Information about your.PERFORMANCEMODULEThe Jet Performance Module is designedto enhance the performance and drivability of yourvehicle. By optimizing the air/fuel ratio, ignitionadvance and various other parameters. The JetModule retunes your engine for maximumperformance.JET STAGE 1 MODULE:The Jet Stage 1 Module is optimized forstock vehicles. Minor bolt on modifications such asfree flow air filters and cat back exhaust systemswill work with the stage 1 tuning. Premium fuel isrecommended for best performance gains, but fornormal light driving, lowgrade or midgrade fuelsmay be used.JET STAGE 2 MODULE:The Jet Stage 2 Module is optimized formodified vehicles. The stage 2 requires premiumfuel and the use of a Jet 180 degree thermostat.We also recommend a cat back exhaust system.The stage 2 will work well with headers, free flowair intake systems and filters.1

INSTALLATION PROCEDURES1. Disconnect negative battery cable.NOTE: Ram Pickup 89-93 - remove battery.2. Remove the stock wiring harness by looseningthe bolt in the center.4. Install the supplied bolt extension into the stockcomputer.5. Plug the Jet Module into the stock computer.3

6. Reinstall the factory wiring harness into the JetModule and tighten down the bolt (if equipped).7. Reinstall battery if needed or reconnect batterycable.8. Start the vehicle. Verify that the "serviceengine" light IS NOT ON. Go drive the vehiclefor a few miles and verify everything is workingproperly.9. Wrap insulation, make sure to press the tartape down around the module making a tightseal.10.In the event that you have a problem go totroubleshooting on page 22.NOTE: THE JET MODULE IS WATERRESISTANT, NOT WATER PROOF. TO ENSURETHE BEST SEAL, MAKE SURE YOU WRAP THEMODULE ENTIRELY WITH THE INSULATION!WARNING: DO NOT PRESSURE WASHAROUND THE MODULE!4

Remove the ECU fromthe firewall.4. There are 3 color coded connectors(black, white & grey) remove the BLACKconnector (see photo 1).7

NOTE: SOME APPLICATIONS WILL REQUIREREMOVAL OF A DUST COVER. THIS WILLNOT REINSTALL WITHOUT MODIFICATIONS.5. Plug the Jet Module into the stock computer.Ensure the module is inserted all the way intothe stock connector.6. Slide the lock on the backside of the moduleuntil fully clipped down (see photo 2).Photo 27. Reinstall the ECU.8. Install the supplied O ring over stock ECMconnector, make sure it is completely seated upto the last lip on connector (see photos 3 & 4).Photo 3Photo 48

9. Reinstall all factory wiring harness into the JetModule and computer (see photos 5 & 6).Photo 5Photo 610. Reinstall battery if needed or reconnect batterycable.11. Start the vehicle. Verify that the "service engine"light IS NOT ON. Go drive the vehicle for a fewmiles and verify everything is working properly.12. INSTALLATION PROCEDURES1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.2. Locate the stock ECU. (see chart below)ECU LOCATION 1 See steps below#2 Below Factory Air Intake, Proceed to Step 63. The ECU is located on the passenger side of theengine compartment between the fender andthe firewall underneath a plastic cover.(see photo 1)11

6. Carefully remove ECU from it's mountinglocation. (see photo 4) For Dodge Neon ownersafter removing the Factory Air Housing, nextremove the bolts holding the ECU to the vehiclePhoto 47. Disconnect the wiring connectors bypressing/squeezing down on the red releasebuttons on the top of the connector. Remove allthe connectors from the ECU. (see photo 5)Photo 513

8. Remove the dust cover off back of wiringharness from the third connector from themounting bracket by lifting on 4 tabs with asmall screwdriver. (see photo 6)Photo 69. Place the ECU on a flat surface and install theJET module into the white connector on theECU as shown. (see photo 7). You will need topress the module firmly into place for properconnection. Make sure the module is fullyseated and is not crooked in the connector.Photo 714

10. Reinstall the connector into the Jet moduleand secure the red clip. (see photo 8)Photo 811. Reinstall the ECU into it's mounting location.The ECU with the module installed is a tight fit,so be careful with the wires. Secure themounting bracket and plastic cover.12. Reinstall negative battery cable.13. Start the vehicle and verify "service enginesoon" light is not on.14. In the event of a problem go to troubleshootingon page 22.15

1. Disconnect negative battery cable.2. Locate the ECU with 4 wiring connectors wichis mounted to the driver side firewall.3. Unlock the wiring harness on the third connectorfrom the left by sliding the red lock back. Thendepress the release button located on the top ofthe wiring harness and remove the wiring harnessfrom the computer. (see photo1)Photo 14. 5. Plug the factory harness into the Jet module.The wiring harness will lock onto the Jet module.Slide the slide lock forward to lock the wiringharness. (see photo 3)6. The completed installation should look likephoto 4.7. Reconnect the negative side terminal of thebattery. Start your vehicle and make sure the"service engine soon" light is not on and thevehicle is running normally.Photo 3Photo 421

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE.Most computer or module problems are due topoor electrical contacts. If you have a problem, trythe following:1. Disconnect the negative battery cable, unplugthe factory harness and the Jet Module.2. Inspect both the factory parts and Jet Module forany bent or broken pins, dirt or contamination.Fix any minor problems you find.3. Reinstall the module, harness, battery cable andrecheck for the service engine light or anydrivability problems.4. If the problem still exists .Contact the Jet Technical Departmentat (714) 848-5515If these fail to correct your problem - - DO NOT CONTACT THE DISTRIBUTOR YOUPURCHASED IT FROM OR GO BACK TO THECAR/TRUCK DEALER - CALL THE JET TECHLINE AT (714) 848-5515.22

WHAT TO DO BEFORETAKING YOUR VEHICLEIN FOR SERVICEIf a problem occurs that may require you to takeyour vehicle to a mechanic or dealership for service, firstremove the JET Performance Chip or Module and reinstallback to stock. If the problem disappears when you remove theJET Performance Product, call JET and we will troubleshootthe product. However, if returning to stock does not cure yourproblem, there is nothing wrong with your JET PerformanceProduct and you will need to have your vehicle serviced.Anytime a diagnostic machine is to be used, thevehicle must be back to stock. Diagnostic machines expectto find the original stock program and often cannot correctlyanalyze the problem if other devices are installed. Failure toreinstall your system back to stock can result in unnecessaryand costly repairs not covered by JET. Before you have anywork done on the vehicle that you feel may have been relatedto the JET Performance Chip or Module, please call JET at714-848-5515.Limited WarrantyJET Performance Products warrants Chips and Modules to be free fromdefects in material and workmanship under normal use and if properly installed.This limited lifetime warranty is to the original purchaser for as long as he orshe owns the vehicle on which the product was originally installed, providedall information requested is furnished.
