COMPONENT & INDUSTRIAL INNOVATION INNO TION Products, Pr oducts, Inc. CONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS Bryant Products manufacturers a complete line of steel conveyor rollers for every Unit Handling conveying application. Generally, all rollers fall into one of two categories: Rollers for Gravity Conveyors - typically a light duty roller with low precision light duty bearings. Most of these rollers turn on a hex shaft that is spring loaded and snaps into the conveyor bed. Gravity conveyors rely on the inertia of the conveyed product to move - the rollers are not driven. Gravity rollers may be used in conjunction with driven rollers as idlers in a powered roller conveyor section. Driven Rollers - fall into&twoINDUSTRIAL classifications - those driven by chain or those driven by a belt. Either provide an effective powered CONVEYOR COMPONENTS roller conveyor section. Chain driven rollers have a sprocket or sprockets fixed to one end. Belt driven rollers have one or two drive grooves formed into one end of the roller and are driven by a belt that is circular in cross section. The belt may be a long serpentine unit driving a series of rollers or, in the case of a lineshaft system, one belt for each roller configuration where a single short belt engages one roller and a sheave on the lineshaft. Belt driven rollers are frequently equipped with higher capacity, higher precision bearings since the systems they are used in run heavier loads at higher speeds. Bryant Products is pleased to offer a wide variety of designs and components for either driven or gravity roller systems. Our design team will work with the application engineer to offer a perfect match of tubing material, bearings, axles and specialty components for each specific requirement. We carry an extensive assortment of materials, bearings and components which enables us to offer our clients the maximum performance in a minimum of lead time. There are four major component groups in a typical roller assembly: CONVEYOR Tubing Bearings Shaft - & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS Specialty Components - the outer body or shell of the roller the anti-friction member on which the roller shell rotates passes through the bore of the bearing and holds the roller in the conveyor frame. The bearings rotate about the shaft items such as sprockets, belt grooves, springs, washers, adapters, seals Typical Conveyor Roller Assembly CONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS Hex Axle Flat & Backing Washer Roller Tube or Shell Precision Bearing in Plastic End Cap Press Fit Construction Compression Spring Bearing Dust Shield/Hex Adapter Roller Shaft Conveyor Frame 4

COMPONENT & INDUSTRIAL INNOVATION INNO TION Products, Pr oducts, Inc. CONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS Tubing Tubing is available in a wide variety of sizes and gages ranging from 13/16" diameter to 6" in diameter. Several standard sizes; 1.5", 1.9", 2.5" and 3", can be manufactured from a pre-plated material, now commonly used by most large scale unit handling conveyor manufacturers. This material is available in 16, 14 and 13 gage with 16 gage being the most commonly used wall thickness. A variety of post plating options are available with a Chromate Sealer over Bright Zinc being the most common. Stainless steel is also available - 304 is the most commonly used grade. CONVEYOR Bearings & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS There is a wide variety of bearings and bushings available for conveyor roll applications. Most of the bearings produced for rollers 3"in diameter and less have hex shaped bores to accommodate hex axles of 1/4", 7/16" and 11/16" size. Bryant stocks most commonly used bearings and has immediate access to a vast array of more application specific bearings. Low Precision - Light Duty Bearings These bearings are of a stamped steel construction. The outer raceways are formed in the stamping process and integral with the outer cup of the bearing. The inner race is typically machined with a hardened ball track and an ID formed into a hex to accept the CONVEYOR axle. They feature a&fullINDUSTRIAL ball compliment. FullCOMPONENTS compliment bearings offer additional load capacity at the sacrifice of some RPM. Some may be fitted with a thermoplastic insert that contains the hex and provides a face shield for the bearings. While slightly more costly, these bearings offer quieter operation, with higher speeds and load capacities. Most of the bearings in this series are limited to 2.5" OD and are used for lighter application rollers. It is important to note that all of the standard bearings in this category are produced with bores to fit hex shafting only in sizes of 1/4", 7/16" and 11/16". Stamped Steel Outer Housing Full Ball Complement Machined Inner Race Hex Bore Bearings of one diameter may be stepped up to larger tube sizes with the use of machined washers, stamped steel adapters or thermoplastic end caps. We offer an all stainless bearing in this family, all CONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS components - inner ring, outer race, end cap and balls are produced in stainless steel. This product, in addition to being well suited to the most demanding food processing applications, offers higher capacities than its carbon steel counterparts. Low Precision - Caged These Medium to Heavy Duty bearings offer formed outer raceways that may be integral with the OD of the bearing and machined ID, with or without thermoplastic hex adapter. The balls are separated by a plastic or steel ball retainer or cage. They offer higher speeds and load capacities and are available in stock diameters up to 4". Larger rollers can be built with this series using machined steel washers. 5 Outer Dust Shield Hex Adapter Inner Dust Shield Bearing Cage

