1Terms used in this Booklet1.1Government means Government of Maharashtra.1.2Department means the School Education Department of the Government of MaharashtraMantralaya, Mumbai 32.1.3Secondary School means a school which provides a course in general education leadingto std 10th to the Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSC) or equivalent.1.4Junior College means a higher secondary school which provides education of std 11thand 12th leading to Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (HSC). It includessecondary attached Higher Secondary School. Independant Higher Secondary Schooland Junior college attached to Senior college.1.5Aided Junior College means a junior college receiving any type of grant-in-aid fromthe Government.1.6Unaided Junior College means a junior college not receiving any grant from theGovernment. It includes Permanent word removed Non English Medium PermanentUnaided Higher Secondary Schools.1.7Self Financed Junior College means the Higher Secondary School recognised underMaharashtra Self Financed School (Establishment and regulation) Act. 2012. Having noright to get any grant from the Government. It includes English Medium PermanentUnaided Higher Secondary Schools.1.8Minority Institution means an institution declared as a religious or a linguistic minorityby the Government.1.9Management Quota means 5% of the total seats in a junior college, to be filled in bythe Management of the Junior College at their level as per the rules in force.1.10 Minority Quota means 50% of the total seats in a particular minority Junior college,to be filled in by the minority institution that runs the Junior college from among thestudents belonging to the respective religious/linguistic minority as per the rules inforce.1.11 In House Quota means 10% of total seats in a Junior College, reserved for those studentof secondary schools run by the same Guardian Educational Institute in that Division.9

1.12 Online Admission Area : The area where Higher Secondary admissions are decided tobe done through centralised online process. The Online admission area covers - Theareas of Mumbai (MMRDA) region, Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad corporation as well asNagpur, Amravati, Nashik and Aurangabad Municipal Corporations.1.13 FCFS means the admissions done through First Come First Serve basis.1.14 State Board means Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher SecondaryEducation.1.15 Other Boards means the Education Boards other than the State Board viz. - CBSE,ICSE, IGCSE, IB, NIOS and Boards of other States.1.16 HSVC means an independent 4th stream other than Arts, Commerce or Scinece atHigher Secondary level. (i.e. - Higher Secondary Certificate - vocational)1.17 Bifocal Courses are those vocational subjects prescribed by the Directorate ofVocational Education and Training can be taken as an optional subject (200 marks) withArts, Commerce or Science streams.1.18 Division : The six Administrative Divisions established by the Government ofMaharashtra viz - Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, Amravati, Nagpur.Please RememberApplicants should keep the below mentioned information in mind while applyingHigher Secondary level education is imparted through Four Streams1) Arts, 2) Science, 3) Commerce, 4) HSVC (HSC-Vocational)Junior Colleges are of three types1) Co-Education, 2) Boys, 3) GirlsMediums of instruction1) Marathi, 2) English, 3) Urdu , 4) Hindi,5) Gujarati, 6) Kannada, 7) Sindhi(All seven mediums may not be available in all areas)Junior Colleges are classifed in three Aid-types1) Aided, 2) Unaided, 3) Self financed/Permanent unaidedMRN11

