PlacementBeforeyouinstall the HomeTheaterStandardinto your system,reviewthe followingguidelinesto choosethe locationfor the component.This will facilitate a clean,troublefree installation.TheHomeTheaterStandarddoesqot require any type-of special rack or cabinetforinstallation. For the dimensionsof your HomeTheaterStandardsee Specifications, onpages56-57.TheHomeTheater"S andardrequires at least two inches (5 cm)of clearanceon eachside andat least two inches(5 cm)of clearanceabovethe componentto provideadequateventilation. Further, the HomeTheaterStandardrequiresat least three inches(7 cm)of clearancebetweenother connectedcomponents.For installations insidecabinetry, extra ventilation maybe necessary.AC POWER GUIDELINESTheHomeTheaterStandardhas superbregulation anddoesnot require a dedicatedACcircuit. Getting StartedREAD THIS FIRSTPerformthe following steps to makethe On-ScreenDisplay (OSD)viewableon yourvideo monitor. Press the powerbutton or HTSkey a secondtime to poweroff the mainzone.2 Power LEDThe blue powerLEDilluminates whenthe HomeTheater Standardis in operationalmode.3 Stand-by LEDThered stand-by LEDilluminates whenthe back panel powerswitch (54) is. on,indicating that the HomeTheater Standardis in stand-by mode.Krell recommendsthatthe backpanel powerswitch (54) remainin the up position at all times.4 Infrared SensorThe infrared sensor receives commandsfrom the HomeTheater Standard remotecontrol. For proper remotecontrol operation, makesure the infrared sensoris notcoveredor obstructed.Input Device Selection Buttons and LEDsWhenproperly configured, the HomeTheater Standard keeps track of each device andits associated connections. For example,DVDuses Coax1for digital audio, Composite1for video, and S-1 for analog audio. The HomeTheater Standardautomatically engagesthe correct inputs whenyou press a front panel device selection button.The HomeTheater Standardis equippedwith the following input selections, which allowyou to select the device connectedto your HomeTheater Standard.
