EnglishHDS Super, HDS 655, HDS 695 S, HDS 895 S, HDS 1195Water connectionFor connected loads, refer to Technical Data.Install the supply hose to the water inlet(item 18) of the unit.(supply hose is not part of scope of delivery)Drawing in water from tankWhen you suction water out of an opencontainer you should– disconnect the water inlet at the pump head.– unscrew the top supply hose to the water tankand connect it to the pump head.– use a water suction hose with a minimumdiameter of 3/4" provided with a vacuum filter.* Until the pump sucks up water you should:– turn the pressure and flow regulation to MAX.– close the metering valve for the cleaningagent.– Never suction up water out of a potable watertank.– Never suction up solvent-bearing liquids suchas paint thinner, benzine, oil or unfilteredwater. The seals in the unit are not resistantto solvents. The mist of solvents is highlyinflammable, explosive and poisonous!Mains connectionRefer to technical data and rating plate forconnected loads.Whenever socket is changed, checkdirection of rotation of motorIf direction of rotation is correct, powerful jet ofair will be felt at exhaust-gas opening of burner. If the direction of rotation is wrong: Change thepoles at the unit plug. See Figure 16.If an extension cable is used, this should alwaysbe fully uncoiled and have an adequate crosssection.21OPERATIONWarning! (Only HDS Super)Lengthy operation of the unit can lead tovibration-related circulatory disturbances of thehands. It is not possible to specify a generallyapplicable use duration, since this is dependentand influenced by a number of factors:— Personal predisposition to badcirculation(frequent suffering from coldfingers, pins and needles in fingers).— In low ambient temperatures. Wear warmgloves to keep hands warm.— Gripping tightly impedes circulation.— Continuous operation is more detrimentalthan operation interrupted by breaks. We recommend a medical examination if theunit is regularly used for extensive, continuousoperation and the corresponding symptoms(such as, for example, pins and needles infingers or cold fingers) are recurrent.Switch the unit onSet the unit switch (item 23) to "I"The ready for working indicator lamp (item 28)is litThe temperature regulator (item 24) must be atsetting "0", since it is otherwise possible that theburner switches itself onUnit starts up briefly and is switched off as soonas operating pressure is reached.* Stop the unit immediately if the indicatorlamps (item 25-item 27) light up during itsoperation. Eliminate fault, refer to Faults.Figure 8Release handgunActuation of handgun switches unit back onagain.Bleed pump if no water emerges from highpressure nozzle. Refer to Faults "No build-up ofpressure by unit"
