles thatconflict with secular education. Some people have suggested that A.C.E.’sacademic approach most closely resemblesthe one-room schoolhouses of the 1800s andearly 1900s.These early schools were embedded in each community, both large and small. Scattered across the landscape, oneroom schoolhouses were only centralized in the sense thatthey were close to the students they served. As schoolsconsolidated into graded classrooms, all was based onadministrative convenience rather than individualizationof students. The control of the schools shifted from theparents in these local communities to school boards inlarge, centralized districts. While prayer and Scripturewere once observed in schools, they have been sacrificedunder the rally cry of “separation of church and state.”One-room schoolhouses of the past taught children howto read so that they could understand God’s Word. This3ideology mirrors the concepts found in the first nine versesof Deuteronomy 6: Fear the Lord.Keep His commandments.Hear God’s law.Observe God’s law.Love God.Hide God’s Word in your heart.Teach your children diligently.Constantly dwell on God’s commandments.Keep the commandments evident for all to see.As government schools have moved away from Biblicalteachings, A.C.E. assists schools in facilitating theBiblical command to train up children in the nurture andadmonition of the Lord. In many various ways, A.C.E.incorporates Scripture and character training throughoutthe program. In a world that lacks character, the PACEsinstill 90 of the character traits of Christ into students.

In the Learning Center—the modern version of a oneroom schoolhouse—there are clearly-defined procedures.Few other programs incorporate the educational essentialsprovided by the Five Laws of Learning. By following theA.C.E. program, students are placed at an appropriate levelof learning, shown how to set and meet appropriate goals, given motivation and control, and have their learningmeasured and rewarded. Through the structure of theLearning Center and its procedures, students learn toprepare for a lifetime of service for the Saviour in a worldthat increasingly has rejected the Bible. Deuteronomy 6:1–91 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teachyou, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:2 That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as theLORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and whenthou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.4

Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E.)stands behind the A.C.E. curriculum and methodology asbeing proven and time-tested amid a world of change. Inorder to assist your ministry with as many tools as possible,A.C.E. has developed two supplemental programs toenhance the learning environment of your school—Dual Enrollment and Accelerated College of the BibleInternational (ACBI).Model and Quality Status schools of A.C.E. ACBI isideal for recent graduates who are interested in becoming amonitor or supervisor.Six scholarships can be combined to give significant savingson tuition. ACBI is also offering the opportunity for a workstudy program at the A.C.E. International Corporate Officesin Hendersonville, Tennessee.Pastors, administrators, and staff who wish to pursue aChristian education degree qualify for discounts if theyhave at least five years of experience in a school using theA.C.E. curriculum. Adult learners may also apply theirservice toward credits in the two-year degree requirementsof ACBI.Essentially, students enrolled in LCA use PACE curriculumjust like any other student in a Learning Center. The schoolpays a nominal fee per student to LCA, and an academicadvisor charts the student’s academic projection toward anaccredited diploma. (Another cost savings for the schoolseeking third-party validation for their program.)ACBI can jump-start your high schoolstudents’ college education! As your students move forward with their courses of study, the self-paced nature of A.C.E.’s curriculum may put themin a position to finish Level 12 PACEs early. Dad, God has gifted you with theability to build and repair things. How will I know what to do when Igrow up?Right now, you should focuson growing “in grace, and inthe knowledge of our Lordand Saviour Jesus Christ.”Booker, God will show you whatyour strengths are as well. How do I do that? Why not start by reading the Bible allthe way through this year? See whatGod shows you from His Word.Character Counts!Knowledgeable is one of the 30 additional charactertraits recently added to the A.C.E. curriculum. These arecharacter traits we need to instill into our lives as Believers.Paul declared his purpose: That I may KNOW him, and thepower of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death. (Philippians3:10) The word “know” in this verse indicates what Paulreally desired. It was to have an experiential knowledgeof God— to really know God so that he could experienceGod working in him and through him to accomplish God’swill and purposes. God wants us to be knowledgeable—toreally know Him!Where does this knowledge begin?Proverbs 1:7 records, The fear of the LORD is the beginningof knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.Proper knowledge begins with having a reverential fearof God, realizing who God is and my proper relationshipto Him.The next step is to know His Word. Paul wrote: Studyto shew thyself approved unto God, a workman thatneedeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the wordof truth. (II Timothy 2:15) We need to know God’sWord by READING it daily, STUDYING it thoroughly,MEMORIZING it by hiding it in our hearts and minds,APPLYING it to our daily situations, and LIVING by itsprecepts. When we do this, we will be able to say with Paul,O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledgeof God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his wayspast finding out! (Romans 11:33)In II Peter 1:1, Peter wrote to those who had obtainedlike-precious faith through the righteousness of God. Faithis a gift from God. For by grace are ye saved through FAITH;and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. (Ephesians 2:8)God gives us faith to believe, then He desires for Believersto be “partakers of the divine nature” [that is, Christ livingin us] (II Peter 1:4). To accomplish this, in addition tothe faith given us to trust Him as Saviour, Peter said, Andbeside this, giving all diligence, ADD TO YOUR FAITH. Hethen listed seven Godly character qualities we need to addto our faith: virtue, KNOWLEDGE, temperance, patience,Godliness, brotherly kindness, and charity. God wants thesecharacter qualities to be a part of our lives. God desires us tobe knowledgeable!Peter continued, For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitfulin the KNOWLEDGE of our Lord Jesus Christ. (II Peter 1:8)He closed his book with this charge: But grow in grace, and in the KNOWLEDGE of our Lord and Saviour JesusChrist. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.(II Peter 3:18) God desires us to grow in our knowledgeof Him.God wants us to be knowledgeable. In summary, note the A.C.E. definition of theword KNOWLEDGEABLE, “Growing in a deepercomprehension of Jesus Christ that leads me to a greaterunderstanding of His Word and His will for my life.” MayGod help us to continue to add to our faith these qualitiesthat we might deeply KNOW Him and be used by Him forHis glory! 8