COMPONENT & INDUSTRIAL INNOVATION INNO TION Products, Pr oducts, Inc. CONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS Thermoplastic Step-Up Adapter Precision Ball Bearings Precision bearings are typically ABEC 1 motor grade bearings. These bearings feature machined inner and outer rings that are ground and hardened. They are fully sealed, factory pre-greased and offer the highest load and RPM capabilities of all the bearing options available. ABEC bearings are mounted to the roller tube by press fitting directly into the bore, press fit into a machined washer or fitted into a thermoplastic adapter. CONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS Plastic Ball Bearings These are light duty bearings for low loads and speeds where the primary concern is corrosion, rust or chemical resistance. The bearings have molded inner and outer races, generally have stainless steel balls and are available in either full compliment or caged construction. These bearings are often used with stainless steel tubes for food grade or field applications. For additional information on these materials, please consult the section on Thermoplastic and Specialty Conveyor Rollers. Integral End Cap & Outer Race Inner Race & Hex Axle Adapter Machined, Ground & Hardened Inner & Outer Races Thermoplastic Hex Adapter Balls & Cage Stainless Balls Molded Bearing Cage CONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS Bushings We offer a large variety of bushing materials if a rolling element bearing is not desired. Bushings offer the advantage of higher load capacity under lower speed conditions. Bushings are available in UHMW, Sintered and Oil impregnated bronze and wood. For additional information on these materials, please consult the section on Thermoplastic and Specialty Conveyor Rollers. Most bushings require a hex adapter to mate the round bore of& the INDUSTRIAL bushing to the hexagonal cross CONVEYOR COMPONENTS section of the axle. The adapter then rotates within the bore UHMW Bushing of the bushing. Bushing Hex Shaft Adapter Shafting The primary purpose of any axle is to mount the roller to the conveyor frame. A well designed axle will not rotate or move within the frame and will engage the bearing in such a manner as to cause the roller to rotate on the bearings and around the locked axle. Hexagonal Axles The overwhelming majority of conveyor rollers 3" in diameter and under use a hex shaft for an axle. All of the bearings used in these sizes from the light duty models to ABEC 1 precision units come with some form of hex adapter or form for the ID of the bearing. We offer hex shafting 1/4", 7/16" and 11/16" in both low carbon and stainless steel. The hex slips into a hex adapter in the bore of most bearings and locks into a mating hex on the conveyor frame insuring full rotation of the rolling element bearing. COMPONENT & INDUSTRIAL INNOVATION INNO TION Products, Pr oducts, Inc. CONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS Round Axles Round shafts are available in various configurations. It is important to note that a round axle must be locked on the frame to prevent it from rotating. This lock is necessary to force the roller to rotate on the bearings. Round axles can be tapped on the ends and secured and locked to the frame with a bolt. They can also be milled flat on one side and placed into a hole similarly punched or a round hole with a small strip of steel welded in such a manner as to engage the flat on the shaft and prevent it from rotating. Round shafts are typically used on larger diameter rollers with heavier loads and are fitted into the bore of precision bearings with a light press fit or with locking collars. Specialty Components CONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS Springs Many hex shaft rollers are fitted with a spring to facilitate assembly. The spring is fitted between an upset flat on the axle and the bearing. To install, one end of the axle is placed into the frame, the axle is then pressed against the spring and, in the retracted position, aligned with the hole on the opposite side of the frame. The rod is then released into position. The upset flats on the rod may be backed with washers for a more positive stop. Seals While many bearings offer seals, shields or fixed face shields, many highly contaminated environments require additional mechanical