Verily, all Praise is for Allaah. We seek His Help and His forgiveness. We seek refugewith Him from the evil of our own souls and from our bad deeds. Whomsoever Allaahguides will never be led astray and whomsoever Allaah leads astray, none can guide. Ibear witness that there is no God worthy of worship but Allaah alone, without anypartners, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.To proceed :The most truthful speech is that of Allaah's Book (the Qur'aan) and the best of guidanceis that of Muhammad (sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam). The worst of evils are the newlyinvented matters (foreign to the true teachings of Islaam), and every newly inventedmatter (in the religion) is a bid'ah (innovation) and evey bid'ah is a dhalaalah(misguidance) and every misguidance is in the Fire of Hell.One of the most important pillars of tawheed (knowledge and belief of Allaah) ; is theknowledge of the 99 beautiful names of Allaah , and also the attributes of Allaah. This isbecause The Legislation of Islaam directs every muslim to know these , as they are partof the aqeedah and part of everyday ibadah . Allah orders us in His saying : ﺳﻤَﺂ ِﺋ ِﻪ ْ ن ﻓِﻲ َأ َ ﺤﺪُو ِ ﻦ ُﻳ ْﻠ َ ﺴﻨَﻰ ﻓَﺎ ْدﻋُﻮ ُﻩ ِﺑﻬَﺎ َو َذرُو ْا اﱠﻟﺬِﻳ ْ ﺤ ُ ﺳﻤَﺎء ا ْﻟ ْ ﻷ َ َوِﻟّﻠ ِﻪ ا ن َ ن ﻡَﺎ آَﺎﻥُﻮ ْا َﻳ ْﻌ َﻤﻠُﻮ َ ﺠ َﺰ ْو ْ ﺳُﻴ َ“ And (all) the Most Beautiful Names belong to Allah, so call on Him by them, and leavethe company of those who belie or deny (or utter impious speech against) His Names.They will be requited for what they used to do. ”[Al-‘Aaraaf :180]Thus the verse clearly displays :1. -tamtheel / tashbeeh (to claim Allaah’s Attributes resemble the attributes of thecreation),ta’teel (denying any of Allaah’s attributes)ta’weel (to give a figurative explanation of any of Allaah’s Attributes).And this is the backbone of the aqeedah (creed) of the Prophet (sallahAllahu alayhiwasallam) and his companions (radhiyaAllaahu anhum ajma’in) and the piouspredecessors.The importance of these Beautiful Names of Allah and their number ; is specified in theauthentic hadeeths narrated by al-Bukharee that The Prophet (sallahAllahu alayhiwasallam) said :“ Allah has ninety-nine names, i.e., one hundred minus one, and whoever believes intheir meanings and acts accordingly, will enter Paradise.”and