Strapped around my shoulder is a meditation belt from [the fur of] a ferocious [beast]. I wear conchearrings in both �ེ་རིང་མ༔ �ནོར་བུ་དང༔ �ད་རྩི་བསྣམས༔DÜN DU LHA MO TSHE RING MA / CHAG YÄ YI ZHIN NOR BU DANG / YÖN PE BHANDHA DÜ TSI NAM /In front [of me] is the Goddess Tsheringma. In [Her] right hand, she holds a wish-fulfilling jewel and, in [Her] left, a vase of amrit. Filled with extreme ཡབ་ལ་རེག༔ �ྱ་ཡིས་འདེབས༔ �ུག་གཞོན་ནུ་མ༔SHIN TU CHAG PE YAB LA RIG / ZAG ME DE WA’I GYA YI DEB / ZENG TAB CHU DRUG ZHÖN NU MA /[she] touches the Father, sealing [us] in undefiled bliss. �ོ་རྗེ་ཡི༔ ་བཀྲག་མདངས་འབར༔ �ྒྱན་ཕྲེང་འཕྱངས༔ �ད་པ་ཡི༔KAR MAR LANG TSHO TRAG DANG BAR / CHER U RIN CHEN GYÄN THRENG CHANG / YAB YUM NYI SU ME PA YI /with the pink radiant beauty of youth. She is naked, adorned with dangling strands of jewels. Forms within the experience of the non-dual Father and Mother ��ོང༔ �ཟུགས་བརྙན་ལྟར༔ ��KU YING DANG SAL CHEN PO’I LONG / GYA TSHO’I NANG GI ZUG NYÄN TAR / GYÜ DE GYA TSHO’I KYIL KHOR SHAR /are like reflections appearing in the ocean of the expanse of the realm of great effulgent luminosity. Such is the emerging of the mandala of the ocean[-like]class of �ྗེའི་སྙིང་པོ་ལས༔ �ན་བླ་མ་དང༔ �ྱན་དྲངས་བསྟིམ༔NE SUM DORJE’I NYING PO LE / Ö THRÖ JE TSÜN LA MA DANG / GYAL WA SE CHE CHÖN DRANG TIM //From the essence of the vajras of the three places, light radiates out invoking the sovereign Guru as well as the Victors, [their] Sons, and [their] retinues whodissolve [into ��ྲ་ས་མ་ཡ་ཛ་ཛཿOM GURU HASA BADZRA SAMAYA DZA DZA ྡོ་རྗེ་ཡི༔ ་ཧཱུྃ་དུ་ཤར༔ �་སྤྲུལ་པའི་ཞིང༔ �ང་ཁམས་སུ༔GYU YI YI GE HUM DU SHAR / Ö THRÖ OG MIN TRUL PA’I ZHING / DAG PA KHA CHÖ ZHING KHAM SU /arises as the seed syllable HUM. From which light radiates out causing the emanated [Buddha] field of Akanishta to appear, the pure celestial �་གཞལ་ཡས་དབུས༔ �་སྟེང༔ �་སྦྱོར་བ་ལས༔DE CHEN RÖL PA’I ZHAL YE BU / MA CHAG PADMA NYI DA’I TENG / HUM BAB THRO DÜ JOR WA LE /In the center of an immeasurable palace, the play of Great Bliss, a HUM descends onto sun and moon discs above the lotus of non-attachment. From thisHUM, light radiates out and is ��ྡོ་རྗེའི་སྐུ༔ �གཞོན་ནུའི་ཚུལ༔ �ག་གསུམ་དང༔RANG NYI ZHÄ PA DORJE’I KU / KAR MAR DANG DÄN ZHÖN NU’I TSHUL / CHAG YÄ BA KAR TSHIG SUM DANG /From which I myself become the body of Laughing Vajra with pink complexion, resplendent with the appearance of youth. In [my] right hand, I hold a threecubit-long wooden ��ད༔ �་སྟབས་སུ་བཞུགས༔ �ར་ཅོག་གི༔YÖN PA’I THIL GYI DRAM TEG DZÄ / NAL JOR RÖL PA’I TAB SU ZHUG / U TRA RAL PA’I THOR CHOG GI /[While my] left palm is pressed against my cheek. I sit in the playful posture of a yogi. I have long hair that flows freely over [my] back.6

