Do not touch hot surfaces.Allow the product to cooldown before moving or cleaningany parts. Heating element surface issubject to residual heatafter use. Always ensure the applianceis turned OFF, unplugged atthe power outlet and has beenallowed to cool before cleaning,attempting to move or storing. The appliance is not intendedto be operated by means ofan external timer or separateremote-control system. The use of attachmentsnot sold or recommendedby Sage may cause fire,electric shock or injury. Ensure youhave removed all parts and accessories beforediscarding the packaging.Clean the drip tray, drip tray grid, portafilter, filterbaskets and milk jugs using warm water and agentle dish washing liquid. Rinse well and drythoroughly before use.INSTALLING THE WATER FILTER1. Remove the water filter and water filterholder from the packaging.INOUT2. Set the reminder for the next month ofreplacement. We recommend to replacethe filter after 3 months.7. Fill the water tank with cold potable waterand reattached the machine, ensuring it isproperly attached and sitting flush to theback of the machine.FIRST USE1. Remove the water tank and fill with potablewater to the indicated MAX line. Replacethe water tank onto the machine. 2s2. Ensure that the drip tray is correctly2spositioned on the machine.3. Plug the power cord into the power outletand switch on.4. Press the 1 CUP, 2 CUP or STEAM buttonsto turn the machine on.5m3. Soak the filter in cold water for 5 minutes.4. Wash the filter holder with cold water.5. Press the 1 CUP button and the machinewill commence its first use cycle.6. Once complete, the machine will go intoready mode and all lights will be illuminated.The first use cycle is to rinse the machineand prime the heating system.5m5. Insert the filter into the two parts of thefilter holder. Ensure they are connected.6. Remove the water tank from themachine. Align the base of the filterholder with the adapter inside the watertank. Remove thewater tank lid and add potable water to the watertank, filling to the MAX marking indicated.MAXReplace the water tank onto the machine, ensuringit is properly attached and sitting flush against theback of the machine.If the 1 CUP, 2 CUP and STEAM buttons illuminate,the water tank has been correct attached.The machine will detect when the water level is low.The 1 CUP, 2 CUP and STEAM buttons will not beilluminated. COFFEE DOSE AND TAMPING Insert the filter basket into the portafilter. Grind enough coffee to fill the filter basket. Tap the portafilter several times to collapse anddistribute the coffee evenly in the filter basket. Using the tamper, tamp down firmly (approx.15-20kgs of pressure). The amount ofpressure is not as important as the consistentpressure every time.OFF As a guide, the top edge of the cap on thetamper should be level with the top of the filterbasket AFTER the coffee has been tamped.NOTEUse Razor dose trimming tool toprecisely control the dose of ground coffeeAFTER you tamp.When this occurs, add water to the water tank.Once there is sufficient water, all buttons will beilluminated and the machine can be used.FILTER BASKETSThis machine includes dual wall 1 Cup and2 Cup filter baskets.Use the 1 cup filter basket when brewinga single cup and the 2 cup filter basketswhen brewing 2 cups or a stronger singlecup or mug.The provided filter baskets are designed for:1 Cup filter basket 8-10g.2 Cup filter basket 16-19gTRIMMING THE DOSEThe Razor precision dose trimming tool allowsyou to trim the puck to the right level for a consistentextraction. Insert the Razor tool into the coffee basketuntil the shoulders of the tool rest on the rim ofthe basket. Rotate the Razor dosing tool back and forthwhile holding the portafilter on an angle overthe knock box to trim off excess coffee grinds.Your coffee filter is now dosed with the correctamount of coffee.9

