What you will learn in this guide:In this guide you will learn not only about the 7 main chakras but the higher chakrasand the meanings of the 8, 9th, 10, 11th 12th and 13th chakras. You will also learnabout animal chakras, how to balance chakras, understand the colour meanings ofchakras and finally a selection of chakra charts that you can print off.Understanding ChakrasChakra is a Sanskrit word that translates as wheel or disc or turning. It is pronouncedsharrkra.Chakra is a concept referring to wheel-like vortices, which, according to traditionalIndian medicine, are believed to exist in the surface of the etheric double of man.The Chakras are said to be "force centres" or whirls of energy permeating, from apoint on the physical body, the layers of the subtle bodies in an ever-increasing fanshaped formation (the fans make the shape of a love heart). Rotating vortices ofsubtle matter, they are considered the focal points for the reception and transmissionof energies. Seven major chakras or energy centres (also understood as wheels oflight) are generally believed to exist, located within the subtle body. Practitioners ofHinduism and New Age Spirituality believe the chakras interact with the body'sductless endocrine glands and lymphatic system by feeding in good bio-energiesand disposing of unwanted bio-energies.It is typical for chakras to be depicted in either of two ways:Flower likeWheel likeIn the former, a specific number of petals are shown around theperimeter of a circle. In the latter, a certain number of spokes dividethe circle into segments that make the chakra resemble a wheel orchakra. Each chakra possesses a specific number of segments orpetals.www.lunacourses.com (Professional Therapy Course Providers)

CHAKRA STONESChakra stones are used as healing therapy and may be affected by our mental, emotional, and psychic tendencies. Chakras can be blocked by negative energiesand will need cleansing as well. Here are the seven most common Chakra stonesand how they are used in healing therapy:1. Crown Chakra: Amethyst, clear quartz. Very high vibrational crystals.2. Third Eye Chakra: Sodalite.3. Throat Chakra: Turquoise, blue lace agate, lapis4. Heart Chakra: Malachite, jade, rose quartz5. Solar Plexus Chakra: Citrine, yellow agate6. Sacral Chakra: Carnelian7. Base Chakra: Ruby, garnet, bloodstoneChakra stones are used to help heal specific areas of the body. In fact, some peoplebelieve that each of the chakras represents a specific gland or system in the body.Chakra stones and healing therapy go hand in hand to help you begin to heal yourbody, or another's body's. While medical science is often exact to a point, chakrastones and their healing therapy powers will be something more felt than seen. Theresults, instead of the process will be what people will be able to see.www.lunacourses.com (Professional Therapy Course Providers)

Crystal/Stone LayoutChoose your crystals and arrange them in sequence beside where you will be lying.Lie down and relax. To gently balance and realign your chakra energies, place onestone of the appropriate colour on each chakra area for a few minutes.Crown ChakraPlace a violet crystal or clear quartz crystal just above the top of the head. This willintegrate and balance all aspects of the self - physical, mental, emotional andspiritual, and will promote positive thought patterns, inspiration and imagination.Brow ChakraPlace an indigo or dark blue crystal in the centre of the foreheadto promote intuitive skills and memory and to increase understanding and selfknowledge.Throat ChakraPlace a light blue crystal at the base of the throat to bring peacefulness, easecommunication difficulties and to promote self-expression.Heart ChakraPlace a green crystal in the centre of the chest to promote a sense of calm, create asense of direction in life and to balance your relationship with others and the world. Apink stone can be added for emotional clearing.Solar Plexus ChakraPlace a yellow crystal between the navel and the ribcage to reduce anxiety, clearyour thoughts and improve confidence.Sacral ChakraPlace an orange coloured crystal on the lower abdomen. This will balance creativityand release stress and blocks in your life that prevent enjoyment.Base ChakraPlace a red or black crystal near the base of the spine between your legs, oralternatively place two red stones, of the same sort, on the top of each leg. This willbalance physical energy, motivation and practicality and promote a sense of reality.www.lunacourses.com (Professional Therapy Course Providers)

The colours schemes of the animal chakra system are similarly situated like ours andhave practically and substantially the same functions as human chakras. Whatdiffers is that most forms of animals are quadrupeds and the alignment of chakras ispositioned horizontally. In animals, the energy field is usually wider. This condition is due to its naturalsurvival instinct and they tend to absorb much more sensory information thanhumans. They receive and distribute energy through the chakras individually, whichmakes them sensitive to subtle vibrations and atmospheric changes.www.lunacourses.com (Professional Therapy Course Providers)