2The Centralised Online Admission ProcessA)The scope of the Online Admission Process :2.1The online admission process for std XI, in the defined six online admission areas MumbaiMetropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) in Mumbai, Thane, Raigaddistricts, Pune and Pimpari-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation areas alongwith Nagpur,Amravati, Nashik and Aurangabad Municipal Corporations is applicable to all recognizedJunior Colleges affiliated to the Maharashtra State Board and it is mandatory for all toparticipate in the online admission process, as all admissions will be done through onlineprocess only.2.2The admissions in the Higher Secondary School affiliated to other boards (Excludingthe Maharashtra State Board) will not be done through this admission process. (Thoseother Boards students who seek admission in to the State board Junior College canparticipate in this admission process.)2.3Admission to Arts, Science, Commerce and vocational streams HSVC will be giventhrough the Centralized Admission Process.2.4Following admissions will not be done through centralized Admission Process :a) Night Junior Colleges.b) Millitory Junior Collegesc) Special Junior Colleges for Divyanga/Disabled students2.5Students, who have passed SSC or equivalent examination from any recognized boardand seeking admission to std. B)Procedure of The Online Admission Process :2.6The centralised Admission Process for Std. XI will commence immediately after thedeclaration of online result of SSC (State Board), probably in the first week of June,however part-1 of the online admission form can be filled-in before the result.2.7After the online declaration of SSC exam. result, Part-2 of the online application formwill be opend for filling. After that, various rounds for online admission will be held :1)Zero Round : This round will be arranged before the regular rounds. In this roundthe admission to the Bifocal courses and HSVC stream will be given throughCentralised Admission Process.From this round all Junior Colleges will start the admissions of management quota,intra-institutional inhouse quota and minority quota too.After the zero round vacant seats of bifocal subjects will be filled in as per themerit of the student at the Junior College level from the students admitted throughregular round and it will be uploaded on the concerned website.2)Three Regular Rounds : After zero round, three regular rounds will be arrangedfor admission to all streams. Allotment will be done as per merit, reservation andpreferences given by the students. Student who have not got admission in zeroround, can participate in regular rounds.3)Special Round : After three regular rounds special round will be arranged. Studentswho have not got admission in previous rounds, and those who are restricted inearlier rounds can participate in this round.4)FCFS Rounds : After special round, as per the principle of first come first serverounds will be arranged. Those students who have cancelled their admission inearlier rounds (zero round to special round), those who are restricted in earlierrounds and who have not got admision yet can particiate in FCFS rounds.2.8The timetable of online admission rounds will be published on the website. Studentsneed to observe the instructions given carefully.2.9Admissions will be done through various rounds as above for available seats throughcentralised admission process.15

Centralised Admission Rounds(Flow Chart-1)*From Zero round, all quota admissions will also start.*Zero round shall be run only for admissions to vocational bifocal courses and HSVCstream.*The centralised admissions to all streams (except bifocal courses) will begin from regularround-1.Every Student desirous to take admission in any Junior College (Anyof the stream) in online admission area should apply online on theadmission website. For admission through any reserved quota one shouldapply through this online admision process.No student can enter the process without online registration.17

C)Admission Under Reserved Quota :2.10 For admission in Junior College, Inhouse Quota, Management Quota and Minority quotain minority Jr. Colleges will be reserved.2.11 It is also necessory to fill online form for the admission under any above quota.2.12 Inhouse Quota : (Intra Institutional Quota)1) Students passed std. X from secondary school (within same division) of the samemanagement who run the Junior College in online admission area are eligible forInhouse quota admission.2) Under this quota, all Junior Colleges will have 10% seats reserved. If the educationalinstitute has no secondary school of std. X class, they will not have such inhousequota.3) Under this quota list of eligible students (who have applied on online admissionwebsite) at the school level will be declared and admissions will be given purely onmerit basis.4) Minority as well as Non-Minority Junior Colleges can fill inhous quota seats duringzero round or only after the special round and it can be surrenderd before regularround-1 or after regular round-3.2.13 Management Quota :1) Under this quota 5% seats will be reserved in all Junior Colleges. These admissionsthrough this quota can be done by the managerial institute itself.2) Minority as well as Non-Minority Junior Colleges can fill management quota seatsor can surender it at any stage from zero round to the end of this admission process.2.14 Minority Quota :1) Under this quota 50% seats will be reserved in minority Junior Colleges only. Forthe students of minority community (religious / linguistic) only.2) For this quota admission, the minority students (Christian, Jain, Buddhist, Muslim,Sikh, Parshi etc. religious or linguistic minority/non marathi speakers) are eligible.3) For this quota admissions, list of eligible students (who have applied on onlineadmission website) at the school level will be declared and admissions will be givenpurely on merit basis.4) Minority quota seats can be filled by the end of three regular rounds and the vacantseats of minority quota if so, can be surenderd after three regular rounds only.It is mandatory to update the admissions done through any of the Quota, on the websiteof centralised admission process ASAP.19

