Financial AidThe purpose of financial aid programs is to assist students in overcoming economic barriers toattending postsecondary institutions. Following are the guiding principles of the financial aidprograms at Adult Career and Technical Education: The primary purpose of student financial aid is to provide assistance to qualified students who wouldotherwise be unable to attend this school without such aid. Students are expected to take primaryresponsibility for the financing of their education. Therefore, any financial aid a student may receivefrom our school should be regarded as supplemental to that which can be provided by the student. We believe in the principles of student self investment. Students are expected to save and provide aportion of their earnings for their educational expenses. In selecting financial aid recipients, we place emphasis upon need, achievement, and promise. TheFinancial Aid Advisors provide counseling for students who desire assistance in financial planning tomeet educational expenses. We admit students of any race, color, age, marital status, national or ethnic origin in theadministration of educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs or otherschool administered programs. Because the amount of financial aid awarded reflects the economic circumstances of the studentand/or family, we will refrain from any public announcements of the amount of aid awarded, andencourage students to also respect the confidentiality of this information.Following are the various types of financial aid available to our students: Pell Grants: This is a federal grant through the U.S. Department of Education.
