PAGE 2 MOOSE CALL A message To our members SENIOR REGENT’S MESSAGE GOVERNOR’S MESSAGE Hello Everyone, Hello Everyone, The pre-pit and the Luau was a success! Everyone enjoyed each others company and the festivity. To all the WOTM who decorated, prepared and served the good food and the brothers on the pit crew, a Job Well Done! The Monday after the Luau, Bill Thompson and crew started to do some remodeling in the dining hall. They replaced ceiling tiles, removed paneling, installed chair and table rails and then painted. This task should be completed the first week of this month. The Moose Convention in Reno will be September 13th-16th. The LOOM and the WOTM may need volunteers to help in kitchen, Friday Night and Sunday Morning, while the officers and some members are in Reno. The District Meeting will be held at our lodge on Sunday the 23rd. If you have never been to a meeting, you are welcome to join us at 1pm. A reminder that all member will conduct themselves in a gentlemanly and ladylike manner. Vulgar, profane indecent or unbecoming language conducted in the Social Quarter or Hall is absolutely prohibited. Members are also responsible for the conduct of their guest at all times. Participation in the Social Quarter of any lodge is a privilege and not a right of membership. The Super Moose for September is Bill Thompson, for all his work to help support our lodge. We hope you had a fun-filled Summer and we hope your/our lodge was a part of it. We had a very successful Luau, thank you to all that volunteered and supported it. Our Lodge’s Labor Day BBQ is schedule for the 3rd of September. September will also be filled with the Moose Convention being held in Reno at the Atlantis, from the 13th to 16th. Plan to attend if you can. There is lots of useful information from Moose International. This month is the Star Recorder Chairman Mona Routzong. Mona will be having breakfast, pie sales and two Friday night dinners. Please help her if she needs it. Due to extenuating circumstances we are in need of a Senior Regent. Anyone who would like to run for this position, please contact the WOTM Office. We also need a chairman this year, to chair Mooseheart/Moosehaven months. Please keep in mind our annual, very fun Barn Dance is coming up in October. Our Special Moosette for this month is Laura Kriss. Laura is the WOTM Musician, the LOOM funeral chairman and she volunteers for many different functions. Thank you Laura for all you do for our Chapter. Fraternally yours, Rick Lutz Governor Sincerely, The WOTM Board of Officers Administrators Report Now that we have both new card readers installed, remember to use your current membership card to open either the main (east side) door or the south door. Please slide your card slowly and listen for the beeps, then you have 7 seconds to open the door. You will still need to show your current membership card upon entry to ensure that other non members/guests do not enter the lodge behind you. This is to satisfy our private club and IRS requirements. Fraternally yours, Joe Zenkus

MOOSE CALL PAGE 9 MORE INFO FOR YOU. Lodge Beautification What a phenomenal effort by a few dedicated Moose members to update and improve our Lodge. Bob helped me remove the old panels along with Chris. Hal has been replacing the really old ceiling tiles and that is hard work! Leon has been rocking it fixing our walls and mudding everywhere there were old panels. Gary and his crew removed everything from the walls so we could prep and paint. Chris (Rembrandt) primed the chair rails. Joe routed all of the chair rails which was a job! Larry provided half the tools and helped paint. I helped Leon mud and did the wall texture along with buying everything needed. And of course our awesome members who contributed to the project. This is only the first 5 days but wow, what a great effort to update and improve your Lodge! Lots more helpers to recognize next month and the Social Quarters will get new ceiling tiles and repaired footrests soon as well!! We are also collecting alcohol to start a bucket of booze raffle. All proceeds from the Bucket of Booze Raffle will go toward the lodge beatification project. -Bill Thompson Adopt-A-Highway We will meet on the first Sunday of each month. We will depart from the Moose Lodge at 7:30am for our section of the highway clean-up. Remember ankle high boots, long pants and appropriate upper body wear is required. The hard hats, orange vests, pickers, gloves, eye wear and trash bags are furnished by Cal Trans. We are in need of more members to help us clean-up the highway. Please consider helping once a month. Both men and women are welcomed to join us. The Lodge will treat us to a buffet breakfast when we return. So come on out and help in the community service. Hope to see you there.
