PTC MathCAD & Creo Parametric Integration Guide MathCAD and Creo Parametric are well integrated and the process is documented. This one-page guide aims to clarify this process. Prerequisites: User must have Creo Parametric and PTC MathCAD installed. See Article CS201396 for version requirements. How to Integrate PTC MathCAD & Creo Parametric: 1. Open Creo Parametric a. Creo will create an embedded MathCAD worksheet, so there is no need to open MathCAD separately. b. If you have already created a MathCAD worksheet, when you establish the connection (Step 1 in CS201396), Creo will duplicate the worksheet, embedding the connected copy. The original worksheet will not be connected to Creo. 2. Starting at Step 1, follow the instructions in Article CS201396, “How to integrate Creo Parametric and Mathcad Prime using embedded worksheet” https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS201396 a. This article explains the steps required, but is missing a few details that this guide will fill in. b. If you don’t have access to that article, its contents are included starting at Page 2 of this guide. 3. Note that once the two are connected, to update the Creo Parametric model it’s necessary to regenerate the Creo model any time the MathCAD outputs change . Create a new PTC Mathcad worksheet embedded in the active model. In Creo select Applications Open/Create Worksheet in PTC Mathcad 2. Create some equations Select an evaluation region, then select Input/Output As sign Outputs under tab to define output by following the help. Select Show in Worksheet for review Input/Output After Assign output for equation, there will be added Out at upper left corner of equation User can modify the Alias name of output parameters in Input/Output Designation dialog 4. Select Save and Push icon to publish parameters to Creo or press CTRL S 5. 6. To review embedded Mathcad output parameters in Creo parameter list, select Embedded Mathcad as Look In Parameters dialog If in an assembly, select the object from the Model Tree 7. To populate the embedded Mathcad output parameters in Creo relation, select Local Parameters Filter By Current and all sublevels Make sure the relation is created in Look in Part the current model . 8. Assign the output from Mathcad to a Creo Parameter by following the syntax: parameter output alias :MATHCAD Select Execute/Verify Relations OK 9. The regeneration manager turns yellow. 10. Regenerate to apply the changes. Page 5 of 8 Digital Transformation Curriculum ptc.com/academic-program

Input parameter from Creo to Mathcad 11. To input parameter from Creo to Mathcad, select definition operator equation, then select Assign Inputs under Input/Output tab to define input 12. Select Show in Worksheet for review Input/Output After Assign input for equation, there will be added In at upper left corner of equation 13. 14. After Save and Push was completed successfully, review the Mathcad input parameter under Creo Parameter list 15. Assign Creo parameter/dimension to Mathcad input parameter by Creo relation 16. 17.