�ོ་རྗེ་ཡི༔ ་བྱ་བ་ལ༔Offering praise.ཧཱུྃ༔ �རོལ་པ་ལས༔ �ྐུར་སྟོན་ཅིང༔ �གདུལ་བྱ་འདུལ༔HUM – NANG TONG DE CHEN RÖL PA LE / YE SHE GYU MA’I KUR TÖN CHING / GANG DUL THAB KYI DUL JA DUL /HUM – [Arising] from the play of the Great Bliss of appearance and emptiness,[you] teach in the illusory Kaya of primordial wisdom [and] tame those to betamed through [myriad] skillful �ཆོག་ཁྱོད་ལ༔ �ག་འཚལ་བསྟོད༔ �ི་རང་རྩལ་ལས༔JE TSÜN LA MA CHOG KHYÖ LA / NAM SUM DÄ PE CHAG TSHAL TÖ / GYU THRUL RÖL PA’I RANG TSAL LE /12To You, the supreme sovereign Guru, I offer praise and homage with the three kinds of faith. [You appear] from the natural radiance of the play of �ེན་པ་ཆུ་ཟླའི་གར༔ �་ཅིར་ཡང་འཆར༔TEN DANG TEN PA CHU DA’I GAR / DUL JA’I MÖ NGOR CHIR YANG CHAR /As whatever is needed in accord with the individual dispositions of devoted disciples. The support and supported [are like] the dance of the moon [and themoon reflected] in �རྡོ་རྗེ་ཡི༔ st to remain & prostration.ཧཱུྃ༔ �དག་བླ་མ་རྗེ༔ �ོ་བོར་བཞུགས༔HUM – RIG GYA’I KHYAB DAG LA MA JE / DÄN SUM TSHANG WA’I NGO WOR ZHUG /HUM – All-pervading Guru, Lord of the hundred [Buddha] Families, remain in the essence of the complete three �ིད་བླ་མ་ལ༔ �ག་འཚལ་ལོ༔KU ZHI’I DAG NYI LA MA LA / NAM SUM DÄ PE CHAG TSHAL LO //To the Guru, the embodiment of the Four Kayas, I prostrate with the three kinds of �ལྷན༔ ན་མོ་ན་མ་ཧོཿBADZRA SAMAYA TISHTHA LHÄN / NAMO NAMA HO //10

The Root Sadhana of the Jetsün Milarepa,called „The Ferry of ��་མ་ཡོངས་དུས་པའི༔ �་འཚལ་བསྟོད༔GYÜ SUM LA MA YONG DU PA’I / KHYAB DAG PAL LA CHAG TSHAL TÖ //To the glorious all-pervading Lord, Guru of the three lineages, I pay homage and ��་བ་ལ༔Apology.ཧོཿ �ྤྱན་སྔ་རུ༔ �་ཉམས་ཀུན༔HO – RIG DZIN LA MA’I CHÄN NGA RU / DOM DANG LAB PA DAM NYAM KÜN /13HO – In the presence of the Vidyadhara Guru, I apologize with regret for all degenerated and broken vows and ཆགས་དང་བཅས་པ༔ �སླན་ཆད་སྡོམ༔ �ོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ༔DRIB NYI BAG CHAG DANG CHE PA / GYÜ PE SHAG SO LÄN CHÄ DOM / DAG CHING TSHANG PA’I NGÖ DRUB TSÖL //that I have committed through the two obscurations and habitual tendencies. Henceforth I vow to change. They are emitted from my mouth �ྱུད༔ �པདྨོར་ཐོན༔ �ུ་ཞུགས་པ་ལས༔YUM GYI ZHAL ZHUG KU’I YING GYÜ / YE SHE NYAM JOR PADMOR THÖN / DORJE’I BUB SU ZHUG PA LE /enter the mouth of the Mother, traveling through [Her] body. They travel out of [Her] lotus at the point of union of primordial wisdom [and] enter the sheath of [my] ་དགའ་བ་བཞིའི༔ �ས་མྱོས་ཏེ༔ �ུ་བརྙེས་གྱུར༔THUG KAR THIM PE GA WA ZHI’I / ZAG ME DE WA’I RÖ NYÖ TE / PHO WA CHEN PO’I KU NYE GYUR //[rising up and] dissolving in [my] heart. This elicits