Delray Beach Holiday Parade December 11, 2021, 6:00 pm Parade Entry Application November 3, 2021 Dear Parade Enthusiast, Once again, the Delray Beach Parks and Recreation Department is organizing the Delray Beach Holiday Parade set to take place December 11, at 6:00 pm. Enclosed please find your application to participate in this years parade, rules and a route map. This year’s theme is “Songs of the Season” and awards will be awarded to the Grand Float, Best Non-Profit, Best Dance/ Cheer Group, Best Business/Commercial, and Best Marching Band. Delray Beach Holiday Parade December 11, 2021, 6:00 pm Parade Entry Application Delray Beach Holiday Parade Rules Application Deadline: December 2, 2021 Parade Participants. please remember that this is a community event and is intended for viewing by all families and all ages. dress and behavior should reflect a "G" rating. 1) ALL MUST ATTEND the mandatory Captain’s Meeting on December 6, 7:00 pm at the Delray Beach Community Center, 50 NW 1st Ave. 2) Drivers: Copies of your Drivers License and Insurance are required and must be submitted with the application. You application will not be accepted without it. 3) For safety reasons, children under the age of 6 must ride on a float/vehicle. 4) No alcoholic beverages will be allowed on floats, in the line-up area or during the length of the parade. Consumption of such beverages will not be tolerated and will result in immediate removal from the parade and future events thereafter. 5) The parade will begin at the Intracoastal, proceed west on Atlantic Avenue to NW 5th Ave . A map showing starting positions and parade route is enclosed. 6) All entries must be decorated and in place by 5:30 pm. If you arrive late, you will be placed at the end of the parade. 7) Judging for all entries will take place at the Staging Area located in front of the Tennis Center. Dance/Cheer Groups will have the opportunity to a 20-second stationary performance. Stopping will not be permitted anywhere else along the parade route. If you create a gap between entries, you will not be judged. 8) Police safety rules prohibit throwing candy or other items from cars, floats, etc. and city ordinance prohibit consumption of alcoholic beverages. “Silly String” and “snap ‘n pops” are prohibited. 9) All floats must be fireproofed. Information on alternate methods of fireproofing is available from the Delray Beach Fire Department. (243-7400) 10) Solicitation of funds or selling of merchandise during the parade is not permitted unless approved by the Parade Committee. 11) The Parade Committee has arranged to have Santa Claus ride the fire truck, therefore, other Santas are inappropriate. 12) Excessive noise (I.e. horns, sirens) are frightening to young children. Please use common sense and courtesy. 13) All entries using sound amplifying devices shall maintain a volume that will not interfere with other entries. 14) Monster trucks and large commercial construction vehicles are prohibited. Vehicles with tires larger than 36” are prohibited. 15) Maximum Float Height Restriction: 15 feet from the ground. 16) All groups must march to the end of the parade route, which is NW 5th Ave. Note: immediately upon making the turn onto NW 5th Ave., your performance has ended—Music and performances must stop.
