From the SupervisorDear Friends,On May 1, 2018the HuntingtonTown Board andthe HuntingtonBeautificationCouncilissued a 2018BeautificationCHAD LUPINACCIAward to theSupervisorHuntington PublicTown of HuntingtonArt AdvisoryCommittee in recognition of the 25public art projects installed on selectedTraffic Signal Boxes in HuntingtonVillage and Huntington Station since2015. Designed by local and regionalartists, these public art installations havebeen very popular with Town residentsand visitors alike, providing creativeaccents that enhance the uniquenessand livability of these two importantpedestrian retail districts in ourcommunity.Images and further informationabout these 25 signal box projectinstallations can be found on the Town’swebsite at www.HuntingtonNY.gov/TrafficSignalBoxes. However, as with anyartwork, these are best experienced inperson, so please look for these projectsas you travel in Huntington Villageand Huntington Station (see the abovewebpage for downloadable maps ofsignal box project locations).Due to the positive community response,a new round of signal box projectinstallations has been approved bythe Town Board, which are expectedto take place this fall.
