The Parable of the Rich Fool Luke 12:16-21 Luke 12 16 And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop. 17He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’ 18 “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. 19And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’ 20 “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’ 21 “This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things for himself but is not rich toward God.”

The Bible Times Herald A Special Report on Luke 12:16-21 THE PARABLE OF THE RICH FOOL Jesus told a story called a parable. A parable is a story with two meanings. There is an earthly meaning and a heavenly meaning. Jesus told this story: A rich man had land that produced a good crop. He thought to himself, “What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.” So the rich man decided to tear down his barns and build bigger ones to store his grain. Then the man decided to relax because he had plenty of good things stored up for himself. But that very night the rich man would die. Jesus asked who would get the riches he stored up for himself. Jesus explained the parable by saying, “This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things for himself but is not rich toward God.” For more details, please read Luke 12:16-21 in the Bible.
