Modules Inventory Management Main Item Maintenance 1 2 1 Enter the number you want to use for your item code. The ONLY special character that can be used is a 3 dash (-). Refer to the end of this document for Item Generation guidelines. 2 Create the Description. Refer to the end of this document for guidelines on how to create it. 3 Select the Product Line. If you do not know the number, then you can use the magnifying glass to search for it. * If the item that you're creating is similar to another item already created, you can click the "Copy From" button and make the description changes needed. 4 Enter the most commonly used Unit Of Measure for the item. 4 Examples: A. 5 Enter the Price Code (this is the company that you work for). A list of the manufacturers that are not included in the CCP tier pricing can be 7 5 6 found at the end of this document. 6 7 Enter the warehouse number that the item is being created for. Enter the vendor number. If you do not know the vendor's vendor, then use the magnifying glass. 8 Once you’ve entered the vendor number, a box will pop up asking if this is a new item vendor. Click "Yes". 8 9 10 Enter the item code that the vendor uses. 9 10 Click "OK".

11 Enter the List Price at a 40% mark up off of the cost that we paid; unless you receive the list price from the vendor, then enter that cost into the List Price (i.e. if our cost 11 is 100 then the list price is 140). 12 12 13 Enter our cost in the Standard Cost box. On the Additional tab, make sure that the Sales Tax Class is “TX”. 13 14 14 If the item being created will not be a standard stock item (one time sale), then check the "NonStock" box. 15 15 Click "Accept".

Item ID Generation: 1. Always use product Manufacturer Model # (Ex: Dewalt Drill #DW1234 Our Item ID would be DW1234) 2. Make sure to use all CAPS 3. Do not use special symbols, but use abbrevations instead.(“ IN, ‘ FT, # LB) 4. If there is not a clear Manufacturer Model #, check vendor order confirmation as there is usually a Model # on the vendor quote or vendor confirmation. We prefer to not start item id’s with a zero as this causes issues with data when being exported. 6. Never use spaces in item ID’s as this is a leading cause for duplications and search failures; if unavoidable use a (-) in between characters. 7. Sage only allows for 15 characters so make sure to stick within that character count. 8. Only use a space between words and do not use comma's. Sage allows for 30 characters including spaces; after that, the extended description box will populate the remaining characters after the first 30 characters. When searching for the item description in the future, you will not be able to search for any words that were put in the extended description when the item code was created. 2. Do not use special symbols (“ IN, ‘ FT, # LBS) 3. Only time a slash should be used is for fraction sizes. (1/2IN, 1-3/4IN, 4-1/4IN) 4.
