There is excitement in the air and everyone is eager to learn! I truly believe that this will be the best year ever! All staff members strive to make this the best school possible for all children. Yours in education, John Druba

“Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.” – Mother Teresa Around Our Halls 4th Grade - 4th graders are utilizing the "SPAT" writing method when writing letters to Mr. Hite regarding our goals for the school year. 5th Grade – The students are getting familiar with switching between subjects. The 5th grade teachers are excited to see the students work on their responsibility. 6th Grade – 6th grade students are working at learning routines and rotations. In science, they are working on engineering standards, and seem to be pretty excited about it. In math, students are mastering ratios and unit rates. In reading, they are building vocabulary skills and working hard on comprehension. Music News 5th and 6th Grade Bands are growing in great numbers this year! Please turn in all forms, permission slips, and rental agreements to Miss Gasser. Music Class is requesting cleaning supplies to help keep germs away. Sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer can help reduce the spread of germs and reduce sickness in our school. We love to share instruments and music, but not germs. Teacher Spotlight Ms. Davis, 4th Grade Teacher Interview by: Ellie Burt, 5th Grade Student Please tell a little about yourself. I am 38 years old and have 3 daughters (Abigail, 7th grade. Ellie, 5th grade. Charley, kindergarten). We spend a lot of family time together either cooking, making slime or playing outside. If you've been to my classroom you know that I am a total "girly girl" and love flowers; however, something you may not know is that I love football! I love all sports but the more aggressive the better! I often watch WWE Monday Night Raw and attend hockey games. (Only 21 more days until the first football game!) I am excited about becoming a part of the SCES family and getting to know everyone better More about Ms. Davis Why did you move here? I am engaged to a wonderful man, Phillip Meyer. He is from this area and over the last few years I have come to love country living as well. We are looking forward to joining our families and making Switzerland County our forever home. Do you like teaching here? Absolutely! I have met so many nice people (adults and children) since I joined the SCES family. I have been teaching in Louisville, Kentucky for the last ten years so I definitely am learning to adjust to a school that is located in the middle of the beautiful country.
