Hymn Book 1By Mandy TynerBanjo LemonadeIn the year of our Lord, 2020. Back Porch Publishing.

Hey, and welcome to Banjo Lemonade! My name is Mandy and I would like to take you ona journey through some wonderful hymns. This ebook has been a long time coming and Iam excited to be bringing it to you.The Lord is on my mind day and night and expressing my love of Him through music bringsme so much joy. With each tune, I’ve also added a verse of scripture. One of my goals forthe rest of my life is to spend as much time as possible in the word of God, be it throughreadings, reciting, playing music, singing, and listening. Another goal is to do what I can tospread the Gospel to as many people as possible. My hope is that you will learn thesesongs and play them for your family and friends and that it is some blessing to you andthem.Peace, grace, and love through our Saviour Jesus Christ!-MandyThis ebook is FREE. Share it far and wide to spread the love of Jesus to many ears.*Scripture references are all taken from the Authorized King James Version.Psalms 104:33“I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will singpraise to my God while I have my being.”Colossians 3:16“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in allwisdom; teaching and admonishing one another inpsalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing withgrace in your hearts to the Lord.”Lord, please put your blessing on this work. Please bring it to the eyes of those who needit, so that through this music your message can be spread. If one can be saved in this worldfrom this, it is all worth it. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

How I use music to witness to people.I wanted to add this little section for those who would like to use their musical gifts tospread the Gospel. Really it’s not as difficult as you might think. First, and most importantly you must be the light by living a life that is pleasing to God. Inthat act alone you are living apart from “the world”. This is huge! Second, you should always include hymns or worship songs in your playing. Just that actalone could stir the hearts of unbelievers! Also, it may renew the hearts of flounderingChristians. Third, try to take a moment to engage in some “worldly” songs. I said above not to beworldly, but this is different. If you only play worship music you will turn folks off. If you willjust learn some common songs as well you can mix those in with your worship music andgain the ears of some who might not have stopped to listen if all you did was worshipmusic. This part is key. Though I would prefer to only play hymns or do Bible readings, Iplay old time songs, old country songs, and things of that nature to draw people in and startconversations. Fourth, I like to always close by saying “Jesus Loves You”. This simple little statementgets people thinking. I cannot begin to tell you how many people have reacted to that in myvideos. I’ve had many folks thank me for that little reminder. I also have people ask me whyI do it? Those are my favorite!! Hallelujah. So I then begin a gentle conversation that isloving and explain about the love of Jesus. For as long as they will talk with me I talk. Mygoal is to get them asking questions. Get them “thinking”. I do get some negative resultsalso, but those are to be expected. The devil is working hard but we must work harder. Bonus - wear something that expresses your Christianity. T-shirts, bracelets, a coffee mug, hats, etc. Every time I do this I get comments on it. Someone will notice, trust me. Evenmy I Am Second bracelet that I wear sometimes (though I hate having something on myarms, wrists, or fingers). Every time you do this small act, you are witnessing. Someone willsee it. You can overdo this one also, so don’t go around with all these things at once. Justone small touch will do.In closing, please realize that you have a voice! An important voice for God. You must usethat voice. If you only just play these hymns without any of the above, then you arewitnessing already. Even if you only play for family who are already Christian, do notminimize that. Those family members may be going through something, they may haveneeded to hear that at that exact moment. Never underestimate the power of our Lord toput people in the right place at the right time! And never underestimate the power of musicto get people thinking.

The tenor banjo was one of a number of new banjo types created in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Some, like the guitar banjo and the ukulele banjo (introduced in 1917 by the English music hall duo of Alvin and Kelvin Keech), were hybrids that used a banjo “pot” to amplify another type of stringed instrument.