another narration"Allah has ninety-nine names, one-hundred less one; and he who memorized them all byheart will enter Paradise."Hence we know the exact number of The Names of Allaah ( 99 ), and we see theimportance of Knowing the Names of Allah and memorizing them ; it leads a person tojannah (paradise).This is only with a condition : as the The Prophet (sallahAllahu alayhi wasallam) said :to also act upon them . And this ‘acting upon them’ is what is mentioned in the forementioned verse of the Qura’n i.e worshipping Allaah and supplication by TheBeautiful Names ( and following the obligations and staying away from theprohibitions).Many esteemed salafi ulamaa of past and present era , have compiled a list of thebeautiful names of Allaah. THE FIRST[3: ]اﻟﺤﺪﻳﺪ ل ُ ﻷوﱠ َ ا -14( ﻋﻠِﻴ ٌﻢ َ ﻲ ٍء ْ ﺵ َ ﻦ َو ُه َﻮ ِﺑ ُﻜﻞﱢ ُ ﻃ ِ ﺥ ُﺮ وَاﻟﻈﱠﺎ ِه ُﺮ وَاﻟﺒَﺎ ِ ) ُه َﻮ ا َﻷوﱠ ُل وَاﻵ “ He is The First (nothing is before Him) and the Last (nothing is after Him), theMost High (nothing is above Him) and the Most Near (nothing is nearer thanHim). ALLAH IS AL-WITR (ONE) اﻟ ِﻮ ْﺗ ُﺮ -26، ﺠﱠﻨ َﺔ َ ﻞ ا ْﻟ َ ﺥ َ ﻻ َد ﺡ ٌﺪ ِإ ﱠ َ ﻈﻬَﺎ َأ ُ ﺤ َﻔ ْ ﻻ َﻳ َ ، ﺡﺪًا ِ ﻻ وَا ﻡِﺎ َﺋ ٌﺔ ِإ ﱠ ، ﺳﻤًﺎ ْ نا َ ﺴﻌُﻮ ْ ﺴ َﻌ ٌﺔ َو ِﺗ ْ ) ِﻟﱠﻠ ِﻪ ِﺗ ( ﺤﺐﱡ ا ْﻟ َﻮ ْﺗ َﺮ ِ َو ْه َﻮ َو ْﺗ ٌﺮ ُﻳ “ Allah has ninety-nine Names, one hundred minus one, and whoevermemorizes them (believes in their meanings, and acts accordingly) will enterParadise; and Allah is Witr (one) and loves 'the witr' (i.e., odd numbers).”[ Al-Bukhari : 6047 ]THE GRACEFUL ﻞ ُ ﺠﻤِﻴ َ اﻟ -27 ﺴﻌُﻮ ٍد رﺿﻲ اﷲ ﻋﻨﻪ أن اﻟﻨﱠﺒﻲ ﺹﻠﻰ اﷲ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ْ ﻦ َﻡ ِ ﻋ ْﺒ ِﺪ اﻟﱠﻠ ِﻪ ْﺑ َ ورد اﻻﺳﻢ ﻓﻲ ﺹﺤﻴﺢ ﻡﺴﻠﻢ ﻡﻦ ﺡﺪﻳﺚ : وﺳﻠﻢ ﻗَﺎ َل ﻞ َ ﺝ ُ ن اﻟ ﱠﺮ ِإ ﱠ : ﻞ ٌ ﺝ ُ ل َر َ ﻗَﺎ ، ﻦ ِآ ْﺒ ٍﺮ ْ ل َذ ﱠر ٍة ِﻡ ُ ن ﻓِﻲ َﻗ ْﻠ ِﺒ ِﻪ ِﻡ ْﺜﻘَﺎ َ ﻦ آَﺎ ْ ﺠﱠﻨ َﺔ َﻡ َ ﻞ ا ْﻟ ُ ﺥ ُ ﻻ َﻳ ْﺪ َ )، ل َ ﺠﻤَﺎ َ ﺤﺐﱡ ا ْﻟ ِ ﺟﻤِﻴ ٌﻞ ُﻳ َ ن اﻟﱠﻠ َﻪ ِإ ﱠ : ل َ ﻗَﺎ ، ﺴ َﻨ ًﺔ َ ﺡ َ ﺴﻨًﺎ َو َﻥ ْﻌُﻠ ُﻪ َ ﺡ َ ن َﺙ ْﻮُﺑ ُﻪ َ ن َﻳﻜُﻮ ْ ﺤﺐﱡ َأ ِ ُﻳ ( س ِ ﻂ اﻟﱠﻨﺎ ُ ﻏ ْﻤ َ ﻖ َو ﺤﱢ َ ﻄ ُﺮ ا ْﻟ َ ا ْﻟ ِﻜ ْﺒ ُﺮ َﺑ This name is mentioned in saheeh Muslim , from the hadeeth of Ibn Masu’d(radhiyaAllahu anhu) that the Messenger (sallahAllahu alayhi wasallam) said :“ He who has in his heart the weight of a mustard seed of pride shall not enterParadise. THE ONE CHARACTERISED BY MODESTY