The intricatedetail of love, compassion and glamour in themosaics, including Seven Virtues, Awakening of theMuses, Virginia Wolf and Greta Garbo will add toyour very own love story.Level 2DID YOU KNOW:One of Russian artist Boris Anrep’s ideas to decorate the Gallery’sfloor came from the pavement artists working in Trafalgar Square inthe 1930's.6

Guest portraitscourtesy of influential British artists - includingHogarth and Gainsborough - are already waitingfor you as you walk past the marble pillars andtake your seats under the breath-taking glassdomed ceiling.Level 2DID YOU KNOW The Barry Rooms, opened in 1876, had previously been home to theRoyal Academy.8

THE WOHLROOMThe spacious Wohl Room, in the historic part of thebuilding, has capacity for up to 260 guests. Youcan take your seats within the sights and scenes ofVenetian Renaissance paintings, by world-famousartists including Veronese, Tintoretto, Bassanoand Bordone.Relax into your evening with delicious menus andbeautiful table settings lavishly created by your chosencaterer, all within the backdrop of this luxurious room– gold gilded frames, lush damask walls, glass ceilingand of course world-class paintings.Level 2DID YOU KNOW The paintings in the Wohl Room are from 1530–1600, a perioddominated by Titian and the three family workshops of Tintoretto,Veronese and Bassano. These works of art were commissioned tobe hung in the Venetian palazzi known for their hospitality.9

Our event caterer maycharge to chill, deliver and serve your drinks.The National Gallery is open to the public until 18:00. Suppliershave access to set up from 18:00 with guest arrival from 18:30/45.This allows the suppliers time to set the scene before guests arrive.CAN WE PROVISIONALLY HOLD A DATE?WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE VENUE HIRE FEE?CAN WE BOOK OTHER SPACES IN THE GALLERY?We’ll hold a date for your wedding celebration, free of charge and withno obligation, once you have booked a show around. The balance amount is due two monthsbefore your wedding celebration day.Yes, we’ll suggest locations for taking photos ahead of your day.Your event will be priced on your requirements and requests.Prices start from 12,000 VAT.ARE YOU LICENSED FOR CIVIL CEREMONIES?CAN WE HAVE CONFETTI IN THE GALLERY?DO I NEED INSURANCE?We’re not licensed for wedding ceremonies, but we can suggest venuesnearby that are. Alternatively, you can have a symbolic blessing, thatdoesn’t need a license.You can have confetti outside the building, but it is not possible in thebuilding. This includes paper, petal, rice, bubbles and sparklers.Yes. As your wedding celebration will be in a listed building withpriceless masterpieces, you will need to have Public Liability Insurance.Most insurance companies offer the minimum cover of 10 million, ata small cost.CAN WE USE OUR OWN SUPPLIERS?CAN WE HAVE CANDLES IN THE GALLERY?As we are a Grade I listed building with priceless paintings, we ask youto work with our preferred event partners for your catering, lighting,flowers, entertainment and audio visual requirements.We can’t light candles inside the Gallery, but our florists can suggestalternative options and effects.12
