PointClickCare General System Technical Specifications 2021What’s NewUnsupported Transport Layer Security (TLS) VersionsEffective December 1, 2021, PointClickCare is disabling support for Transport Layer Security (TLS)verions 1.0 and 1.1 to maintain the highest security standards and promote the safety of your HealthInformation System (HIS). If you have not yet updated your TLS version to 1.2 or later, you mustupdate before December 1, 2021. If you do not update your TLS version, on December 1st, you will notbe able to access PointClickCare. Older web browsers may need configuration changes, and some arenot compatible with TLS 1.2. Users with incompatible browsers or operating systemsmust upgrade to newer software. For information on how to update your TLS version, see BrowserSpecific Configurations on page 9.Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) DeprecationPointClickCare currently supports Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) on Windows 10. However, Microsoft plansto discontinue IE 11 support on June 15, 2022 and recommends using Microsoft Edge as your defaultbrowser.If you still use IE 11, it is highly recommended to upgrade to another supported browser sooner ratherthan later. For more information, see Supported Operating System and Browser Combinationson page 5.Document ManagerEffective December 2, 2021, the Document Manager New Signer Experience (eSign), nolonger supports Edge in IE mode (Internet Explorer compatibility). If Edge in IE mode is used witheSign, ensure IE mode is set to Don't allow. This includes devices owned by others outside yourorganization.Supported browsers are the latest and 2 previous versions of Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Firefox, andSafari.SecurityWhen configuring hardware and software to support PointClickCare applications, it is recommended toimplement vendor supported operating systems and browsers. Using a vendor supported operatingsystem and browser is the best way to protect your organization from online threats. Outdated systemsoften stop providing upgrades needed to keep them secure. Browser requirements for PointClickCareproducts are aligned with the Microsoft Lifecycle support policy for Internet Explorer.