Some animals, for instance, become agitated before a thunderstorm or anearthquake; they are able to experience different kind of vibrations that humans areincapable of perceiving. Please Note: The information contained below is not meant as a substitutefor seeking professional help if you have an animal who is sick, injured oryou think may be unwell. Always seek help and advice from a qualifiedveterinary surgeon in the first instance.IntroductionCopyright of the following article is provided courtesy of Patinkas 2009-2012Animals, in common with all other living beings, have a chakrasystem. This system is a complex network of spinning, energy vortices(often called ‘petals’ in Eastern traditions) which run throughout the entirebody. Universal energy (Prana, Chi, Ki) flows in and out of the chakras, along the meridian system, into the aura and then finally into the physicalbody. The energy flows two ways; inward and out. Therefore, everythought, act and emotion affects the chakras and is mirrored in theaura. Likewise, external stimuli, both positive and negative, have an effecton the chakras and leave their mark in the aura (including physicalinjuries). This is the same for animals and humans alike. For those unfamiliar with the chakra system, if you imagine the subtle energy body(made up of chakras, linked to meridians and contained in the aura) as being like acar engine, and the physical body is the actual vehicle which the engine drives, it isnot difficult to see that when the car starts to perform less effectively or even breaksdown, that it’s the engine which needs repairing or re-tuning and not the carbodywork. It’s the same with the subtle energy body. When we re-charge/realign thechakras - get them spinning in harmony and at the correct rate – you get the physicalbody running smoothly once again.Animal ChakrasAnimals have 8 Major chakras, 21 Minor chakras and 6 Bud chakras. Alongside theseven Major chakras that animals share with humans (Crown, Third Eye, Throat,Heart, Solar Plexus, Sacral and Root), there is another Major chakra which is uniqueto animals. It is called the Brachial or Key chakra. This chakra was discovered bythe world’s foremost, internationally renowned, animal healer, Margrit Coates.Animals have: 8 Major Chakras21 Minor Chakraswww.lunacourses.com (Professional Therapy Course Providers)

6 Bud ChakrasThe Brachial chakra is located oneither side of the body, in thearea of the shoulders. It is themain energy centre in all animalsand links directly to all otherchakras. It is the centre whichrelates to animal-human interactionand any healing should alwaysbegin at this chakra. Animalswhich have a strong, healthy linkwith their human companionsusually have a vibrant Brachialchakra, as it is the centre wherethe animal-human bond is formedand carried. The Bud chakras are found one on each foot (pad, paw, hoof, etc) and one on theskin at the base opening of each ear (see right). They are especially receptive tosubtle energy vibrations; for example changes in the weather like a thunderstorm, oreven impending, major earth events like an earthquake or hurricane. The Budchakras located in the feet are often used to source areas of energy in the groundwhich are beneficial to the animal. When they find these areas they may paw theground before either laying or rolling on the spot (not to be confused with a dogfinding something ‘smelly’ to roll in!). Standing on such an area can also help groundan animal. The 21 Minor chakras in animals are sensory centres and can be found, in amongother places, on the nose, tail and ears. Whilst the Bud and Minor chakras aresmaller energy centres than the Major ones, they are every bit as important andassist in the function of the Major chakras.Below: Illustration showing position of the Major Chakras, the primary Minor Chakraand Bud Chakras on animals. Whilst the illustration is of a horse, the placement is the same for all animals (allowing for scale and body shape). 10Unsurprisingly, most animals’ senses or instincts are farmore finely tuned and sensitive than humans’ (althoughsome animals are more developed than others, likedolphins). As a result, animal chakras are usually farbrighter and larger in comparison to ours. Their strongsixth sense emanates from the primary sensory centre;one of the 21 Minor chakras. This is located at thebridge of the nose, below the Third Eye or Browchakra. Animals are constantly absorbing andcomputing sensory information; far more so thanhumans owing to their reliance on instinct forsurvival. Aside from using the Bud chakras in their feetas mentioned above, they may also be seen rubbing apart of their body against a tree, rolling on the ground oreven rubbing up against their fellow animal or humancompanions to stimulate a chakra. An animal who hassuffered from physical, mental or emotional trauma, however, may not always be able to repair the resulting energetic imbalance and thisis where we find signs of disease (dis-ease) present. Each chakra corresponds to an aspect of the self; thought, emotion, senses, instinctand so on. Whilst governing the same physical areas, animal chakras have, however, developed or evolved slightly differently from humans’. This can be furtherdefined with differences between domestic and wild animals. For example, you tendto find a more developed Heart chakra in wild animals (strong herd hierarchy) plus amore pronounced Root Chakra (stronger sense of survival). With a wild horse youwill see a stronger flight response (Solar Plexus chakra) than in a Thoroughbred,www.lunacourses.com (Professional Therapy Course Providers)

