1. GENERAL A. Squadron Leadership School (SLS)/Corporate Learning Course(CLC) 1. The primary purpose of the SLS is to enhance a senior member’s performance at the squadron level and to increase understanding of the basic function of a squadron and how to improve squadron operations. Upon completion of the school, members should be able to: understand the basic expectations associated with being a CAP member; commit to serving as a staff officer or NCO, develop an appreciation for the essential role squadrons play in CAP; acquire practical knowledge necessary for serving as a staff officer, and comprehend the leadership attitudes and skills necessary for serving effectively as a squadron staff officer. NOTE: Prerequisites for attendance are completion of Level I and enrollment in one or more specialty tracks. 2. The CLC is designed to explain how a wing operates in each of CAP’s major mission elements and how mission support functions support these mission elements. Armed with this knowledge, senior members can learn how they and their respective organizations can best support the wing and fulfill the corporate role of CAP. Upon completion of the course members should be able to: identify the function of the three mission elements of the wing, explain how the wing operates to carry out the Aerospace Education mission, explain how the wing operates to carry out the Cadet Programs mission, and explain how the wing operates to carry out the Emergency Services mission. Additionally, members will be albe to explain how the mission support functions support the three mission elements of the wing, analyze situations where core values impact the operation of the wing, discuss member roles in promoting corporate accountability/responsibility and the integration of Core Values into operations at all levels, and compare and contrast leadership and management; and describe situations in which each would be used. NOTE: SLS completion is a prerequisite for completing Corporate Learning Course (CLC). B. Training Location Address: Ellington JRB BLDG 1357 Houston, TX 77034 C. Notification This training will be announced on the Ellington Composite Squadron web page and Facebook page, the Group IV calendar, and the Texas Wing Calendar in coordination with the Texas Wing PAO. B. Application Apply by for the course desired as soon as possible but no later than midnight 28 JUN 2018. Eventbrite registration will close at that time. A CAPF 17 and CAPF 161 will be due at sign-in. C. Exercise Capacity All CAP members are eligible to attend this training. The maximum number of participants for the class is 20. D. Course Fees Course Fee is 10.00 via Eventbrite link pending

3. SAFETY Participants are advised to be alert and careful at all times. Each participant must have authorization from their commander in order to attend the course and their Form 161 (Emergency Contact Information) on their person. 4. UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS Students and instructors have the option to wear the following: the long or short-sleeve USAF Class B Uniform, CAP Aviator Shirt Uniform, or the CAP Corporate Working Uniform (Polo); however any Dress Uniform outlined in chapter 4 is acceptable. Members in their first 30 days who have not yet acquired a uniform may wear appropriate civilian equivalents. NO BDU/ABUs or FLIGHT SUITS. 5. ADMINISTRATION A. Printed course material will be available. B. Sign-in All staff and participants at the project location must sign-in on CAPF 11. IMPORTANT: Ellington Composite Squadron is located within Ellington JRB. An Entry Access List will be generated via Eventbrite sign-ups. Name must be entered as it appears on your State issued Drivers License. Vehicle insurance and registration MUST be current. ALL attendees must have their Drivers License/State ID and CAPID on their person. D. The event will be organized by the course directors, support staff, and instructors with additions and deletions made as needed. 6. FACILITIES A. Classrooms Two classrooms will be in use, one for each course.

Treat the facilities with the utmost respect. We expect the facilities to be returned in the same condition as it was made available. The attendees along with the project staff will clean the facility before departure. B. Telephone access Attendees are advised to have personal cell phones available. Please have cell phones set to vibrate or turned off during the course presentations. 7. LOGISTICS A. Dining Meals on both days will be at your own expense. There are several restaurants in the area. Food and drinks will also be available at the Base Exchange. B. Medical Emergency number is 911 C. Transportation Parking: Parking is available at the facility. No special transportation has been arranged D. Lodging No special lodging arrangements have been made and will be the student’s responsibility. 8. CONTINGENCIES The exercise may be suspended or terminated, and CAP resources reassigned, ONLY at the direction of an active REDCAP Incident Commander, WG/CC, or LO; otherwise, exercises are expected to continue as planned. 9. SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITY Sign in will begin at 0830 both days and the first modules will begin promptly at 0900. Saturday will run until 1600 and on Sunday graduation will complete by 1600.
