INSTALLATION RECOMMENDATIONS FOR AHUThe area chosen for installation must allow for enough space around the unit for comfortably and safely carrying out installation andsuccessive maintenance operations, including the replacement of any internal component (e.g. removal of the heat exchange coils, thefilters, ) see figure.INSTALLATION RECOMMENDATIONS FOR VRV CONDENSING UNITSMake sure the space around the unit is adequate for servicing and the minimum space for air inlet and air outlet is available (refer to thefigure below and choose one of the possibilities). 13

Where possible, the top of the unitshould be completely unobstructed; however, if vertical conditions require placement beneath an obstructionthere should be a minimum of 1.5 meters between the top of the unit and the obstruction(s). The specifieddimensions meet requirements for air circulation only. Consult all appropriate regulatory codes prior todetermining final clearances.Another important consideration in selecting a location for the unit(s) is the angle to obstructions. Eitherside adjacent the valves be placed toward the structure provided the side away from the structure maintainsminimum service clearance.
