State President MessageTo the Elks of West Virginia:We are honored to have our Grand Exalted Ruler, Malcolm J McPherson, Jr,and his wife, First Lady Pat, from the Lyndhurst NJ Lodge 1505 with us at this MidYear Convention . His theme for this year is "Strengthening Elkdom ThroughCommunity Awareness". He says that "We do so much good for our nation’sveterans, adults and children with special needs and our youth, we need toinform and educate our communities of all the great work we do. Basically, Elkssupport just about every community in this great nation and every nationalprogram helps those in need ". I know that our State of West Virginia will do ourbest to make sure that we will serve our communities and that we will spread theword of our works.We are also pleased to have with us State President Glenn E Foster and hiswife Bonnie of the Pennsylvania Elks Association as our special guests . I wasfortunate to meet them at their Convention in Harrisburg and have enjoyed ourtimes together so very much.I personally am looking forward to a great weekend of productive business aswe guide our Order in the great state of West Virginia. At the same time, I amlooking forward to a weekend of fun in the hospitality room, featuring thebeverages of your choice AND karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights.I am very much looking forward to my “Official Lodge visits” which will bestarting up in the weeks immediately following this Mid Year convention. PA State President MessageDear Friends of the West Virginia Elks Association,Bonnie and I would like to thank you for inviting us to attend your convention at the beautifulLakeview Resort in Morgantown.One of the many wonderful things that happen in our world of Elkdom is that we get to meetso many new Elk members, and after attending so many Grand Lodge Conventions over theyears as an Elk and as State Drug Awareness Chairman, we already know many of you and arelooking forward to meeting everyone and forming more new friendships and memories.Bonnie and I feel like we grow our Elk family wherever we go.My motto for Pennsylvania this year is “Communication - Grow Elkdom With It”, short version,“Communication”. We must all communicate with one another more often and leave nothingto chance.I am anxious to learn about all of your programs and how well you are doing with Veterans,National Foundation and membership, as well as other programs. I am anxious to see whatyour Lodges do to promote our great Order.I am also very interested in learning about your State’s Major Project. I am a strong supporterof children with special needs and look forward to hearing what you are doing to further yourproject.Bonnie and I are looking forward to what is sure to be a fun-filled weekend learning how WestVirginia Elks work for Elkdom. Directions to theMorgantown Elks LodgeWith the construction on the Point Marion Road (i.e., U.S. 119), please use the attached mapto get to the Morgantown Elks Lodge.Stop light.Stop light.4. Immediate rightjust over the bridgeStop light.Stop sign3. Stop light.Turn right.Stop light.5. Turn right ontoChestnut Ridge Road.No stoplight or stop1. Proceed out the Lakeview Drive to the stop sign.2. Turn left onto Cheat Road3. Cross over the bridge and continue on Cheat Road. Proceed straight through the stopsign. At the stoplight, turn right.4. Cross the bridge over the Interstate and take an immediate right onto Canyon Road.5. Follow Canyon Road. At the first stoplight (landmark: Circle K on the right), go straightthrough. At the second stoplight, go straight through. At the third stoplight (landmark:Hampton Center on right), go straight through. At the fourth stoplight, go straightthrough.
