ABSN Curriculum8 9BLOCK CURRICULUMOur block curriculum lets you learn, apply, and master one subjectat a time. Each block covers a specific area of nursing, from healthassessment to older adult care to nursing leadership. The length ofeach block varies between two and eight weeks—it just depends onthe content area, nursing labs, and clinical rotations involved.ONGOING ASSESSMENTOngoing assessment is important in block curriculum becauseyou must master one block of content before moving to the next.To help ensure your progression in the program, we evaluate yourcomprehension of the material every few weeks. If you experiencedifficulty with certain content, we help you resolve areas ofmisunderstanding as soon as possible.REMEDIATION EFFORTSTo ensure your full comprehension of the curriculum, we require youto earn a 90% or higher on each block assessment. If you’re unable tosatisfy the requirement, we assign you corrective activities that let yourelearn the material and then undergo another assessment.THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF A SOLID NURSING EDUCATIONYour nursing education will progress from block to block, starting withan introduction to the profession and ending with a senior seminar innursing.