2sPAGE HEADER.OPERATINGYOUR NEW APPLIANCEPRE-PROGRAMED SHOT VOLUME– 2 CUPPress the 2 CUP button once, the button willflash indicating that is has been selected. Apreset single espresso volume of approximately60mls will be extracted. The machine willautomatically stop once the pre-set volume hasbeen extracted. Wipe excess coffee from the rim of the filterbasket to ensure a proper seal is achieved inthe group head.PURGING THE GROUP HEADBefore placing the portafilter into the grouphead, run a short flow of water through thegroup head by pressing the 1 CUP button. Thiswill stabilise the temperature prior to extraction.INSERTING THE PORTAFILTERPlace the portafilter underneath the group headso that the handle is aligned with the INSERTposition. Insert the portafilter into the grouphead and rotate the handle towards the centreuntil resistance is felt.INSERT LOCK2sPlace your cup/s under the portafilter on the drip tray.PRE-PROGRAMED SHOT VOLUME– 1 CUPPress the 1 CUP button once, the button will flashindicating that it has been selected. A preset singleespresso volume of approximately 30mls will beextracted. The machine will automatically stoponce the pre-set volume has been extracted.NOTEPressing the 1 CUP or 2 CUP buttonsduring a programmed espresso willimmediately stop the extraction.MANUAL PRE-INFUSION AND SHOT VOLUMEPress and hold the 1 CUP or 2 CUP button for thedesired pre-infusion time. Release the button tostart the extraction. Press the flashing button againto stop the extraction. PROGRAMMING SHOT VOLUMEPress and hold the 1 CUP and 2 CUP buttons for 2seconds, the buttons will illuminate and flash. 2sTo set the 1 CUP volume: Press the 1 CUP button to start the extraction.Press the 1 CUP button again to stop theextraction. The modified volume will be saved.To set the 2 CUP volume, follow the above stepsbut select the 2 CUP button to start and stopthe extraction.10OFF

ENPAGE HEADER.OPERATINGYOUR NEW APPLIANCESETTING THE MILK TEMPERATUREThe machine has 3 milk temperature settings;1 Warm32 Ideal213 HotWhen turning on the espresso machine, the milktemperature setting will default 3to the lastchosen setting. Press the MILK2TEMP button1until the desired temperature is illuminated.SETTING THE MILK FOAM321The machine has 3 milk foam settings;1 Low32 Medium213 HighWhen turning on the machine, the milk foamsetting will default to the last chosen setting.Press the MILK FOAM button until the desiredfoam setting is illuminated.NOTEPrior to texturing milk, it is recommendedto momentarily purge the steam wand. Todo this press the STEAM button to startpurging and press it again to stop. Start with fresh cold milk. Fill the milk jug to between the min andmax position. Lift the steam wand and insert into the milk jug. Lower the steam wand, ensuring it is fully down. The milk jug must rest on the milktemperature sensor located on the drip trayand the milk should cover the steam wand tip.Milkshouldcoverthis part Press the MILK TEMP and MILK FOAM buttonsto select the desired settings. Press the STEAM button, the button will flashwhile texturing. The milk texturing will stop automatically whenthe selected milk temperature is reached. Lift the steam wand to remove the milk jug. Wipe the wand and tip with a clean damp cloth. Lower the steam wand to the down position andthe steam wand will automatically purge.NOTEPressurised steam can still be released,even after the machine has been switchedoff. Children must always be supervised.NOTEWhen the machine creates steam, a pumpingnoise can be heard. This is normal operation.NOTEUse only the supplied stainless steelmilk jug to froth milk using this machine.The use of other containers may lead todangerous conditions.MAXMIN11

PAGE HEADER.OPERATINGYOUR NEW APPLIANCEMANUAL MILK TEXTURING Auto milk texturing and auto shut-off aredisabled during manual milk texturing. Fill the milk jug to between the MIN andMAX markings. Lift the steam wand and insert into the milkjug with the steam wand tip 1-2cm below thesurface of the milk, close to the right-handside of the jug at a 3 o’clock position. Press the STEAM button to begin texturing. 2sSTEAM WAND PURGINGAfter texturing milk, the steam wand must bereturned to the lowered position and allowed toautomatically purge. Not doing so, could resultin the steam wand blocking.If the steam wand remains in the raised position,the machine will display a lower steam wandalert; illuminating the MILK TEMP and MILKFOAM lights in a downwards pattern, identifyingthat the steam wand needs to be lowered.To manually commence the steam wand purge,with the steam wand lowered, press and holdthe STEAM button for 5 seconds. Keep the steam wand tip just under thesurface of the milk until the milk is spinningclockwise, producing a vortex (whirlpool effect). With the milk spinning, slowly lower the jug.This will bring the steam wand tip to thesurface of the milk and start to introduce airinto the milk. Gently break the surface of the milk with thetip to get the milk spinning fast enough. Keep the steam wand tip at or slightly belowthe surface, continuing to maintain the vortex.Texture the milk until sufficient volumeis obtained. Lift the jug to lower the tip beneath thesurface but keep the vortex spinning. The milkis at the correct temperature (60-65 C) whenthe jug is hot to touch. When texturing is complete, press theSTEAM button. Remove the steam wand from the milk jug. Wipe the wand and tip with aclean damp cloth. Lower the steam wand to the down positionand the steam wand will automatically purge.12OFF