ﻲ ﺤ ِﻴ ﱡ َ اﻟ -28 ﻟﻢ ﻳﺮد اﻻﺳﻢ ﻓﻲ اﻟﻘﺮﺁن وﻟﻜﻦ ﺳﻤﺎﻩ ﺑﻪ اﻟﻨﺒﻲ ﺹﻠﻰ اﷲ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ وﺳﻠﻢ ﻓﻴﻤﺎ رواﻩ أﺑﻮ داود : ﻌﻠَﻰ ﺑﻦ أﻡﻴﺔ رﺿﻲ اﷲ ﻋﻨﻪ ْ وﺹﺤﺤﻪ اﻷﻟﺒﺎﻥﻲ ﻡﻦ ﺡﺪﻳﺚ َﻳ ﻼ ِإزَا ٍر َ ﻞ ﺑِﺎ ْﻟ َﺒﺮَا ِز ِﺑ ُ ﺴ ِ ﻼ َﻳ ْﻐ َﺘ ً ﺝ ُ ل اﻟﱠﻠ ِﻪ ﺹﻠﻰ اﷲ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ وﺳﻠﻢ َرأَى َر َ ن َرﺳُﻮ ) َأ ﱠ ﻋ ﱠﺰ َ ن اﻟﱠﻠ َﻪ ِإ ﱠ : ل ﺹﻠﻰ اﷲ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ وﺳﻠﻢ َ ﻋَﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ ُﺙﻢﱠ ﻗَﺎ َ ﺤ ِﻤ َﺪ اﻟﱠﻠ َﻪ َوَأ ْﺙﻨَﻰ َ ﺼ ِﻌ َﺪ ا ْﻟ ِﻤ ْﻨ َﺒ َﺮ َﻓ َ َﻓ ( ﺴ َﺘ ِﺘ ْﺮ ْ ﺡ ُﺪ ُآ ْﻢ َﻓ ْﻠ َﻴ َ ﻞ َأ َ ﺴ َ ﻏ َﺘ ْ ﺴ ْﺘ َﺮ َﻓِﺈذَا ا ﺤﻴَﺎ َء وَاﻟ ﱠ َ ﺤﺐﱡ ا ْﻟ ِ ﺳﺘﱢﻴ ٌﺮ ُﻳ ِ ﻰ ﺡ ِﻴ ﱞ َ ﻞ ﺝﱠ َ َو This name is not mentioned in the Qura’n , but the Messenger (sallahAllahu alayhiwasallam) named it : in what has been compiled by Abu Dawuud and declared saheehby al-Albanee . from the hadeeth of Ya'la (radhiyaAllahu anhu) that:The Apostle of Allah (sallahAllahu alayhi wasallam) saw a man washing in apublic place without a lower garment. So he mounted the pulpit, praised andextolled Allah and then he (sallahAllahu alayhi wasallam) said: “ Allah Azza waJalla is ( AL – HAYYIYU ) The One characterised by modesty and The Onecharacterised by concealment. So when any of you washes, he should concealhimself.”[Saheeh abu dawud 3387]THE ONE CHARACTERISED BY CONCEALMENT اﻟﺴﱢﺘﻴ ُﺮ -29 وﻗﺪ اﺵﺘﻬﺮ اﺳﻢ اﻟﺴﺘﺎر ﺑﻴﻦ اﻟﻨﺎس ﺑﺪﻻ ﻡﻦ ، ورد اﻻﺳﻢ ﻓﻲ اﻟﺴﻨﺔ ﻡﻘﺮوﻥﺎ ﺑﺎﺳﻢ اﷲ اﻟﺤﻴﻲ . اﻟﺴﺘﻴﺮ وهﻮ ﺥﻄﺄ ﻷﻥﻪ ﻟﻢ ﻳﺮد ﻓﻲ اﻟﻘﺮﺁن أو اﻟﺴﻨﺔ The name has been mentioned in the sunnah together with the preceeding name (AlHayiyyu) . And most people have confused/mixed the name as-sattar instead of ASSITTEER . And this is wrong as the name as-sattar is not established in the Qur’an norin the sunnah.almuflihoon.com

ﻖ ﺤﱡ َ اﻟ THE TRUTH-34{ٌ ﻲ ٍء َﻗﺪِﻳﺮ ْ ﺵ َ ﻋﻠَﻰ ُآﻞﱢ َ ﺤﻴِﻲ اﻟ َﻤ ْﻮﺗَﻰ َوَأﱠﻥ ُﻪ ْ ﻖ َوَأﱠﻥ ُﻪ ُﻳ ﺤﱡ َ ﷲ ُه َﻮ اﻟ َ نا ﻚ ِﺑَﺄ ﱠ َ ) َذِﻟ [6: ]اﻟﺤﺞ “ That is because Allâh, He is The Truth, and it is He Who gives life to the dead,and it is He Who is Able to do all things. “[Al - Hajj : 6] ﻦ ُ اﻟ ُﻤﺒِﻴ THE MANIFEST TRUTH-35( ﻦ ُ ﻖ اﻟ ُﻤﺒِﻴ ﺤﱡ َ ﷲ ُه َﻮ اﻟ َ نا ن َأ ﱠ َ ﻖ َو َﻳ ْﻌَﻠﻤُﻮ ﺤﱠ َ ﷲ دِﻳ َﻨ ُﻬ ُﻢ اﻟ ُ ) َﻳ ْﻮ َﻡ ِﺌ ٍﺬ ُﻳ َﻮﻓﱢﻴ ِﻬ ُﻢ ا [25: ]اﻟﻨﻮر “ On that Day Allâh will pay them the recompense of their deeds in full, andthey will know that Allâh, He is The Manifest Truth.”[Nur : 25] ي اﻟ َﻘ ِﻮ ِﱡ THE ALL-POWERFUL[66: ]هﻮد ( ي ا ْﻟ َﻌﺰِﻳ ُﺰ ﻚ ُه َﻮ ا ْﻟ َﻘ ِﻮ ﱡ َ ن َرﱠﺑ ) ِإ ﱠ “ Verily, your Lord, He is The All-Strong, The All-Mighty.”almuflihoon.com-36[Hud : 66]
