The new Pro-Tec Corporate office is located at 3433 W. College Avenue, Appleton, WI 54914 and served as the Fox Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau for many years. It features ample office space, a sizeable training/ conference/multi-purpose room, plenty of storage, and collaboration areas. There is a hotel located next door with plenty of other amenities in the area. Fire Chief Quin Cayson presented to BShift Captain Melvin Fennel his 15 years of service certificate. Thank you Capt. ARFF FLASH Ardmore airpark is now a game changer for Oklahoma in global commerce Published by The Oklahoman 8/4/21 Guest Columnist Mita Bates Originally commissioned as an Army Air Corps base in 1942 during World War II, the Ardmore Municipal Airport was conveyed to the city of Ardmore with the provision that it remains an active airfield. The city of Ardmore, recognizing the importance of economic development and the value of the airpark assets, leased the land in 1983 to the Ardmore Development Authority (ADA). Mita Bates, President & CEO of the Ardmore Development The ADA, in partnership with the state of Oklahoma, has taken a disciplined approach to make improvements to the park ever since. It extended the airport’s primary runway to 9,000 feet to accommodate large-load aircrafts and continues making enhancements through partnerships with organizations like the FAA and Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission. These efforts have attracted national and regional marquee tenants, including the largest Dollar General distribution facility in its network; Dollar General Fresh, a new fresh-food concept; and EJ Foundry, a total electric facility. King Aerospace Commercial Corp. has been the premier aerospace tenant at the airpark for decades, and it continues to grow the maintenance, repair and overhaul business. Recent electrical, telecommunications, water, sewer and natural gas improvements position the park for immediate development. With new infrastructure, multimodal transportation capabilities, A rendering of the updated airpark in Ardmore proximity to major markets without the congestion of metropolitan areas, as well as access to Interstate 35, the airpark is set up for success. Now, the ADA has joined into a public-private partnership with WP Global, an alliance between Watco, Knightsbridge Partners and the Chickasaw Nation, to bring the vision of an e-commerce hub in Ardmore to life. The Global Transportation & Industrial Park of Oklahoma (GTIP) is a 124 million multiphase development plan that will create an international, multimodal logistics park with rail and air cargo capabilities. GTIP will accommodate transload, storage, distribution and manufacturing solutions for a broad range of industrial projects. It will spur jobs, economic development and commerce opportunities in the heart of Oklahoma. Not to mention, it is an approved U.S. Foreign Trade Zone, allowing it to accommodate global commerce. The opportunities are vast; this could truly be a game changer for global commerce in Oklahoma. The ADA dreamed big and took calculated risks to lead the airpark where we are today. In conjunction with the city of Ardmore, it continues to invest in the facility and its assets. We look forward to announcing GTIP and seeing how it benefits the whole state. https://gtipok.wpengine.com/ Mita Bates is president and CEO of the Ardmore Development Authority, the Ardmore Chamber of Commerce, the Ardmore Tourism Authority and the Chamber of Commerce Foundation Inc. Welcome to AZO Submitted by Paul Vosburg AZO would like to welcome a new firefighter to Pro-Tec Fire Services, William (Ben) Barber. ARFF FLASH Training at Trenton-Mercer Training at The Port Authority A Platoon training with Amkus Rescue Tools carried on Engine 34. Although we would like to train on aircraft, junked cars are much easier to get. The important this is that personnel get proficient with and know the capabilities of the tools they could use in a real event. Over the last two days, TMAFD personnel have traveled to The Port Authority of NY and NJ Fire Training Academy, at JFK Airport, to complete their annual FAA Live Burns. A big thank you to The Port Authority of NY & NJ instructors at the fire academy and Chief Davitt for your accommodations and hospitality. Submitted by Trenton-Mercer AFD FB Submitted by Trenton-Mercer AFD FB Munds Hands On Experience Submitted by Will Rogers World AFD FB Then it was C Platoons turn to go out and get some hands on time with the hydraulic tools. Crew went over the different applications of each tool and how we can use it in various situations. The guys at WRWAFD decided to get me (Nathan Mund) out of the dispatch center and have a good laugh with me today. I got to try and hold on while spraying.yes, they’re holding me from falling down. I’m no small guy, but it was tough to keep it from knocking me over. Thanks to B shift for including this dispatcher in your training. 7