shielding of the bearings. Bryant makes a variety of labyrinth Labyrinth seals and guards for harsh environments, with an exceptional degree of particulate contamination. Seal Please consult the factory for details and be prepared to fully describe the environment and materials to be conveyed. Drive Grooves & drive INDUSTRIAL WeCONVEYOR produce rollers with grooves, eitherCOMPONENTS single or double row, for lineshaft and belt driven conveyor systems. The grooves are most commonly offered with 3/16" or 1/4" radius grooves of varying depths and can be formed in stainless or low carbon steel rollers. Most bearing and component options are compatible with drive grooved rollers and the rollers themselves are available in stainless and low carbon steel. Drive Grooves Sprockets We offer sprockets attached to any of our rollers. Sprockets can be welded in place in a single or double row configuration or CNC machined in our shop and added to the end of the tube as an end cap and bearing retainer. We also offer thermoplastic sprockCONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS ets for wash down applications, where plastic chain is being used or where a reduction in noise is desirable. Again, these products are CNC machined on site to your specifications. Adapters The OD of a particular bearing may be too small for the ID of the roller shell that it is intended for. Rather than go to the expense of selecting a bearing with a larger OD, it is faster and more cost effective to use a step up adapter. These adapters fall into three categories: Machined Washers - Are produced in either stainless or low carbon steel. The washer can range in thickness from 1/8" to 1/2" and is welded into the ID of the tube. Following the weld, the washer is precision bored using the OD of the tube as the locating surface. This insures a proper bearing fit and a bearing pocket that is concentric to the OD of the tube which provides a roller with reduced T.I.R. Stamped Cup Adapters - Performs the same function as the machined washer and are produced by the manufacturers of the bearings to insure a proper bearing to adapter fit. They are stamped from light gage steel. The bearing is press fit into the adapter and the resulting subassembly is then staked or swaged into the ID of the roller tube. Thermoplastic Adapters - Are most often used with precision ball bearings and are available for 1.9" and 2.5" diameter rollers. The most concentric adapters are insert molded over the bearing, minimizing runout and insuring the best fit. Other designs require the bearing to be press fit into the adapter. Either subassembly is then press fit or hydraulically swaged into the roller tube. 7 Stamped Bearing Cup

COMPONENT & INDUSTRIAL INNOVATION INNO TION Products, Pr oducts, Inc. CONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS Specifying a Conveyor Roller Assembly BF - Between Frames You must specify the BF dimension for the rollers. This may be in inches or millimeters. FW - Face Width Face width is a function of the BF dimension. Measured from the outermost face of one bearing to the outermost edge of it’s counterpart, the standard face width of all rollers manufactured at Bryant Products is 1/8” less than the BF dimension. OAL Overall length is measured from tube edge to tube edge. Since we carefully control the BF dimension to insure a proper fit of the CONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS roller into the conveyor’s frame, OAL may vary within the same face width with particular bearings being used. Shaft Specify the material Cross section - round or hex Size - specify a diameter or hex size Spring loaded for push in assembly Locking method if a round shaft is ordered Tube Material Please specify the tube diameter, gage and finish (plain, pre-plated or post plated) Bearings Specify the type of bearings required. Please note that not all bearings are available for every combination of tube diameter, shaft CONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS cross section and size. Consult the factory for availability. Accessory Items Be prepared to specify such items as drive sprockets or grooves, secondary seals for the bearings, special frame to roller mating components. COMPONENT & INDUSTRIAL INNOVATION INNO TION Products, Pr oducts, Inc. CONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS Conveyor Rollers From Bryant Products, Inc. Conveyor rollers are a highly customized product since the material to be conveyed, the environment in which it is being conveyed, and the speed at which the belt travels all vary greatly from application to application. Our rollers offer the designer customized roller assemblies from a wide variety of readily available stock components. For ease of ordering and engineering selection, we have grouped our component groups as follows: Roller Hardware Bushings Conveyor Roll Bearings–Bushing, Solid & Bearing Type CONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS Conveyor Roll Tubing Conveyor Roll Drives Roller Hardware Conveyor Roll Pins – available in either stainless or low carbon steel. They