experiencing the taste of the undefiled bliss of the four joys. �ོ་རྗེ་ཡི༔ ྱོར་བ་ནི༔Enacting [Enlightened] �་དཔག་མེད་པས༔ �ྒྲིབ་པ་སྦྱངས༔ �ན་ཏན་སྤེལ༔ZHÄN YANG Ö ZER PAR ME PE / SEM CHEN KÜN GYI DRIB PA JUNG / TSHE SÖ YE SHE YÖN TEN PEL /Then infinite light rays [radiate], purifying the obscurations of all sentient beings, increasing long life, merit, wisdom, and ༔ ��༔ �ས་པ་ལས༔KHOR DE YONG LA NGA WANG GYUR / DRA GEG NÖ JE CHÖ KUR DROL / YAB YUM RIG PA THRÖ PA LE /16Securing dominion over all samsara and nirvana, [and] liberating enemies, obstructers, harm, and evil-doers into the Dharmakaya. Blazing Great Bliss fromthe ��འི་ཕྱག་རྒྱ་མོའི༔ ��༔ �ི་དཔལ་ལྟར་སྤེལ༔DE CHEN BAR WA’I CHAG GYA MO’I / TRUL PE TÄN YO’I KHAM NE GYUR / GA DÄN THRUL GA’I PAL TAR PEL //Emanates from the contact of the Father and Mother, Transforming everything in the world, both animate and inanimate. The spreading magnificence is[like the divine realm of] the Tushita Heaven of Emanated ��ྡོ་རྗེ་ཡི༔ ས་ནི༔Mantra ུན་བླ་མ་ཡི༔ �ྃ་དཀར་གསལ༔ �མ་བླ་མ་ཡི༔RANG NYI JE TSÜN LA MA YI / THUG KAR YI GE HUM KAR SAL / THA MAR GYÜ SUM LA MA YI /I myself am the sovereign Guru. In [my] heart is a luminous white HUM around the edges is a mantra [garland that is] the ��ང༔ �་མ་ལུས་པ༔ �སྔགས་འདིས་སྐོར༔SANG NGAG RIG NGAG ZUNG NGAG DANG / NYING PO NGAG NAM MA LÜ PA / CHÜ DU DRIL WA’I NGAG DI KOR //of every single secret mantra, knowledge mantra, Dharani mantra, and essence mantra of the Gurus of the three ཱཿOM GURU HASA BADZRA SAMATI GUNA SIDDHI PHALA HUM AH //14

ཤ་ཡ་ཕེཾ་ཕེཾ༔The Root Sadhana of the Jetsün Milarepa,called „The Ferry of Siddhis“OM GURU HASA BADZRA HRIM HRIM SARWA SIDDHI PHALA ABESHAYA PHEM PHEM //བརྒྱ་རྩ་བརྗོད༔Dies rezitiert man 100 �ིམ་གནད་རྣམས་ལས༔ �ེངས་ན༔ �འགྱང་བར༔ �་ངེས་པར་ཐོབ༔ �་གཏན་ཚིག་ཡིན༔ �་ཆེན་པོས་སྲུངས༔ ས་མ་ཡ༔ རྒྱ་རྒྱ་རྒྱ༔ གུ་ཧྱ༔If you do not let your mind waver from the essential points of generation stage practice described here, it is certain that the supreme siddhis will be obtained in nomore than three years. This is an undeceiving vajra promise. This text is guarded by the protector Maheshvara. SAMAYA. �ོ་རྗེ་ཡི༔ ��སོ༔ཧཱུྃ༔ �་ཀ་ནས༔ �་རཾ་ཡཾ་ཁཾ༔HUM – RANG NYI LHA YI THUG KA NE / JUNG WA’I NYING PO RAM YAM KHAM /HUM – From the heart of the Diety, I myself, radiate [the syllables] RAM, YAM, KHAM, the essence of the elements. ��་ཉེས་སྐྱོན་ཀུན༔ ��གྱུར༔THRÖ PE TSHOG KYI NYE KYÖN KÜN / SEG TOR JANG TRÜ DÜ TSIR GYUR //They wash the offerings, purifying, scattering, [and] burning all faults and obscurities, transforming [the offering substances] into amrit.20ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ༔OM AH HUM //ལན་གསུམ༔[Say] three �རྡོ་རྗེ་ཡི༔ ��སོ༔18