We have mainly spoke about the 7 major chakras however its now becoming moreand more apparent that as we evolve so do our 8th, 9th, 10th 11th 12th and 13thchakras. Lets take a look at the meaning of these higher vibrational chakras.Eighth ChakraThe first of the spiritual chakra, numbered eight, sits above the 7th chakra about twofeet. This is known as the energy centre of divine love, of spiritual compassion andspiritual selflessness. This chakra also holds your karmic residue -- those energypatterns that you have held on to for more than one lifetime. When the eighth centrebegins to open up and expand, a new spiritual awareness begins to take shape. Theeighth chakra does have a colour associated to it and it is what you consider to beultraviolet light. Unfortunately you are unable to see what ultraviolet light looks like(at least not with your conventional vision). Please note that it is not a good idea for aperson with a closed 8th chakra to try to open up that centre in another individual. Ifit could be done, there could be adverse effects. Suffice it to say that anyone thathas healing abilities, out of body capability, clairvoyance, or even in- depth dreamrecall, most likely has a functioning 8th chakra and will be able to do work on thischakra. It is possible.Ninth ChakraThe ninth chakra sits approximately four feet above the head. This chakra emits aradiant energy that looks like a spinning rainbow. Depending on what skills a personis presently pulling out of this skill-storehouse, for use in the outer world, willdetermine the predominate colour emanating from this chakra; so assigning aparticular colour to this chakra tends to be meaningless. This chakra holds thekarmic blueprint of the individual. It stores the skills and abilities learned in alllifetimes. This chakra also holds the key to the soul's destiny. The ninth chakra is theknowledge-base for the soul. It houses all the information and life-experiences thatare part of that individual. The individual accesses this chakra when he or she bringsforth a past skill that is presently needed. These previous skills become veryimportant as the individual begins to awaken spiritually and the higher-chakra open. Many of the past lessons and skills must be merged in a kind of synthesis thatcements together all of the lessons (human and spiritual) that the soul has endured. The soul then learns the true meaning of what was being accomplished from theentire human experience and, then, finally, spiritual wisdom sets in.Tenth ChakraThe tenth chakra is located eight to ten feet on top of the crown chakra. When thetenth chakra starts to open up the individual will begin to manifest many of the skillsthey have learned in all of their previous lives. These individuals will seem to excel atanything they undertake and any project they are involved with will take off from theirinfluence. It is not that they are just good at doing everything. Rather they aretapping into previous skills learned in past lives. The barriers between the pastwww.lunacourses.com (Professional Therapy Course Providers)

