PC–Download Instructions In order to download E-Books from the Thieme E-Book library to your PC to read offline, you have to install Adobe Air and the iPublishCentral Reader. Please note that the iPublishCentral Reader needs to be authenticated after installation in order to access the Thieme E-Book Library titles. It is recommended that when installing the iPublishCentral Reader, you do it from a location that is part of the registered IP-network of your licensed institution (either directly on the campus network, or through proxy or VPN). To ensure you are connected to the campus network prior to installation, check that you are able to view titles online in the Thieme E-Book Library by visiting http://ebooks.thieme.com/bookshelf. If you are able to view titles online, you are connecting from a valid authenticated connection and can proceed with the iPublishCentral Reader installation. 1 Download Adobe AIR First download install Adobe AIR (if Adobe AIR is already installed, please advance to step 2). Please note that if you are not running the most current version of Adobe AIR, you will be asked to update it. To download Adobe AIR please visit: http://get.adobe.com/air/ 2 Download the iPublishCentral Reader To download the iPublishCentral Reader, please visit: http://ebooks.thieme.com/bookshelf Under “Read Offline” in the upper left hand corner of the Thieme E-Book Library please select “Download iPublishCentral Reader”.

PC–Download Instructions 3 Install the iPublishCentral Reader Scroll to the bottom of the iOffline Installation Instructions page until you get to the Download section. Select “Install Now” and follow the download instructions to install the iPublishCentral Reader. 4 Login to the iPublishCentral Reader The iPublishCentral Reader will open automatically once it has been installed. Select “Login” from the upper right hand corner to access the login window.

PC–Download Instructions 5 Authenticate the iPublishCentral Reader Once the login window has opened, please select “Institutional User” and enter the Thieme E-Book Library site URL: http://ebooks.thieme.com Select “Sign In.” (Please note that this is the authentication process. If you are not within the registered IP-network of your licensed institution, you will be unable to access the Thieme E-Book Library.) 6 Download E-Books to your PC to read offline Select download next to the title you would like to download, or if you wish to download multiple titles select the check box next to a title and select download in the bottom left hand corner of the page. The Titles will then be downloaded to your computer. Alternatively you may also download titles directly from the Thieme E-Book Library http://ebooks.thieme.com/bookshelf once the iPublishCentral Reader has been installed. To access titles that you downloaded to read offline, please access the iPublishCentral Reader under “My Programs” or the “Shortcut” on your desktop.

iPad–Download Instructions 1 Download the iPublishCentral Reader App In order to download Thieme E-Book Library books to your iPad, you will need to download and install the iPublishCentral Reader App. Browse the iTunes Store on your iPad (search for “iPublish Central Reader”). Alternatively you can download the app to your computer via an iTunes account and sync it with your iPad. The app is free; your Apple/iTunes account will not be charged. 2 Download an E-Book from the Thieme E-Book Library From within your university wireless network launch your iPad browser (note: we currently support the Safari browser only) and navigate to http://ebooks.thieme.com/bookshelf Inside the Thieme E-Book Library, you will find the list of titles. Browse to a title of interest and click on the Download link. This will take you to the Download page. 3 Click on the download icon

iPad–Download Instructions 4 And then click “Open in Reader” 5 Your title will download into your iPad’s Bookshelf within the iPublishCentral Reader App Click on the E-Book that you just downloaded to access the book. To download additional E-Books, follow the instructions in step 2.

Return to Bookshelf View all Bookmarks View Note View all Notes Table of Contents Search within a Book Contrast / View Settings 7 Select the iPublishCentral Reader App from your desktop to access titles that you downloaded from the Thieme E-Book Library at anytime.
