(Bug #33659344) Changes in MySQL Workbench 8.0.33 (2023-04-18, General Availability) Packaging Notes Bugs Fixed Packaging Notes Incompatible Change: An issue isolated within Python causes it to quit unexpectedly, and, in turn, generates errors each time an instance of MySQL Workbench closes. The affected platform is limited to 64-bit ARM CPUs running macOS (Ventura). For a more information about the issue, visit https:// github.com/python/cpython/issues/99663. (Bug #35256009) On Windows, the MySQL Workbench MSI file now omits the .pyc files previously installed under the pycache folder. (Bug #35149126) Bugs Fixed When running on some architecture and macOS combinations, MySQL Workbench could exit unexpectedly while attempting to execute a SELECT or SHOW TABLES statement. (Bug #109671, Bug #35015018) Changes in MySQL Workbench 8.0.32 (2023-01-17, General Availability) Functionality Added or Changed The Native Kerberos connection method now includes the Kerberos Mode option that enables the selection between Kerberos authentication using the Windows SSPI Kerberos library or GSSAPI through the MIT Kerberos library on Windows. The mode’s value defaults to GSSAPI (see Native Kerberos). (WL #15406) Changes in MySQL Workbench 8.0.31 (2022-10-11, General Availability) Functionality Added or Changed All editions of MySQL Workbench and the bundled libraries were updated to use SQLite 3.39.2. (Bug #34514470) Libxml2 was updated to version 2.10.0 with this release. (Bug #34461996) The linked OpenSSL library for MySQL Workbench has been updated to version 1.1.1q on the Windows and macOS platforms. The system-wide location is used on Linux platforms. (Bug #33987621) Changes in MySQL Workbench 8.0.28 (2022-01-18, General Availability) Functionality Added or Changed Bugs Fixed Functionality Added or Changed All editions of MySQL Workbench and the bundled libraries were upgraded to use libssh 0.9.6. (Bug #33418517) MySQL Workbench now supports the following platform versions: macOS 12, Windows 11, and Windows Server 2022. Bugs Fixed Before MySQL Workbench 8.0.27, a connection using SSL attempted to establish an encrypted connection by default if the server supported encrypted connections or to fall back to an unencrypted connection if an encrypted connection could not be established. The default behavior was changed in version 8.0.27 to always require SSL encryption, which could cause a connection test to fail if the server did not support encryption. In addition, the settable values for the Use SSL field no longer included No or If available. This fix restores the previous default behavior (If available) and also restores the full set of Use SSL values for establishing encrypted and unencrypted connections. (Bug #105327, Bug #33507869, Bug #105462, Bug #33541199) Changes in MySQL Workbench 8.0.27 (2021-10-19, General Availability) Functionality Added or Changed The linked OpenSSL library for MySQL Workbench has been updated to version 1.1.1l. MySQL Workbench Release Notes All editions of MySQL Workbench and the bundled libraries were updated to use SQLite 3.36.0. (Bug #32765056) MySQL Workbench now supports the following new connection methods for use with LDAP pluggable authentication and Kerberos pluggable authentication: The LDAP User/Password connection method for simple LDAP authorization on Linux and Windows hosts. The LDAP Sasl/Kerberos connection method, which uses GSSAPI/Kerberos to authenticate users and passwords on Linux hosts. The Native Kerberos connection method, using authentication tokens generated by the kinit command, on Linux and Windows hosts.