feature a 5/16 - 18 Internal Thread and are fixed to the conveyor frame with bolts. They have 7/16" outer hex sections to allow the use of a wrench for tightening. Roll Pins are used in conjunction with blind hole bushings or end cap bearings. This construction is suggested when the interior of the roll needs to be sealed from outside CONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS contamination such as wash down applications or where the rollers may be partially immersed. Through Shaft – available in either stainless or low carbon steel. Shaft is 1/2" OD and has an internal 5/16 - 18 thread. Through shafts should be used for more heavily loaded applications where there is concern about the cantilevered loading on Conveyor Roll Pins. Shaft extends 1/4" beyond outside face of end cap on both sides. CONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS Spring Loaded 7 16" Hex Shafts – a through shaft design that is used in conjunction with conveyor frames that have been pre-punched for their use. These 7/16" hex shafts are available in low carbon or stainless steel and facilitate rapid installation on the frame without the use of tools. The hex protrudes 13/16" on either side. Hex shafts require through bore bushings or ball bearing end caps. Hex adapters are used as an interface between the hex shaft and the circular bore of bushings or solid bearing material end caps and many of the ball bearings used in our Conveyor Roll bearings. Stainless or Low Carbon Steel bushings require either a self lubricated bushing or ball bearing for rotational movement. A self-lubricated UHMW adapter is offered that requires no additional bearing components and provides long life and excellent performance under rotational loads. 10

COMPONENT & INDUSTRIAL INNOVATION INNO TION Products, Pr oducts, Inc. CONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS Bearings & End Caps – Bushing Type There are two varieties of Bushing Type Conveyor Roller Bearing End Caps – Solid bearing material end caps are made from a self lubricated bushing grade material and require no bushings or bearings. Molded end caps accept either self-lubricated bushings or ball bearings. End caps that are equipped with bushings or ball bearings have the advantage over solid bearing material end caps in that they can be rebuilt and are less expensive than solid bearing material end caps. Worn bushings or ball bearings can be extracted from the roller end cap and new bushings press fit into the bore of the end cap. The advantage offered by solid bearing material end caps are greater load capacity, a simple one piece design and a greater lubricant supply. The use of bushings in conveyor rolls are recommended for driven applications or gravity feed applications for heavier products. Bushings have the advantage of longer life, higher load capacity and greater resistance to contamination and corrosion. Ball bearings may offer lower friction and can be preferable for lighter loads where starting torque is a concern. CONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS UHMW Bushings are self lubricated Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene using a food grade grease lubricant. UHMW is the most abrasion resistant of all bearing grade thermoplastic materials. With excellent surface lubricity and internal lubrication – they offer high performance, long life and high PV Values. UHMW BUSHING Wood Bushings are made from hard maple and are internally lubricated with a food grade fluid lubricant. This provides on demand lubrication during rotating motion in the presence of heat and friction. The lubricant film also offers some protection against corrosion and rusting to the mating metal surface. Wood is suitable for heavy loads and high speed applications – offering greater static and dynamic capacity than plastic bushings. Molded End Caps are designed to accept our UHMW or Wood bushings and offer an economical, high PV and rebuildable bearing system for your conveyor rollers. This is the strongly preferred method of construction when sliding contact bearings are desired. ABS End caps require the use of a self lubricated bushing. Molded CONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS specifically to precisely fit all of our standard tubing and bushing sizes, these end caps, when installed, provide a tight, even, seamless fit in retaining the bushing in the roller tube. End Caps for Roller Diameters of 2.38" or less are molded from Acetal. ABS is used in End Caps for the larger roller diameters. WOOD BUSHING AND ABS END CAP Solid Bearing Material End Caps Conveyor Roll Bearings do not require the use of bushings as they are machined as a solid piece from either our UHMW or Wood Bushing material as described above. They are formed from the same materials and exhibit the identical mechanical properties to the corresponding bushings. They are finished to the diameter of the shaft bore and are available in Blind Hole or Through Bore configurations. Generally, these bearings are used in conjunction with low carbon and stainless steel gage tubing sizes