Mark EmeryMay 23, 2019Amid the frequent strife we see and hear about: between the man-made andnatural disasters and the general suffering that goes on throughout the world ona daily basis, it’s not uncommon to hear people say something like, “if God wereall loving then why would he allow these terrible things to happen?” Thisrhetorical question is often repeated to challenge the nature of God if not hisvery existence. It is done by those who are very weak in faith (if they have any)and who seriously lack understanding. There are several answers to that question and books have been written on thetopic, let me be very brief and just touch on some concepts to help you get onthe correct path to receiving your own miracles. God wants to bless you withthem. I know they happen because I’ve experienced my own on severaloccasions and can speak from personal experience. So let me get you startedon the right path;#1. God gave us a covenant. If we honor the covenant and live according toHIS will, he also honors the covenant and showers us with mercy and blessings, provision and protection and more. Violate the covenant and turn your back tohim and those mercies and blessings disappear. This happens on an individualbasis and it also happens collectively to nations. HE created us with free will.We can choose between good or evil. Thus, we choose either HIS blessings byhonoring HIS covenant with us, or we’re just on our own to fend for ourselves inthis evil and haphazard world. I shudder at the thought.#2. Evil doers will incur the wrath of God. Our Father in heaven is a just Godand he will see to it that in the end, justice is HIS! Jesus came to the earth witha sword as the Lion of Judah which is the truth of HIS word. The mighty swordwas not to sow peace and love but rather, to separate and divide HIS peoplefrom the evil doers and ultimately to destroy the unrepentent evil doers bothphysically here on earth and eternally in the lake of fire.Yes, Satan does also reward his evil minions with riches and fame on this earthas we readily see in the entertainment industry, but that is hollow and very shortlived. When you’re running the mile track race, the objective is not to be in firstplace at the quarter mile pole! You may very well see evil doers living betterthan you but don’t be discouraged. The race is not yet finished! The bible gives us numerous examples of God meting out his wrath on evilpeople and on evil kingdoms and rulers. Anyone with the eyes to see and theWorld Mission Churchwww.worldmissions.worldPage 2

Mark EmeryMay 23, 2019ears to hear knows very well that we can see the signs of the season telling usthat we are in, or approaching, end times scenarios prophesied centuries ago.The wrath of God is ‘Just’ and is saved for those who choose evil over hiskingdom. For us sinners, ‘Fear’ of God is a good thing. His wrath is mighty if itcomes upon us. A healthy fear goes a long way to keep us on the correct path.Yet HIS blessings are just as mighty and more glorious if we choose thoseinstead.#3. HE loves us enough to correct us when we go astray. Jesus loves us morethan anyone can know. He desperately wants to spend eternity with you in loveand joy in heaven. He wants to bless you here on earth. And so, just like goodparents who love their child will punish that child for bad behavior to try andcorrect that bad behavior, Jesus does the same to us. He wants us to ‘see thelight’ and live in HIS kingdom both on heaven and earth to be in harmony withHIM as soon as we can learn to behave properly. When we stray off the path hemight kick our butts to get us back on track. But we always have the choiceand we can rebel and many of us do, sadly.#4. Some people need to be shaken strongly to awaken from slumber and findthe truth. I personally have had more than one occasion where my life ofsuccess needed to be reduced to rubble so I could learn a little humility andgraciousness for what I had in life beyond material success. Only then could Istart over from the beginning with a new and better attitude and build somethingon solid foundations. And when I did, my life was rebuilt to something evenbetter than what I could have imagined before the disaster. Many people whofind success give themselves too much credit and they forget who gave it tothem. Humility then can become a scarce commodity. This does not usuallyend well. God wants You in HIS kingdom, working by HIS side and you will dothings together which you never dreamed were even possible, going it alone.#5. We are refined by fire. Refined gold is produced from rough cut rock. Andonly after a refining process using extreme heat can the dross be burned awayleaving the gold in a more pure refined state. God does the same with us. Wego through trials and hardship and difficult times as a training ground to developour heavenly talents and refined characteristics.Athletic coaches often tell their players in excruciating physical conditioningdrills, ‘No pain - no gain!’ Strengthening and growth only comes from pushingourselves to the limit and it can hurt doing that. So the next time you areenduring hardship, give God thanks that he loves you enough to be working onWorld Mission Churchwww.worldmissions.worldPage 3

Your gift and your prayers along with the graciousness with which youaccept your own personal cross, will be a testament to your faith when the timecomes for ‘review’.Here are some pertinent scriptures to begin studying this issue on how to startreceiving miracles in your own life;Re: Access to GodAccess to God is needed to obtain mercy and grace:Hebrews 4:16Draw near to God and he will draw near to you:James 4:8Access to God is privileged to the saints of God:Psalms-15, 23:26 24:3-4, Deut. 4:7Those who are far from God will perish, it is thus good to draw near to God.Psalms 73:27-28Access to God is by Jesus.John 14:6-7, Romans 5: 1-2, Eph. 2:12-18Re: The Love of GodGod is faithful to those who love HIM and keeps his covenant and HE has mercywith them.Deut. 7:9 1 Corinthians 8:3God loves them that love HIM.Proverbs 8:17All things work together for the good of those who love God.Romans 8:28In order to love God one must obey HIS commandments.John 14:15, 21-24, 1 John 2:5World Mission Churchwww.worldmissions.worldPage 4

Mark EmeryMay 23, 2019Keep yourselves in the love of God looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus untoeternal life.Jude 1:21Re: The Power of GodThe power to do great things is given to those that have faith and doubt not.Matthew 21:21, Mark 11:23It is better to have faith in the power of God than in the wisdom of men; it isbetter to trust the Lord than to put confidence in rulers.Psalms 118:8-9, 1 Corinthians 2:5The above is only a small taste of the many scriptures we could pull out, but thisgives you a start on the subject. Now in view of the above, let’s try a little self analysis.Look at your own life and ask some questions vis-a-vis your obedience to thecovenant and worthiness of HIS mercy and blessings provided for in thatcovenant.-Do you love your Lord God with all your heart?Do you love your brothers on earth as you love yourself?Do you participate in usury?Do you pay tithes to another master?Do you practice idolatry? (knowingly or unknowingly - you might be surprised)Do you keep or even know the 10 commandments? What do you do on a daily basis to draw closer to Jesus and develop apersonal relationship with HIM?- Do you invite the Holy Spirit into your life every day to guide you and protectyou from evil and harm?- Do you thank God for that cold glass of clean water, the sunshine, for anotherday of life, for your upbringing and parents, for your livelihood and do youappreciate the ‘little things’?- Do you thank God for the training he gives you with trials in the refiningprocess? These, and many more, are all things to consider as you work to start expectingmiracles and receiving them.World Mission Churchwww.worldmissions.worldPage 5

Mark EmeryMay 23, 2019I have learned to expect miracles when I need them, and I get them. I’ll savethose stories for another day.Until then, start working on your miracles! God is waiting for you. Will you seekHIM?Many blessings!World Mission Churchwww.worldmissions.worldPage 6