Quota Admission Guidance Chart(Flow Chart-2)1) Admissions through Quota will be done at Junior college level from students whohave applied through this online process only.2) If Jr. College Guardian sanstha has running no secondary (10th) school, then theJr. College will not have Inhouse quota.3) Minority quota is reserved in minority Jr. Colleges, only for minority students. Nominority quota in non-minority Junior College.4) There will be reserved seats for admission in Junior Colleges under various quotas(Inhouse quota 10%, management quota 5%, Minority Quota 50%) . These quota reserved seats can be surenderd within given time.21

X (Level 2) of Directorate of Vocational Education and Training will have25% seats reserved for Biofocal subjects and HSVC stream.25

NB :1. Subject code numbers 81 to 94 (Total 14) vocational courses of Std. X will beconsidered for technical quota.2. Along with HSVC stream for the students of Arts, Science and Commerce streamstotal 14 subjects of bifocal vocational syllabus (viz. A1, A2, A3, A4, A7, A8, A9, B2,B4, B5, B9, C1, C2, D9)will be available for admission. For more informationregarding HSVC and Bifocal courses you can consult to the concerned Jr. College.Ultimately each and every applicant student will get admission as per his/hermerit. That is the basic objective of this admission process.E)Fees :2.16 In aided divisions of Jr. Colleges fees is charged as per the government rates.2.17 The Fee of the unaided, self-financed/permant unaided Jr. College is decided as perMaharashtra Educational Institutes (regulation of fees) act 2011 by the schoolmanagement, so the various Jr. Colleges may have different fees.2.18 Thus there can be different fee structures for aided and unaided divisions in the same Jr.College. For Biofocal and information Technology (IT) subjects, fee may be chargedseperately.2.19 The detailed information of fee, can be obtained by visiting concerned Jr. College.The student data of SSC Examination with the Maharashtra State Board will beused for this online admission process. The SSC students appearing for Feb-March2019 examination, can avail and get filled in their personal details on just enteringtheir seat number automatically. (Auto Fill) whereas other board's students canfill in their personal details mannually by themselves.27

F)Admission in Std. XII and Change of Jr. College :2.20 Policy/Procedure for the admission in Std. 12th within the online admission area willbe declared by the Government.2.21 Those students who have admitted in Std. 11th through this online process last year ordesirous of changing their Jr. College will get timely instructions on the website.2.22 New admissions of Std. 12th as well as change in Jr. College or stream by the studentetc. will be updated on the website by the Jr. College.The information of online admitted students will be made available to the stateboard. The state board will confirm the online admission status of the concernedapplicant student desirous to appear HSC Examination.So students are advised not to take admission except online admission processto avoid the eligibility issue while appearing board exam.Till the last student, admissions will be done through this online process only.MRN29

3To Fill Online Admission Form*Online admission form has to be filled in two steps. Part-1 (Personal information) Part2 (Preference order)*Part-1 of the application form will be available to fill before the declaration of Std.10th(State Board) result. The information of this part has to be filled and get approved onceonly.*Process to fill up Part-2, will begin immediately on declaration of SSC result (SateBoard). Before every round, Part-2 of application form can be updated.3.1) How to fill Online Form :1)Purchase Information Booklet from School/Guidance Centre.2)Before filling admission form read inforamtion booklet carefully and try to understandthe complete admission process for this you may seek help of your school/guidancecentre.3)Login to the given (areawise website first).4)Login ID is provided in the Information Booklet. Use the same for first time Login.Change the pass word and remember new pass word for next Login.5)Select the security questions and give correct answers and remember the same.6)Take print of security questions and pass-ward, preserve it carefully (Never discloseyour password to anyone).Part-1 :7)To fill online application form follow the instructions, step by step displayed on thescreen.8)The information of regular students appearing Maharashtra State Board Exam March2019, will appear automatically on screen, after entering his/her SSC seat No. check thesame information carefully.9)After entering upon the SSC seat number, if information is not displayed those students(State board or other boards) should fill the information mannually by self.10) Fill online admission form from school/guidance centre. After filling Part-1 ofapplication verify the information filled in (i.e. Name, Mother's name, date of birth,category, Reservation Mob. No. etc.) and get it approved from school/guidance centre.11) Furnish all documents required for approval.12)Take print of approved form and keep it for further use.13)Those students who won't get their form approved, such incomplete form will remain"pending" and such forms will not be considered for online admission process.
