The RHH is the secondlongest running institution in Tasmania andemploys over 3,000 people.The Royal Hobart Hospital provides a range oftreatments and services. As well as caring forpatients who are admitted to hospital manyservices are also offered to patients when they are discharged, in emergency situations through theEmergency Department and at specialist clinics on a doctor’s referral.The Royal Hobart Hospital has recently completed a restructure with a 10 Storey Redevelopment TheAustralian and Tasmanian Governments committed a total of 689 million to the RHH Redevelopment Project,making it the largest ever health infrastructure project in Tasmania. More than 20 million in much neededsitewide infrastructure upgrades are also underway with high and low voltage electricity systems beingupgraded along with other essential services such as medical gasses and water and sewerage systems. In May2018, Tasmania’s new state-of-the-art hyperbaric chamber was installed on Level 3 of K-Block.
