Warnings and AgreementsWelcome! The PinPAC Pinball Person AudioController has been designed for simplicity ofinstallation! As with any Pinball Machinemodification and add on kit there is a required levelof expertise for the installation. If you are notproficient in basic pinball parts installation werecommend having our kit installed by someone whois proficient with the basics of pinball repair.Pinnovators requires our kit be installed by anexperienced Pinball service technician with basicelectrical skills. As with any electrical piece ofequipment a danger does exist and you must agreeto not hold Pinnovators responsible for any injury,damages, etc. before continuing.Sound Levels: Pinnovators recommends runningyour headphone sound level at a safe level toprevent long term hearing loss. For a good exampleof recommend sound levels, we recommendfollowing suggestions given by major audioequipment manufacturers such as Apple and om/article/1060274/hearingprotection.htmlESD: We recommend always discharging theheadphone cable by touching it to an exposed metalpart of the pinball machine before plugging it intothe machine.Power Cord: ALWAYS UNPLUG THE POWER CORDfor safety when working on your pinball machine!Playfield Propping: Pinnovators highly advisesfollowing Playfield propping instruction for yourpinball machine. These instructions are typicallyfound inside the Operators manual for eachmachine. Failure to follow these instructions cancause fatal injuries or even Death. Pinnovators alsorecommends having an assistant hold a proppedplayfield in the up position when servicing under theplayfield.21. Preparation330 003 WPC DM WPC-Dot Matrix (ExampleMachines: T2 and Twilight Zone)Unplug the Pinball Machine!The sound board is the upper center board on aTwilight Zone.Next remove the back glass on the system and openthe light board to expose the System circuit boards.Star Trek The Next Generation is shown below as anexample.4. Locate the speaker connectors shown by the redarrows in the picture. Remove two speakerconnectors by carefully rocking the connectors whilepulling them out:Insert the original Speaker cables on to the pinsof the Back Box Board. Note: the connectorscan go on either set of pins without causingdamage and will function properly.Plug supplied Pinnovators cable into the RJ45jack on the Back Box Board Connector.Route the cable into the cable harness clip as shown.Insert the Back Box Board into the speakerconnectors on the sound card as shown below.Make sure it’s fully inserted and aligned properly.ALIGNMENT is CRITICAL! You may damageyour sound board if the connector is notproperly aligned. Check it twice!4Feed the remaining cable down the bottom of theBack Box and into the cabinet.Reassemble the Back Box.

5. Coin Door InstallationPinPAC1:6. Coin Door InstallationPinPAC2:PinPAC2MAC see addendum below.Remove Dollar Bill Acceptor blank plate by unboltingthe two or four nuts as shown and / or the twoscrews below as shown. Note: Save the washers. Thewashers are used to properly space the length of thescrew. Some coin doors have four threaded studsattached to the coin door. The PinPAC1 Universalplate will fit most coin doors and can be securedusing the original hardware.Insert the PinPAC1 plate as shown below. Positionthe ESD ground wire (the green wire) under thenearest available threaded stud. Fasten with theoriginal hardware.5Remove Dollar Bill Acceptor blank plate by unboltingthe two or four nuts as shown and / or the twoscrews below as shown. Note: Save the washers. Thewashers are used to properly space the length of thescrew. Some coin doors have four threaded studsattached to the coin door. The PinPAC2 Universalplate will fit Stern coin doors.Insert the PinPAC2 plate as shown below.Position the ESD ground wire (the green wire)under the nearest available threaded stud.Fasten with the original hardware. (Note. Thispicture shows the cable installed but we willinstall at a later step.)

7. Running the cableUsing a helper, remove the playfield glass and lift upthe playfield. Depending on the game, tuck the newcable into the wire harness clips as shown. Leave anextra foot of cable up at the Back Box area if youplan on folding the back box down. In some systems,the cable may not be able to be installed in the wireharness due to length and the position of the Soundboard (Stern SAM). In this case, neatly place the wireon the floor of the cabinet and run it to the coindoor area.9. Final Checkout8. Coin door Final installationInsert the end of the Interface cable into the RJ45Connector on the PinPAC1 or 2 front control panel asshown.Route the cable into the cable harness clip behindthe door as shown. Test the door to make sure itcloses properly. Adjust as necessary.6Power up the system and start a game. Makesure the front panel switch on the PinPACControl panel is in the “UP” position. Verifysound can be heard from the Back Box speakersand the lower Cabinet speaker. Switch theswitch to the “Down” position and verify thespeakers turn off. Insert headphones into thejack and verify levels in headphones can beadjusted with the volume control knob.

We also tested a moderately priced set ofheadphones 30 and was still blown away by howgood the bass response was and how clear the treblewas!Thank your purchase of our product! We hope youget many years of service from it.The Pinnovators Team.This trim pot has different functionalitydepending on the Back Box Board type. Themain purpose was to allow the user to“Mix” the Cabinet speaker channel and theBack Box Speaker channels going into theheadphones. The trim pot provides areasonable amount of mix on most of theboards. The PinPAC2 Master Audio Controller hasbeen designed for Stern Sam pinball machines with aconnector in series with the system settings buttonsAND now Whitestar/SAM systems that do NOT havean inline connector. For Export SAM systems withoutthe connector, the adapter can be ordered from ourwebsite.15. Coin Door cable Installation(Stern SAM systems withconnector)The Front panel should already be installedaccording to the installation manual included inthis kit.10Route the PP2MAC remote cable over the topof the coin slots as shown. Route it down to thesystem control panel buttons. NOTE: The threecolor cable is now a flat three color ribboncable.SAM Machines with inline connector:Cut the tie-wrap as shown then disconnect themale to male jumper. Insert the PP2MAC cableconnector into the two female connectors asshown below.

Latest MAC Kits:16.Posi-Taps!The latest version of the MAC kit has a smallPrinted Circuit board with connectors mountedto it. The PCB is inserted in line with the cablegoing to the coin door pushbuttons as shownbelow.For Whitestar and Export SAM machines.This optional adapter uses three Posi-Tapconnectors. 17.Final CheckoutPower up the system and start a new game. Makesure the front panel switch on the PinPAC Controlpanel is in the “UP” position. Verify sound can beheard from the system speakers.Operate the System Volume UP button andverify the system volume increases.
