Love Saves the Day Festival Thursday 2nd & Friday 3rd June 2022 Reply to Mr Thomas Paine, enquiries@lovesavestheday.org Onsite contact number 0330 120 1651 (operational Monday 23rd May - Monday 6th June 9am - 6pm) Dear Local Resident and Neighbour, We are writing to you to update you on our plans since being awarded our licence to hold Love Saves the Day Festival at Ashton Court in 2022 and to follow up on the previous consultation we had with local residents back in 2019. This will take place on the first two days of the Jubilee Bank Holiday, Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd of June. We continue to invite feedback and input into our plans from local residents and neighbours to ensure that the proposed event causes minimal disruption to those who live nearby. The festival has been running since 2012 and is now a well-established event in the Bristol calendar. We had hoped to move to Ashton Court in 2021 but due to Covid 19 we were unable to until now - we are really looking forward to putting the festival on there in 2022. At Ashton Court, we will be able to accommodate more people and are hoping to attract 30,000 ticket holders each day. As a Production Company, we have previously managed similar numbers at The Downs Festival. Love Saves the Day will be a ticketed event, running from 12:00-23:00 on both Thursday and Friday. There will be stages of music alongside smaller venues, theatre and dance performances, food and drink stalls and decorations throughout the site. We will be contributing a significant hire fee to Bristol City Council for the use of the site – and this money will go into their budget for maintenance of Ashton Court and other green spaces in the City. In addition to this we will pay a large security deposit to the council in advance of the event that will ensure that should any damage to the ground be caused by the event it is repaired or replaced at our own cost. Our application to hold the event at Ashton Court Estate will be facilitated by Bristol City Council’s Events Team via the site permissions process and our event plans will be reviewed by the Safety Advisory Group (members include Avon & Somerset Police, Avon Fire & Rescue, South West Ambulance Service and relevant council departments from both North Somerset and Bristol) throughout the planning of the event to ensure that our event is carried out professionally and safely. We are committed to causing minimal disruption to local residents. The purpose of this letter is to give you notice of the event plans and to outline measures we are taking to minimise our impact on the local area. We worked closely and collaboratively with local residents and the Friends of Eastville Park Group during our time there and also with the residents of Sneyd Park for The Downs Festival. We always prioritise building a strong and trusting relationship with local residents and friends groups - we hope to be able to do the same at Ashton Court. We expect the entire build and break period to last for approximately three weeks. This amount of time is required to install the necessary infrastructure to put on a safe event of this size. Our plans only encompass one section of Ashton Court, so there will be large green areas still available for use by other members of the public at all times. We will be installing ground protection so vehicles can move around the site with ease to minimise any effect on the ground. A full ground reinstatement plan, should it be required, will be agreed with the Council. We will

consult with the relevant departments at the Council and use their expertise regarding wildlife to inform our plans. Noise Management There will be increased noise in the area on the event days. We employ an independent specialist noise management company to carry out tests throughout the event to ensure that levels do not exceed those set by the Council. They will take readings from various points offsite including local residential areas. We have designed our site layout first and foremost with local residents in mind. This map is an overview of the main stage position and the expected sound direction. The event arena will be in the ‘bowl’ that is also used by the Balloon Fiesta. The main stage will be positioned in the South East corner of the field, with the music being projected in a NorthWesterly direction. If you have any concerns that you would like to raise prior to the show, please contact us on enquiries@lovesavestheday.org. During the event weekend, we will be contactable on 0330 120 1651. Sound checks are scheduled to take place between 11:00 - 19:00 on Monday 30th May Wednesday 1st June and 10:00 - 12:00 on Thursday 2nd & Friday 3rd June. Waste Management: We will be working with a professional waste management company that specialises in sustainable practices. They will provide us with an offsite team who will respond to residential reports of festival-related litter build up. Any concerns about event rubbish during the event can be called in to 0330 120 1651. After the event, our Waste Management Team will be working until Thursday 9th June to ensure that the Estate is cleared of all festival litter. Traffic Management We will have a full traffic management plan in place which will include an event service partnership with First Bus to enable a large proportion of ticket holders to get to and from the event.

To ensure the safety of pedestrians and maintain emergency access to the site, it has been deemed necessary to apply for a number of road closures on the days of the event. Kennel Lodge Road will be closed from 06:00-01:00 on Thursday 2nd & Friday 3rd June. This is the main pedestrian route into the event and as well as helping to keep people safe, it will prevent vehicles stopping to drop off in this area. The following residential roads will also have closures in place between 08:00 and 01:00 on Thursday 2nd & Friday 3rd June: 1. Courtlands Lane 2. Allotment Access Route 3. Parklands Road 4. Blackmoors Lane All residents will be allowed through the closures to access their property. Our stewards will be manning the roads and will adopt a common-sense approach, whereby anyone with a copy of this letter, proof of address (such as a utility bill) or who displays a clear knowledge of a specific property they wish to visit, will be able to gain access. We have not put a full pass system in place, as we are trying to keep it as straight-forward as possible for residents. It has also been deemed necessary to close sections of the B3128 and the A369 between 21:00 - 01:00 to cover the period of peak egress from site. Full diversions will be in place. Please see maps below:

We are currently in consultation with Bristol City Council about the possible requirement to close Clifton Suspension Bridge during the egress period. If this is deemed necessary by the relevant authorities, advance signage will be put in place. If you would like to be kept updated about this specific element of the traffic management plan, please contact us on enquiries@lovesavestheday.org. Resident Tickets We are offering a resident ticket scheme whereby qualifying addresses will be able to buy tickets at a reduced price. (Please note that you will need to pre-register before you are able to buy these tickets): Love Saves the Day 2022 - Thursday 2nd June 25 BF Love Saves the Day 2022 - Friday 3rd June 25 BF
