5200 Hydraulic & Pneumatic Seals & Packings

The Parker Advantage Parker Packing Products When you specify Parker Packing, you get the broadest product range in the industry. Parker will meet your requirements for any application no matter what the size, style, tolerance, or materials, including plastic, rubber, PTFE, and specially-formulated compounds. Parker Packing products include: U-Cups Rod Wipers/Scrapers Piston Seals Rod Seals T-Seals Canned Wipers PTFE Seals Auxillary Devices Metric Mining Seals BT U-Cups - Parker’s BT U-Cup is a third-generation product with superior qualities compared to standard U-Cups. Many U-Cups allow seepage. The Parker BT U-Cup, however, includes a buffer ring, keeping the seal dry through even the most stringent service. The BT U-Cup is made from Parker 4300, a unique, low compression set polyurethane material, and meets the requirements of most Original Equipment Manufacturers specifications. PolyPak Seals - The Parker PolyPak is a patented precision-molded multi-purpose family of sealing devices combing an ORing-type O-Spring with a conventional lip seal. This produces a unique product which seals in vacuum, high or low pressure. The Parker PolyPak gives you many advantages, including: Superior sealability - The Parker PolyPak provides an excellent seal, from a hard vacuum to more than 60,000 psi. It won’t leak under low pressure like many conventional U-Packing seals. The seal also maintains lip loading on the I.D. and O.D. interface during temperature extremes. No matter what size or compound you need for you application, Parker Packing can supply it. PTFE Seals - Parker's PTFE seals are ideal for both static and dynamic applications. Parker FlexiSeals for example, work in temperature extremes, seal from hard vacuum to 40,000 psi, and can tolerate high reciprocting surface speeds. The FlexiSeal design eliminates creeping common among similar seals, and includes spring loading for long-term resilient memory. Other Parker PTFE Seals include FluidPower Seals and a wide range of piston and rod seal types. Parker Packing combines the experience of our skilled engineering team with the latest technology and advanced materials to design cost-effective solutions such as the canned wipers shown below.

Product Engineering & Design Product Engineering - Our experienced engineers use CAD drafting software, InPHorm software, and Finite Element Analysis to develop the right product for the application. We offer unparalleled technical assistance to tackle even the toughest sealing problems. InPHorm For PolyPak Seals - This Windows-based software is the first ever created for PolyPak design and material selection. This software allows customers to draw on Parker’s vast engineering and design resources to choose material and profile selections and gland design — right at their own computers. In addition, InPHorm provides instant access to complete test reports on many popular Parker sealing materials. Finite Element Analysis - This leadingedge technology can provide costeffective solutions to meet your elastomeric sealing demands. In essence, F.E.A. process allows us to simulate the behaviour of a proposed seal profile in its gland under various pressures, providing vital information on seal performance prior to production of prototype parts in developmental situations. Testing Facilities - Parker's extensive in-house hydraulic and pneumatic testing facility validates seal designs and components. We have two hydraulic test stands (of 100 & 150-horsepower) which simulate the environment the seal and cylinder will undergo in the field. We provide you with the test data varifing that your product will perform effectively and efficiently . . with Parker seals. Materials - Parker Packing offers the widest range of materials available in plastic, rubber and PTFE. Our polymer engineers have a dedicated team of research and process chemists to develop new compounds and formulas. We compound our own materials, so you never receive generic “off-the-shelf” products. That means we’ll provide you with the best material made specifically for your sealing need — not just what’s easy to manufacture or buy. Materials include: Polyurethanes Hytrels Nitriles Fluorocarbons Silicones PTFE Peek Nylon 4300 Polyurethane - One of our newest compounds, P4300 is unparalleled in the sealing industry. It is a high-temperature polyurethane compound that quickly rebounds in high-pressure environments. Parker P4300 performs better than standard Polyurethanes in technical testing. P4300 exceeds all major OEM elastomer requirements for urethane. When exposed to high temperatures, traditional urethane materials quickly revert - but look at the sample seal made of Parker's new 4300. When the heat's on . . . We Deliver!

Overview of the Parker Packing Engineering Service Area at the Salt Lake City facility Parker Packing Advantages . . . Finding effective sealing solutions for fluid power components can be complicated. New, high-energy hydraulic systems, higher operating temperatures, pneumatics, and more complex hydraulic fluids mandate the use of high quality, reliable sealing and packing devices. The Parker Packing Division designs and produces "total sealing systems" that provide the customer with the most effective combination of seal design, material and cost. Our goal is to provide customers and end users with reliable, longterm hydraulic or pneumatic sealing performance. Applications - Parker hydraulic and pneumatic seals and packings are used in a wide range of applications and industries, including: Fluid Power Motion and Control Robotics/Pneumatics Oil Field & Petrochemical Worldclass, Worldwide!