CARE & CLEANINGINOUTREPLACING THE WATER FILTER5mThe provided water filter helps prevent scale build-up in and on many of the inner functioningcomponents. Replacing the water filter after 3 months or 40L will reduce the need to descalethe machine.CLEANING CYCLEThe machine will detect when 200 extractionshave been carried out since the last cleaningcycle; this will be shown by the 1 CUP and 2CUP buttons alternately flashing.5. Fill the water tank to the MAX line thenreattached to the machine, ensuring it iscorrectly attached.6. Press and hold the 1 CUP and 2 CUPbuttons for 5 seconds to enter thecleaning cycle mode. To bypass the cleaning cycle; press the STEAMbutton. The machine will go back to ready mode,but will display cleaning alert again the next timethat the machine is turned on.1. Insert the provided cleaning disc intothe filter basket in the portafilter. 5s2. Place a cleaning tablet on top of thecleaning disc. 3. Lock the portafilter into the group5shead.4. Empty the drip tray and replace onto themachine. Place a 2L / 68 fl.oz containerunder the portafilter and steam wandsitting on the drip tray.2L68oz2L68oz145s7. Pressing any of these buttonswill cancel the alert and return the machineto ready mode.

5sENCARE & CLEANINGWARNINGTO DESCALE1. Empty the drip tray and re-insert intoposition on the machine.2. Rinse the drip tray and watertank and dry thoroughly before replacingthem back onto the machine.MAXSTEAM WAND BLOCKEDDuring milk texturing, if the machine detects thatthe steam wand is blocked, it will immediately stopoperating and the STEAM button light will be off.Both the milk temperature and milk foam lights willfully illuminate and flash. These lights will flash untila manual steam purge has been completed.CLEANING THE STEAM WAND The steam wand should always be cleanedafter texturing milk. Wipe the steam wand witha damp cloth.152L68o&

PAGE HEADER.CARE& CLEANING If any of the holes in the tip of the steamwand become blocked, it may reduce frothingperformance. Manually purge the steam wandto try and clear the holes. If the steam wand remains blocked, unscrewthe steam wand tip using the steam tipcleaning tool. Then use the cleaning tool tounblock the holes. Cleaning tool is located inthe back of the machine, under the water tank. Cleaning the Outer Housing Wipe the outer housing with a soft, damp clothand then polish with a soft, dry cloth.NOTEDo not use any abrasive cleaners, pads orcloths which can scratch the surfaces ofthe machine.NOTEDo not clean any of the parts oraccessories in the dishwasher. Rinse the steam tip and wipe with a clean,dry cloth. Reassemble the steam wand byscrewing the steam tip back on to the steamwand. Purge the steam wand after cleaning.CLEANING THE FILTER BASKETSAND PORTAFILTER The filter baskets and portafilter should berinsed under hot water directly after use toremove all residual coffee oils. If the holes in the filter baskets becomeblocked, use the steam wand cleaning toolto unblock the holes.CLEANING THE SHOWER SCREEN The group head interior and shower screenshould be wiped with a damp cloth to removeany ground coffee particles. Periodically run hot water through themachine with the filter basket and portafilterin place, without any ground coffee, to rinseout any residual coffee.CLEANING THE DRIP TRAY The drip tray should be removed, emptiedand cleaned after each use or when the driptray indicator rises through the drip tray grid. Remove the drip tray grid and wash bothparts in warm soapy water.16WARNINGDo not immerse the power cord,power plug or machine in wateror any other liquid.STORING YOUR MACHINEBefore storing, turn the machine off, switchoff and remove the power plug from the poweroutlet. Empty the water tank and drip tray andensure the machine is cool, clean and dry. Storein an upright position.Do not place anything on top of machine.RESET FACTORY ESPRESSO VOLUMESETTINGS1. Turn the machine off, by pressing the 1 CUPand STEAM buttons simultaneously for5 seconds.2. Press and hold the 1 CUP and 2 CUP buttonsfor 5 seconds. Buttons will illuminate.3. Press the 1 CUP or 2 CUP buttons and thelight will flash 3 times to indicate that allvolumes have been reset.4. Machine will then return to ready mode.NOTEPress any other button to exit factory resetmode.