as they can be machined to fit the pipe bore. These roll bearings, however, cannot be rebuilt. These Conveyor Roll bearings are generally recommended for applications or gravity feed applications for heavier products. These bearings CONVEYOR &driven INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS offer longer life and accommodate higher static loads than ball bearing end caps. Bearings & End Caps – Ball Bearing Ball Bearing Conveyor Roll End Caps are generally recommended for gravity feed applications of lighter materials. They offer lower starting torque than bushing equipped end caps but do not have the life or static load capacity of bushing type end cap assemblies. Acetal Molded Ball Bearing End Caps are an injection molded ball bearing end cap. These are the least expensive ball bearing design units we offer and are suitable for light duty applications where cost efficiency is of paramount concern. They are available in stock sizes to fit a variety of bore and tubing diameters. Plastic Race Ball Bearing End Caps are a higher precision, higher capacity alternative to the Molded Acetal Ball Bearings. They feature 420 Stainless balls and, therefore, offer a non-corroding construction suitable for wet applications. The bearing elements are an integral part of the end cap assembly. Plastic Race Ball Bearings are designed to be used in conjunction with our PVC tubing and are typically used with hex shafting. Special Polypropylene Cap and race bearings with 316 Precision Stainless balls are available for highly corrosive environments. Precision, High Performance Ball Bearing End Caps feature a shielded or sealed, precision machined 6000 Series precision ball bearing in either a molded ABS or reinforced polypropylene end cap. Optional, stainless ball bearings are available. 6000 Series ball bearings offer the highest precision, longest life and greatest RPM and load capacity of our ball bearing end cap selections. These bearings are available in either a hex or round bore and in sizes to fit a variety of tubing diameters. End caps are available for 1.9", 2.38", 2.5", 2.88" diameter rollers. 11

COMPONENT & INDUSTRIAL INNOVATION INNO TION Products, Pr oducts, Inc. CONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS Tubing We use only the highest quality tubing for our rollers. This tubing is specifically extruded to our specifications and is ID, OD and Runout controlled. In comparison to commercial grades of thermoplastic pipe, our high quality PVC and reinforced UHMW tubing can run smoothly at higher speeds, is quieter under load, have heavier wall thicknesses and more durable surface finishes. We also offer a full range of steel pipe and tubing sizes where economy is a concern and where higher noise and resistance to corrosion or rust are not a major design issue. Steel Tubing is available in 2" or 2.50" Schedule 40 pipe in either low carbon or stainless steel. We also offer low carbon steel EMT tubing in 1.25", 1.5", 1.9" and 2" diameters, 16 gage. CONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS PVC Tubing is a high impact thermoplastic material and is available in outside diameters ranging from 1.90" to 2.88" in a variety of pipe sizes and wall thicknesses. PVC tubing has a service temperature range from -10 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Steel Reinforced PVC Tubing offers a steel reinforcement tube within the PVC roller. This construction greatly limits roller deflection and increases stiffness by a factor of ten. If rust or corrosion are anticipated, we suggest that Blind hole bearings or bushings be used to seal the interior of the tube from moisture and contaminants. Aluminum Reinforced UHMW Tubing provides a hard, slick surface and is the most abrasion resistant thermoplastic roller material available. It is longer wearing and therefore offers longer life than PVC tubing but a premium in price. It consists of a 16 gage aluminum liner in 1/8" wall UHMW. This brings added stiffness and load capacity to the benefits of UHMW tubing described above. METAL REINFORCED THERMOPLASTIC TUBING CONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS METAL REINFORCING OUTER THERMOPLASTIC CONVEYOR & INDUSTRIAL COMPONENTS TUBE LAYER Tapered PVC Rollers are machined from our standard grade of PVC and are designed for belt drive systems. Tapered rollers can be configured in a number of ways. For driven applications, tapered rollers can be configured with either a straight 2" drive sleeve or with a UHMW sprocket. For gravity applications, simply specify a tapered profile over the length of the tube. Roller Drive Components We offer two types of Roller Drives - grooved tubing for 3 16" round belt drives or Sprockets for #40 Chain. The sprockets are machined from UHMW material and can be reinforced with a steel sleeve for heavily loaded driven applications. Our round belt drives are roll formed directly into the tubing offering a seamless, single unit design. This eliminates additional components and potential fit and leakage problems at a reduction in cost to multiple component configurations. 12