selves are breaking down and knowledge and wisdom begins to flow through timeand space. The tenth chakra can be seen like a tornado of light filling the individualwith perfect divine energy. A fully functional tenth chakra will have a rainbow likeeffect coming from its swirling mass of energy. If any blockages are present thesedisturbances of blocked energy will cause the rainbow effect to be broken up. Thenindividual is not fully bathed in the integration energies of the tenth chakra.Eleventh ChakraThe Eleventh chakra contains the energetic connections necessary so the individualcan manifest advanced spiritual skills, like, travel beyond the limits of time andspace, teleportation, bi-location, telekinesis and instantaneous precipitation ofthoughts into matter. Keep in mind that while this chakra possesses these skills theindividual will not actually start to manifest or master these skills until the twelfthchakra starts to open.Twelfth ChakraThe 12th Chakra, is a wonderful sight to see with the third eye! It vibrates like aswirling color-filled sun that can only be truly appreciated in out of body states or withthe mind's inner eyes. The 12th chakra is the doorway to the cosmos and beyond. For this reason many of the skills released here are meant to be used off the earthand beyond.Thirteenth ChakraThe energy of the 13th chakra is that of Unconditional Love. Unlike the seven majorcentres of the body, this one cannot become blocked. What can become blockedhowever is our awareness of it. This centre is like a beacon of love and light that iseternally shining on us, delivering to us bliss and wellbeing at every moment of ourexistence. It is our interconnectedness to source. The truth contained in the awareness of this energy centre is what everyone islooking for: it is simply, happiness. Buddha's famous last words were (allegedly),"There is no Way to Peace and Happiness - Peace and Happiness is the Way."These are profound words, and yet they are not the words we are taught to live by.Somehow we have swallowed the belief that happiness lies outside ourselves, that itis something to be pursued, purchased, found in a mall, a restaurant, a relationship,or a pill. The truth is, that while this is a world of suffering, it is merely an illusion andlove is behind all of it.www.lunacourses.com (Professional Therapy Course Providers)

CHAKRA READINGS & BALANCINGUsing the 7 main chakras that are connected to our being on several different levels,Physical, Emotional, Mental and Spiritual. On the physical level the chakras govern aspecific main organ or gland. Each chakra also has its own colour which is connected to the same vibrationalfrequency. For example the heart chakra which is the colour green governs thethymus gland which is involved with the heart, lungs, lymph glands, bronchia system, immune system, as well as the hands and arms.To help balance our chakras either on an emotional, spiritual or physical level weneed to uses the correct colour vibration, which resonates at the same frequency. When any of our chakras get blocked or are out of balance this is then felt on bothon an emotional and physical level.Understanding the colourswww.lunacourses.com (Professional Therapy Course Providers)

Our main source of heat and energy is sunlight. Sunlight consists of energies in theform of electromagnetic waves and part of these rays include cosmic rays, gammarays, x-rays, visible light rays, infrared rays, micro waves and short and long waves. We do of course use these energies in our day to day lives. We do not seemhowever to put much emphasis on the visible light rays. The reason why they arereferred to as visible light rays is due to the fact that we can see them. You canbreak down the spectrum of light rays into seven different beams of colour by holdinga prism toward the sun. Light consists of the seven colour energies, which are RED,YELLOW, GREEN, BLUE, INDIGO and VIOLET.www.lunacourses.com (Professional Therapy Course Providers)

Each of these colours has a different wavelength and vibrational frequency, which iswhy a trained colour therapist will use these energies when healing with colour. Redfor instance has the longest wavelength and the slowest vibrational frequency whichis why we recognize instinctively this as warm and stimulating colour. Violet has theshortest wavelength and the fastest frequency and this is recognised as a cool andcalming energy. Many of our body functions can be either stimulated or retarded bylight and the various colours which in turn affect our chakra system.Science has proved that certain colours will stimulate or calm mental activity. Weneed light energy to nourish our brains, also to help balance our emotions and ourphysical body. Light enters through our skin and breath. We receive colour energythrough a balance of various coloured foods, herbs, vitamins, minerals, décor, aromatherapy, clothing etc.We are now starting to become more aware about the human psyche and itsintricate systems. Medical science has now proved that toxins and other impuritiescan influence our body. For example Negative thoughts and chemical enhancementsin our food and feeling stressed can all affect us both physically and mentally.Pollution can cause chakra imbalances to manifest and again this can lead to anaffect on a physical level. This is why alternative healers are now more and more indemand. We all have the ability to heal ourselves, and learning how to balance andcleanse your chakra system on a daily or weekly basis can and will improve yourstate of health and mind.Benefits of a balanced chakra systemThe benefits of learning and understanding about your own chakra system willenable you to gain balance in both mind, body and spirit and bring all into harmony. When all of your 7 chakra centres are communicating equally and working in alliancewith each other you will have more physical energy, not suffer stress and will feelstrong and alert.Learning the practice of Colour Therapy, Aromatherapy, Crystal healing and alsousing controlled breathing exercises and rhythmic exercise routines, Reiki healingand directed meditation with the use of audio even crystals and gemstones are butsome of the ways we learn to influence the process of interaction of our body’senergy points.www.lunacourses.com (Professional Therapy Course Providers)
