Instructions for electrical connections are on a decal on themotor housing.Qualified or trained personnel should install equipment. Equipmentshould be installed in accordance with the National Electrical Code,local codes and with NEMA MG2, Safety Standards for constructionand guide for selection, installation and use of electric motors andgenerators.Review your application flow and pressure requirements. Exceedingthe rated pressure of the motorized unit may cause overheating ofyour motor, high amp draw and result in shortened motor life. Beforeoperation see Pump and Motor Lubrication section. CAUTIONSome Motor Models Contain No Thermal ProtectorA separate over current protection device must be installed to preventmotor burnout and possible fire damage due to overloaded or stalledmotor. Motor must be properly grounded.

ASSEMBLY OF ELECTRIC MOTOR AND PUMPMOUNTING FLANGE COMPONENTS1. R otate pump shaft so keyway is toward back of pump. Insert key intopump shaft. To assure key is completely seated, beveled end should betoward pump and flat surface horizontal with shaft keyway. Shaft maynot fit into motor if key is improperly installed.3. S lip lockwashers and washers onto shaft retaining screw (HH). ApplyLoctite 242 to threaded section and thread screw into pump shaft.Torque to 110 in-lbs (12 Nm).4. M ount flange assembly onto pump with extended collar toward pump,side vents to the right and left. Line up center four threaded holes withthose on bearing case.5. Apply a small amount of Loctite 242 to the four flat head hexscrews and secure flange assembly to pump. Torque to 60–70 in-lbs(6.6–7.7 Nm).6. Apply Loctite 242 to two hex head combination (HHC) screws andinsert into motor shaft. Thread into shaft only partially into keyway.7. Apply Antiseize lubricant (6106) to pump shaft and I D of motor shaft.Carefully insert pump into hollow motor shaft until flange assembly isflush with motor. Be certain key on pump shaft lines up with keywayon motor shaft.8. S ecure pump with flange assembly to motor with four lockwashers andfour hex head screws and torque to 50–60 ft-lbs (5.5–6.6 Nm).9. U se a 5/32" allen wrench (34030) to secure HHC screws through side ventin flange assembly. PUMP LUBRICATIONBefore starting pump, fill crankcase per specifications with Cat Pumpsspecial custom-blend, ISO-68 petroleum based hydraulic oil with antiwear, oxidizer, high pressure and rust inhibitor additives. Change initial fillafter 50 hours running period. Change oil every 3 months or at 500 hourintervals thereafter.MOTOR LUBRICATIONThis is a ball bearing motor. The bearings have been given initial lubricationat the factory. No lubricant needs to be added unless motor has beenstored for over a year.Baldor motors are pre-greased normally with Shell Oil Company’s“Dolium R”. Several equivalent greases which are compatible withBaldor furnished grease are Chevron Oil’s “SRI No. 2” and Texaco Inc.“Premium RB”.Overgreasing bearings can cause premature failure. Motor is equippedwith Alemite fitting. Clean tip of fitting and apply grease with gun. Use 1to 2 strokes. Any excess may drip out the bottom drain during the first20 minutes of operation. NOTICEKeep grease clean. Lubricate motors at standstill. Remove and replacedrain plugs at standstill.
