Alternative Resources Functionality in APO PPM/PDS without having Alternative Sequences in R/3IntroductionAlternative resources (alternative modes) can be created in APO for PPM/PDS Operations byclassifying the workcentres (PP)/Resources (PP-PI).The advantage of this method of creating the alternative resource is that, there is no need for analternative sequence in the R/3 routing.Steps to be followedOverviewCreating the alternative resource is done by classifying the R/3 Resource & the recipe/routing operationusing the same classification data. In this example, a PPM/PDS with 3 alternative resources will be createdin APO. This example is based on PP-PI Recipe. The same process can be followed for Routings too.Master DataClassificationCreate a characteristic & assign the allowed values, (Ex.