THE PUISSANT / The Most Strong[58: ]اﻟﺬارﻳﺎت ﻦ ُ اﻟ َﻤﺘِﻴ -37( ﻦ ُ ق ذُو ا ْﻟ ُﻘ ﱠﻮ ِة ا ْﻟ َﻤﺘِﻴ ُ ﷲ ُه َﻮ اﻟ ﱠﺮزﱠا َ نا ) ِإ ﱠ : ﻓﻘﺪ ورد ﻡﻌﺮﻓﺎ ﺑﺎﻷﻟﻒ واﻟﻼم ﻓﻲ ﻗﻮﻟﻪ It has famously been mentioned/recited with ‘alif’ and ‘meem’ in His (Allah’s) speech :“ Verily, Allâh is the All-Provider, Owner of Power, The Most Strong.”[Adh-dhariyat : 58] ﻲ ﺤﱡ َ اﻟ THE EVER LIVING ONE[58: ]اﻟﻔﺮﻗﺎن {ً ت ُ َﻳﻤُﻮ -38 ﻲ اﱠﻟﺬِي ﻻ ﺤﱢ َ ﻋﻠَﻰ ا ْﻟ َ ﻞ ْ ) َو َﺗ َﻮ ﱠآ “ .And put your trust in The Ever Living One Who dies not .” [Al – Furqaan : 58]THE DOMINATING / THE SUSTAINER[111: ]ﻃﻪ اﻟ َﻘﻴﱡﻮ ُم -39{ً ﻇﻠْﻤﺎ ُ ﻞ َ ﺡ َﻤ َ ﻦ ْ ب َﻡ َ ﻲ ا ْﻟ َﻘﻴﱡﻮ ِم َو َﻗ ْﺪ ﺥَﺎ ﺤﱢ َ ﺖ ا ْﻟ ُﻮﺝُﻮ ُﻩ ِﻟ ْﻠ ِ ﻋ َﻨ َ } َو “ And (all) faces shall be humbled before (Allâh), the Ever Living, The One Whosustains and protects all that exists. ”[Ta-Ha : 111]almuflihoon.com
ﻲ اﻟ َﻌِﻠ ﱡ THE MOST HIGH / THE SUBLIME[4: ]اﻟﺸﻮرى -40( ﻲ اﻟ َﻌﻈِﻴ ُﻢ ض َو ُه َﻮ اﻟ َﻌِﻠ ﱡ ِ ﻷ ْر َ ت َوﻡَﺎ ﻓِﻲ ا ِ ﺴﻤَﺎوَا ) َﻟ ُﻪ ﻡَﺎ ﻓِﻲ اﻟ ﱠ “ To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, and He isThe Most High, the Most Great. ”[Ash-shura : 4] اﻟ َﻌﻈِﻴ ُﻢ THE MOST GREAT[33: ]اﻟﺤﺎﻗﺔ ( ﻦ ﺑِﺎﻟﱠﻠ ِﻪ اﻟ َﻌﻈِﻴ ِﻢ ُ ن ﻻ ُﻳ ْﺆ ِﻡ َ ) ِإﻥﱠ ُﻪ آَﺎ “ Verily, He used not to believe in Allâh, The Most Great, ”THE APPRECIATIVE[30: ]ﻓﺎﻃﺮ -41[Al – Haaqqah : 33] ﺸﻜُﻮ ُر اﻟ ﱠ -42( ﺵﻜُﻮ ٌر َ ﻏﻔُﻮ ٌر َ ﻀِﻠ ِﻪ ِإﻥﱠ ُﻪ ْ ﻦ َﻓ ْ ) ِﻟ ُﻴ َﻮ ﱢﻓ َﻴ ُﻬ ْﻢ ُأﺝُﻮ َر ُه ْﻢ َو َﻳﺰِﻳ َﺪ ُه ْﻢ ِﻡ “ That He may pay them their wages in full, and give them (even) more, out ofHis Grace. ﺤﻠِﻴ ُﻢ َ اﻟ THE MOST-FORBEARING[225: ]اﻟﺒﻘﺮة “ And Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most-Forbearing.”THE ALL-SUFFICIENT / THE VAST-43( ﺡﻠِﻴ ٌﻢ َ ﻏﻔُﻮ ٌر َ ) وَاﻟﻠﱠ ُﻪ [Al – Baqarah : 225] ﺳ ُﻊ ِ اﻟﻮَا -44( ﻋﻠِﻴ ٌﻢ َ ﺳ ٌﻊ ِ ن اﻟﱠﻠ َﻪ وَا ﺝ ُﻪ اﻟﱠﻠ ِﻪ ِإ ﱠ ْ ب َﻓَﺄ ْﻳ َﻨﻤَﺎ ُﺗ َﻮﻟﱡﻮا َﻓ َﺜ ﱠﻢ َو ُ ق وَا ْﻟ َﻤ ْﻐ ِﺮ ُ ﺸ ِﺮ ْ ) َوِﻟﱠﻠ ِﻪ ا ْﻟ َﻤ [115: ]اﻟﺒﻘﺮة “ And to Allâh belong the east and the west, so wherever you turn yourselves oryour faces there is the Face of Allâh (and He is High above, over His Throne).Surely!
